You freakin' read my mind. Been doing presson sets as just a way to keep my hands busy and not eat everything in the house during lockdown. Then I started posting my creations so now I have to make them for everyone I know. LOL For people who never used fake nails before this will be so helpful. Thanks.
I've been doing my nails like this for awhile and doing my own filing to fit them to my nail bed. I think the process with the tape template will make the process of fitting the nails, easier.
This is a great idea, Kirsty! I hope this helps all the nail techs who are worried about losing their clients during this quarantine, and I hope it helps their clients, too.
Very creative! Helping keep businesses going at a safe distance 😁 I finally bought myself a lamp and some basic gel polishes to do my own nails given all the free time, but I don't like super long for everyday, and my left hand is useless at art 🤣 so I've been thinking about creating some long tips for myself for special occasions. Thanks for all the inspiration over the last couple of years, hopefully I can put it to good use! 🤗
Excellent video. Make perfect sense, absolutely brilliant. Thanks you even though I don’t ware nail. I just love watching your videos, you and Adam are absolutely fabulous!
Thank you so much for doing this video as my clients keep asking me how to measure lol... I’m a training nail tech but doing stick on nails for those who can’t come to me etc... I’ve been doing a rough guide with clients who I’ve measured before but not new ones :)... your a start Kirsty n thank you for sharing whilst ur in lockdown... hope you and the family r staying safe n well xxx
I love this.. Rather going to a store and picking up a package of glue on nails.. Certain stores do sell them in all lengths well except "fay length" 😂😂 or even order on line but this is wayyy better. ( This is the U.S.A. im referring to also)
I do my own nails like this, but I paint them myself. It makes it so much easier, I can do designs with my dominant hand so they look good and they can be totally dry before I put them on so no smudges :)
Hi!! If they (the client) file them to the right size will that mess up the paint at all? I worry about it peeling easier because of the file taking off the layers of paint. I probably am over thinking it but I worry about things 😂 I started selling press on nails in February and it’s finally taken off 😁
Hi Kirsty. If I am creating my own press-ons, would it be okay to first apply a peel-off base coat before starting to sculpt them out? Cause then, when they are done, decorated or not, I just have to peel them off, mark them somehow, and then I have them for the event that my real nails crack or split.. Would that work? Just nail crazy! Thanks for videos, and stay safe! Hugs from superfan in Norway!!
This video couldn't come at a more perfect time! I woke up this morning and started looking for everything I needed to do press on nails 😂 few questions though! What tips did you have in the video? Finding it hard to find a nice length coffin. Also the brush on glue isn't on the website? X
I use clear coffin nails from amazon. They are really good and soo long. The seller is MuBoC. For glue, I use elegant touch quick dry glue and both me and clients have been getting 2 plus weeks x
I do my own Press on. I find it easier to do nail art that way. But often i have problems with the tip beeing too curved or less curved than my natural nail. Do you have a suggestion for that? Thanks for the educational video 🤗
Hi..please can you answer my question.......I wondered when you were getting more stock on your website? I wanted to buy the acrylic nail starter kit but its sold out😥💜💜
Hi Kirsty! Woman I love your videos.... I have started doing acrylic nails here in South Africa becoz of you and I have one thing I am struggling with, how do I get an even cover pink acrylic nail, cos mine always comes out so patchy/cloudy(some parts are lighter or darker). please help????????
Vicky ferguson Yes, think different ratio in my pearls are causing different colour patches. I’m trying my best to work on the consultancy now. Thanx Vicky Ferguson
I just did some press ons again today, and I adhere them with a small bit of acrylic. I haven’t been able to find a glue that doesn’t cause my nails to pop off the next day.
I am doing press on nails for a wedding as she did not want to have to sit in a salon and get everything done as she only wants the nails for a short time so I offered her press on custom to what she wants and she loves the idea.....
