- On this video I show a Fiat Punto Evo that I purchased from BCA Auctions up in Newcastle.
Is the Punto a small hatchback bargain or is it the laughing stock many people seem to think it is?

Loved watching your videos so far. Freelander was lovely! Any suggestions for me? My 2013 Xtrail was written off when a lady pulled out infront of me last week on a round about. I’m probably going to have around £2000 to spend and want to have something like a golf tdi? Would like it to be a bit nippy but economical. Would love your help!
Thanks Rhys. That's a shame. Me personally I'm a BMW man! I've got a 3 series 318d M Sport manual. It's been in for prep just getting wheels done now. Maybe that would be suitable for you? It will be around that price too. If not I always recommend BMW anyway. Golf, Passat good too if not rotten!

@Rhysprogaming no problem. Yeah I don't mind French but as much as they make some great cars, also plenty of bad ones that don't sell very well. I like my German and Japanese. The BMW is a lovely thing, been Remapped too so it flies! I think it will end up on the channel later this weel
@@FlippinMotorsUK perfect. I’m currently in a brand new Kia sorrento as a hire car! What age is the bmw? My mate is a beemer guy and tried to get me to the dark side for awhile! I work for the nhs as an IT engineer so do a fair bit of miles!
@Rhysprogaming its a 2009 318d should be good for close to 60 mpg on a run. They drive so well when you get on to the back roads too and I find them so comfortable. Quite a handsome car too.
Good cheap cars only thing that let's them down is they eat the 3rd gear

i was working at dominos for about a year and most of my time there was as a driver. when my fiesta got crashed into, i was given a punto as a staff car for a couple of shifts. then eventually sold my fiesta (it was a 2018) and got a bmw 220d. after about 4 months of using the bmw i bought a 2010 corsa d. in all fairness it was an se and the punto was a base spec one, but honestly the corsa, at least to me, was so much better. the clutch on the corsa was much nicer, its a lot easier to find a corsa with cruise control as well, and the driving position. well, ill be more specific, the foot rest. it is so high in the punto it is uncomfortable to drive for me, compared to the corsa where it isnt. when working 12+ hour shifts and driving 200 miles, that makes such a big difference. i think the corsas gearing is better than the puntos too. from my experience, the corsa is the nicer car to drive and would make me buy a corsa again if i was ever doing a job like that again, even if there was a lower mileage punto for the same money or less
I've had dealings with both and can see your points. The Puntos around town are excellent. A few months after this video I bought a white one, drove an hour and found that to be a little bit uncomfortable on the motorway, seats great but position isn't ideal. I'm with you on that, not a massive Corsa lover myself though. I drove a Polo 4 hours before and that was a pleasant journey
@@FlippinMotorsUK yeah polos and fiestas are the best for that sort of age category, I’d have to agree with that 😂 they just still hold a premium

@@FlippinMotorsUK at that price point a lot of the time it’s trying to find the best out of a bad bunch I’ve found. You’re either looking at rough cosmetically, mechanical issues/lack of history, a category on the car or high mileage, and it’s trying to find the best of that combination

Thanks Bill. EML turned out to be neutral position sensor it's getting that done now as well as service and test. My mechanics told me it should fly through an MOT! If you like your older cars keep your eyes peeled I'm trying to get some content at the next WB and Sons Classic Auction!

@bill_20 Fiestas good but hard to get for a reasonable price and unless it's the mk6 they next price bracket!
