Hello again, my outdoors friend. I usually carry one bear 🐻 spray on a military style waist belt. In the last five years I've only seen one Bear 🐻, two mountain lions 🦁 and a few coyotes, but no Bigfoot. I also carry one 10,000 MAH phone charger. I enjoyed your video. Stay safe out there. 😊

BlackieDog 86 - hey Alexis does that sort of obnoxious forwardness work on you (or like 99% of women)? Just asking... I have a union meeting for the United A-Holes of America coming up and I would like to document this incident for our research arm??

Hi from the UK. Really well thought out kit which covers all bases. A tiny observation, I would add some type of waterproof. The latter would make your set up even better than it is.

Great list! I also bring an adventure journal if it's a shorter distance. Thanks for calling out leave no trace ethics! If you don't bury it, trust me, someone's dog will find it 😪
On top of what you showed, i always bring:
    - an extra pair of socks
    - minimalist first aid kit
    - ultralight Styrofoam pad (collapsible)
    - usually 1 trekking pole, mostly used as a sword in case things get real 😅

Thanks Michael! My dog will definitely be the one finding it, that's for sure! Bringing a trekking pole for sword use

    Nice video!
Here are some thoughts on kit...
I would upgrade your knife. Maybe carry a multi-tool and a fixed blade knife such as the Leatherman OHT or Swiss Army One-Handed Trekker (I would want one with a saw, awl, and can opener) and maybe a Mora Companion or a Condor Terrasaur. My favorite folding knife is the Kershaw Blur.
You can find a GSI cup that your water bottle will nest in. That would give you a cup for food and additionally something to boil water in if needed. Depending on where you go and regulations it is nice to make some warm green tea or perhaps coffee. I like to bring a stove. I have many choices but find a small canister stove and a small canister ideal. Though it's not the smallest and lightest, I like the Coleman Peak 1 stove. Additionally, I would bring an emergency whistle, especially when alone. Besides matches, I would bring a couple of BIC lighters and I like to carry a small ferro rod and some additional tinder. A piece of fatwood might be nice. I would carry a spare set of batteries for my headlamp as well. I am also a fan of bringing a little cordage on the trip such as paracord or #36 bankline. You can wrap some duct tape around your lighter to use as tinder as well. I like the Gorilla Tape brand. It can also be used as a bandage, for repare, etc. A small Mylar emergency blanket and a large 55 gallon drumliner garbage bag can also be useful in a pinch. I would probably carry some additional duct tape. You can always find something to wrap it around. I would probably toss in a plastic spork just in case I wanted to bring along some soup or something. And, I really like the Grayl water bottle press filters which can double as a second water bottle. I would carry a compass. I like the Suunto MC-2 Compass. I'd bring some paper and pen/pencil with me as well and some alcohol wipes. Lastly, I might bring a smaller garbage for trash on the trail and I don't go anywhere without a beanie.

make sure to know about where you are hiking, make sure to not go into a military zone, so check the maps before hiking.

maps won't work well where I live, cus some of the areas changed, and anyway a map does not show if trails are actually possible to go on, some here are overgrown, just one or two of those, but still it can happen elsewhere, and need an chainsaw to get through.
but no solution will work perfectly not being able to go though a trail might happen anywhere even if looking at trailforks, not possible to be 100% up to date on all trails. so having an alternative route planned is a good idea. but sometimes you just have to turn back. but probably depends a lot on where you hike or ride.
I use my phone for map if I am in a new to me area.
for those that want to hike in snow, and ice, you need studded soles for the shoes or boots, it's an must have in winter here in Norway anyway, but if hiking in deep snow you need snowshoes. I don't need that where I live. so that's actually snow shoeing
I always carry a battery bank, to charge my phone.
I haven't done hiking since I was a kid. but I do some hike a bike.