Cud u do a video for press on nails as a 24 pcs set on basically how to work out which nails wud be accent nails etc as if ur doing a set for a client but dont know there sizes so u do a set of 24 nails Basicall i wanna do a set of nails each nail different colour (matching hands) with between 1 and 3 accent nails x cant figure out how to work it out x
Can we have the link for the brush on glue as I cant find it on the website anymore! The last time i looked a few weeks ago it was out of stock, now its vanished!😂x
Wouldn't it be easier to use a sewing measuring tape? They are flexible so you don't have to use tape then stretch that out to measure with a ruler. Then you can use it to measure the press-on and no tape or ruler or checking each size etc.
I’m still woundering how to get press-on nail on to very round nail’s... And the nails are round both way’s, could you please show me😁❤️ And i still love you’r videos😁❤️
I'm only guessing about this, but... I think you could put the cuticle half (or three-quarters) of each nail into almost boiling hot (98 degrees C, or 200 degrees F) water and press them against your nail bed until they cool. This _should_ change the shape of the C-curve and the arch from cuticle to free edge, but you may need to put the curves in the arch direction (cuticle to free edge) first, and then the C-curve (sidewall to sidewall) direction. If one heating and cooling cycle doesn't change it enough, try heating them and re-shaping them a second time. If the hot water doesn't work, a hot curling iron (only the non-stick ceramic or Teflon coated irons) or a candle flame might. Just be careful and don't melt them, set them on fire or burn yourself! I have a tremendously high c-curve AND an exaggerated, (almost talon-like,) arch, as well.
faresti un video per me? unghie in stile foresta con del tabacco inglobato? ti ammiro da tanto ed è la prima volta che ho avuto il coraggio di chiederti qualcosa...
The last time I checked, mm is for millimeter (distance), and ml is for millilitres or mills (liquid volume). Has something changed somewhere in the world of measurements?
The next day, in the post, Kirsty receives an envelope from Fay with her nail sizes 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
This is BRILLIANT!!! I wish I could have Kirsty Meakin originals!!
You freakin' read my mind. Been doing presson sets as just a way to keep my hands busy and not eat everything in the house during lockdown. Then I started posting my creations so now I have to make them for everyone I know. LOL For people who never used fake nails before this will be so helpful. Thanks.
Thank u i needed this. If we have another round of this im going to prepare my clients ahead of time! keep their tip sizes in my client book!
That's a brilliant idea, even if you or they are going on holidays...for those times when you and client just can't work out the timing!
I've been doing my nails like this for awhile and doing my own filing to fit them to my nail bed. I think the process with the tape template will make the process of fitting the nails, easier.
Amazing trick.... I was just thinking I am surprised that Faye is not knocking on the door in a full hazard suit to get her nails done. 😂🤣
Ingenious!!! And any press-on might need a touch of filing to fit ideally.
This is a great idea, Kirsty! I hope this helps all the nail techs who are worried about losing their clients during this quarantine, and I hope it helps their clients, too.

This is how I do it for mine. I keep both a tape measure and ruler in my studio at all times. Btw.. ml is milliliters and mm is millimeters.😊
Thank you I have had trouble sizing my nails. Now I won’t though. Thanks ever so much. You are awesome!❤️
Another great video. Your videos are brilliant and you make me laugh.
Kirsty, your doing great, love to see your videos as you know. Hi Adam. We are at the Mo all OK. Keep that chin up hun. Xx
I love this.. Rather going to a store and picking up a package of glue on nails.. Certain stores do sell them in all lengths well except "fay length" 😂😂 or even order on line but this is wayyy better. ( This is the U.S.A. im referring to also)
The girl of the green fashion nails 💋💚💚💚💅💅
I do my own nails like this, but I paint them myself. It makes it so much easier, I can do designs with my dominant hand so they look good and they can be totally dry before I put them on so no smudges :)
This video was so helpful 💖 thank you x
Awesome info. Adam is louder now we can hear him much better. :D
Thank you for sharing this information with us. This is great to know. Well I am off to get surgery.

Thank you so much for this video ♥️♥️♥️
This is so helpful! Thank you so much!
