I don't understand why AC should be expensive. Technology has improved and gotten cheaper over the years! Everyone including the poor can have access with reasonable prices.
The fare of A-C should be less then 1st Class, if you see the seats it is 2nd Class A-C. Therefore, 1st Class passengers should be allowed to travel by A-C train. And reduce the rush in 1st Class.
I heard that states like madras, kerala, UP, bihar and wbengal had cheap AC rail travel. You might consider getting a job to one of these states and moving there.

@arzan kotval, Looks an absolute beauty. Due to technical difficulties, this AC Rakes cannot be operated on the Central Railway route but may be in the near future AC Rakes will be manufactured taking into consideration the bridge heights.

Metal surfaces are not smooth on any coaches built by ICF. Including on train 18. Modern train coach body looks extremely smooth and glossy on international coaches. iCF needs to look into that if the train needs to look on par with international coaches
Thanks a lot. Dadar to Andheri is INR80, Churchgate - Dadar is INR80. Minimum distance is INR60, 11/12kms distance is INR80 and beyond 12-25kms, its INR120. I think Churchgate to Virar is INR210.
How do the commuters get tickets for AC locals ? Are they provided in the ticket counters ? And if they are provided in ticket counters, is ticket checking done on a regular basis ?
You can get standing in regular queues for non ac first class and second class. Yes you get it from regular ticket counters. Ticket checking is done on platforms and onboard there will be ticket checkers and also Railway Protection Force for safety of passengers
Guys if you see anyone who tries to litter inside or spit outside these trains, please say something to them, even if it is kindly. It's sad to see new locals being dirtied. It's our tax money that has in part paid for these amenities

They had planned slow ac service from csmt to kalyan, csmt to goregaon but due to lower height of Carnac Bunder Bridge near Csmt, ac emus are prohibited since they are taller in height.

Right. Had captured second AC Emu in monsoon. I had compiled it with 3rd ac emu taken on first day.
What happened to the forst ac rake 7001-7002 it disappeared as soon as 7005-7006 was inducted into service
Had gone for maintenance. After 3rd rake was brought, it was sent for maintenance as it was continuously doing service daily for more than a year
What is the frequency currently of these AC local trains ?
Right now 12 trips in a day. From october they are thinking of increasing frequency

It has features of T18 which help in better acceleration than First ac emu and 2nd ac emu.
I m not complaining but it would be better if they made front a little modern , like t-18.

Trying to copy Delhi Metro..
Its a totally different ball game. Its faster than delhi metro in speed and covers a huge distance too. I have travelled in delhi metro and airport metro. They are better than Mumbai Metro.
