    I always loved Roger's voice. It doesn't have the power of Freddie's, it's sort of lighter and more lyrical, but it's still a real pleasure to listen to, even now. This year he took part in one of the TV New Year's Eve 'parties', and sang a couple of songs, including 'Under Pressure' with Louise Marshall. 🎶

    Wow! Now I knew Roger was in a band called The Cross, much later in life, but this is the first time I've heard anything from The Cross! I do like this song! I'll have to find it to add to one of my playlists! I agree with you Coach based on his 80s hair cut in this video, it does sound like it was recorded in 80s. Roger does have a pretty voice, Mrs. Coach, he does have a rocker's singing voice and a lovely falsetto. I am going to watch this again. I like the ACDC cap Coach, it does fit with the new background, we scored some tickets to see AC/DC in April of this year! Thank you for introducing me to The Cross! I enjoyed this reaction! Peace. ☮

    One of the members of the band the Cross was Spike Edney, keyboardist who has accompanied Queen in live performances since 1985, in addition to Brian May and Roger Taylor's solo tours, to this day. After the Cross disbanded, drummer Josh Macrae became Taylor and Queen's sound engineer. Freddie Mercury - lead vocals on Heaven for Everyone - and Brian May - guitar on Love Lies Bleeding - appear on the Cross' debut album.

    Roger is so darn talented. He never got the accolades for his solo work that he should have. All band members came to an agreement when they started working on solo projects that the Queen machine came first if there was any overlap on working on albums, tours whatever and none of them took issue with it. They all knew Queen was the mothership.

  • @Mikey-DiLo

    When Roger published auditions for musicians for The Cross he left his name out of it. He didn’t want to start a media storm. He didn’t get much feedback at first until he published again. He got it down to 25 musicians for each instrument, drums, guitars, bass. They came in and Roger still didn’t divulge who he was. Those auditioning were stressed because they had no idea who they were auditioning for.

    What can't Roger do? He's an amazing drummer and plays many other instruments. His vocal range is just out of this world, and in this video, it shows that he can also rap and dance (really love his professional dance moves).
    The girl in the video that Mrs Coach mentioned is Debbie Leng, and she was a model (as another commenter had said, she can also be seen in the Breakthrough video) . She's also the mother of three of Roger’s children. His son Rufus is also a drummer, and he plays in The Darkness.
    Anyways, thanks for this reaction and have a great day :)

    Coach, I have to laugh when you said Ford in addition to Chevrolet. For Ford you only need to look to Brian May. He wrote a song for Ford to use in their advertising called Driven By You th-cam.com/video/pT6jkcnaQ7c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EpDBbYXqnHnJFVU9 He also adapted the song for his solo album Back to the Light (there is an official video for the full song as well). I think you will enjoy these!

    • @iris67si
      @iris67si 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Brian sang Driven By You live for the first time on Guitar Legends in Seville Oct 1991. The organisers of Seville Expo due to start in April 1992 contacted Brian to be the music director of the show which promoted the upcoming Expo. Brian reluctantly accepted the job because Freddie was gravely I'll at that time.
      But the Guitar Legends show was spectacular because Brian managed to get a hell a lineup of musicians: Cozy Powell, Nuno Bettancourt, Gary Cherone, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani ... and himself.
      Brian was also very sceptical to put the song Driven By You out as a single but Freddie rang him and insisted that Brian has to continue and was almost angry why the song wasn't released yet so the date to launch DBY was set: 25th November 1991 😮

    Hi folks! (Notice how well I ignore that AC/DC stuff.) I have to say, I never thought I'd see you guys actually do something from the side projects, and as you'll find, The Cross are not Queen, but you'll be able to figure out which songs Rog wrote much easier. I have all the Cross albums. Never listen to 'em, but I have them. (I mostly bought them, apart from being a Queen diehard, to really aggravate my exGF who had a mad crush on Rog and wanted them just to have them. No way. We listen to them.) I am glad to hear you eschew country music-I hate it too, but I did hear some hillbilly covering Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" in a shop the other day, and it wasn't altogether terrible. Anyhoo, this came out in '88-when Queen wasn't too busy with other stuff. And yeah, he plays everything. And speaking of pretty, Mrs. Coach, you shoulda seen him in his teen years. As pretty as a girl. So, while you're shopping in the bits and bobs aisle, don't forget about the Doc's "Starfleet Project" with EVH, et. al. And of course, Rog and Freddie sang backup on Billy Squier's "Emotions In Motion"-well, there's plenty others to get to. Love you guys!

    Well, nothing of particular compared to his master band, i mean Queen. Just a little 'jam-band' formed because he still wanted to go in tour somewhere; thing he cannot do it with Queen because of the Freddie's illness. And in my opinion, this easiness can be seen in all its greatness😅.. I think Roger wanted to demonstrate to his freinds that he was going nowhere except for some tourneè.. They have had not success at all and they appeared on the UK's Chards just because some Queen's fan was curious to ear what the Roger's band could looks like..
