Everytime I listen to this song I get goosebumps. It's such a powerful song. It directly touches the heart and makes u remember all the sacrifices of INA. It's really sad that INA soldiers were not given the status of freedom fighters. They were no less in contributing towards the freedom of our nation.

Actually in the long run the azad hind fauj failed to make any significant impact toward freedom. It was gandhi who is to be credited for independence. However that doesn't mean the fauj's sacrifices were to be forgotten. If anything they should have been a major chapter in modern Indian history. But they nevertheless became a little footnote. And as u pointed out the reason was a lack of recognition of their sacrifice by the newly formed India. The reasons for that are complicated and the administration is not to be blamed for it.
I'm not even Indian, nor do I know the lyrics, but the song is so well done it makes me feel for India.

A brilliant song from a fantastic soundtrack and a wonderful series. As an Irish Republican I salute the Heroes of The I.N.A. , they were brave, fearless Women and Men who fought and many died to free India from British Rule, just we Irish Republicans fought against The British who occupied Ireland for over 800 years, and still 6 counties are under Brit Rule but hopefully soon Ireland will be reunited and free just like India. I am very proud of the fact that the I.R.A. helped Indian Freedom Fighters way back then. I SALUTE THE BRAVE FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF THE INDIAN NATIONAL ARMY. "CHALO DILLI"!

I was lucky enough as a child as I learned these stories from my grandfather (who himself suffered in childhood because of the great Indian partition) about real life heroes who sacrificed their lives to make our nation free...& the saddest thing is no history textbook of this country tells about them. And today after so many years of independence india there still have no respect for INA soldiers because of the theme that indian nation Congress used to say at the time of independence that "IF INA SOLDIERS CAN (POWs) CAN MERGE WITH JAPANESE ARMY TO FIGHT WITH THERE OWN BRITSH INDIAN ARMY , THEY CAN DO THIS AGAIN "

And now, I feel so proud being born on the land these heroes once walked. Profound appreciation for Pritam sir for composing such heartwarming songs. The music throughout the series added soul to the narration. And the voice of Arijit Singh is enough to send shivers of patriotism down your spine.
