    I recently had to model a standing seam roof and I realized it a lot easier just to use a normal roof and model the seams separately with the curtain wall tool!

      That's a great idea! Curtain wall tool has so many hidden functions it's awesome. In the next video you'll see the roof surfacer tool which can quickly apply seams as well.

    Where/How can I download the library for the steel decking objects? It's not on my installed version of Archicad

    Hello, I wasn't aware that Archicad had the ability to create takeoffs. Archicad is a beast for sure. I am interested in creating roofs using the composite tool where I can show in section the materials used for construction. Can I assume that all of the steps shown can also be applied using a composite roof? Thanks.

      Hi Glenn. Yes Archicad has all the tools needed for takeoffs, and can be done on different levels. To do takeoffs with composites, check out this video: th-cam.com/video/-xURlH8REDY/w-d-xo.html The Part 1 - Custom Edge setting type takeoffs with roofs can also be used with composites. Thanks for the comment!

    hello can you help me how did you create all that?

    • @CONTRABIM

      Make sure to check out the full 5 videos! Also, the sheet metal roofing object potentially may not be available as part of your AC library. If not, you can search for the online version which should be available for download. Check out the playlist, and the ww.contrabim.com website for more!

    Is there a way to cut the roof panels with an opening...say like adding a skylight. Would I need to use an SEO?

    • @CONTRABIM
      @CONTRABIM  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Likely an SEO will be needed since these are objects. An opening tool I don't believe with cut it. Thanks for the question!

    Hey John - are those flashing details and steel deck profiles somewhere to grab?

    • @CONTRABIM
      @CONTRABIM  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there! So the "Steel Deck 24" object you should already have in your Archicad Library. The surfacer objects are part of the goodies/accessories. The flashing detail are part of the CONTRABIM Template, but I can create a package for download and will post to the blog! I'll get to that this afternoon.

    hello sir, how to we get steel deck 24 object

    • @CONTRABIM
      @CONTRABIM  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The "Steel Deck 24" object is part of the base USA and INT libraries, as far as I know. Other international builds may have something similar. I'll post the version that I use to my blog here with additional links soon. If you search in the object settings dialogue it should pop up for you. If not I'll post a version to my blog

    Hello, could you show us how to model roof construction without using roofmaker please ?

    • @CONTRABIM
      @CONTRABIM  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, it'd be with using primarily beams and perhaps the trussmaker tool. To start simple, just use a composite structure and then fill the framing cavity with beams when you need to get to that level of detail. I can add a video in this series demonstrating how to do some framing modeling as well. Thanks!

      It should be part of the Goodies Accessory Library!