Can you apply the press ons with UV builder gel & cure it in a light or no?
This video couldn't come at a more perfect time! I woke up this morning and started looking for everything I needed to do press on nails 😂 few questions though! What tips did you have in the video? Finding it hard to find a nice length coffin. Also the brush on glue isn't on the website? X

Hi Kirsty your ml is measuring liquid, mm is distance millimetres x
Hi Kirsty! How do you remove your press on nails? BTW I love all of your work, you are amazing❤️.
I do my own Press on. I find it easier to do nail art that way. But often i have problems with the tip beeing too curved or less curved than my natural nail. Do you have a suggestion for that? Thanks for the educational video 🤗
TYFS wonderful info
Happy Mother's Day 😻
Where do you get your tips from? I cant seem to find any with a zero that large and my own thumb nail is 18mm!
Hi..please can you answer my question.......I wondered when you were getting more stock on your website? I wanted to buy the acrylic nail starter kit but its sold out😥💜💜
Hi Kirsty! Woman I love your videos.... I have started doing acrylic nails here in South Africa becoz of you and I have one thing I am struggling with, how do I get an even cover pink acrylic nail, cos mine always comes out so patchy/cloudy(some parts are lighter or darker). please help????????
sounds like your ratio is a bit off or could be the product you are using ?
Vicky ferguson Yes, think different ratio in my pearls are causing different colour patches. I’m trying my best to work on the consultancy now. Thanx Vicky Ferguson
Would there be a difference if you place the tape over the artificial nail vs inside the nail?
Hi Kirsty, where do you get your full cover tips from ?
What tips are you using please Kirsty?
Can you use Resin to apply the tips, or does it have to be glue? Great video, thanks!
I just did some press ons again today, and I adhere them with a small bit of acrylic. I haven’t been able to find a glue that doesn’t cause my nails to pop off the next day.
Thank you for sharing this.
fab video :). Where did you get your full nails from? x
Love your videos love ❤️ you thanks 🙏 for tips

Hola! Me encantan sus vídeos 😍, es una gran artista pero no entiendo el inglés 😞 jaja. Aún así los veo
Kirsty where can I get a decent starter kit from
Thank you really helpful 😊
Will the curve of the client nail make a difference to the size/fit? Thanks
Amazing thank you my Dear 😍🤩😍💅🏼🌷
Question, could you use a small bead of acrylic to attach the presson nail to nail if you want them to last longer?
I know u can do it with gel not sure about acrylic tho
Happy quarantine Mother’s Day!!!
I am doing press on nails for a wedding as she did not want to have to sit in a salon and get everything done as she only wants the nails for a short time so I offered her press on custom to what she wants and she loves the idea.....
Do you still need to build up an apex and everything with product? Or can I start decorating after they are sized
Millimetres is abbreviated “mm”.
Sandra Streifel first thing I shouted at the screen! 😹
When doing a basic acrylic nail how long do you put them under a lamp or uv for?
Just acrylic doesn't go into a lamp. Only gel or gel polish does.
Is she using Apres brand full cover tips?
Where are these nails from? X
Where do you get those tips??
So Kirsty are we going to be seeing you do a set of press on nails for Faye?
💜
How is Faye coping?
@naio nails
Hello, could you tell me the name of the tool you use to measure the thickness of the nail and where I can buy it.. please?
ml = milliliter
mm= millimeter
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
What about people with flat nail beds?
わかりやすい❤️
Cud u do a video for press on nails as a 24 pcs set on basically how to work out which nails wud be accent nails etc as if ur doing a set for a client but dont know there sizes so u do a set of 24 nails
Basicall i wanna do a set of nails each nail different colour (matching hands) with between 1 and 3 accent nails x cant figure out how to work it out x
Great idea. Did anyone notice the ring on her left Hand.
Hey babygirl I loooovvvvveeeeeee you 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Can we have the link for the brush on glue as I cant find it on the website anymore! The last time i looked a few weeks ago it was out of stock, now its vanished!😂x
When can you restart your business in the UK?
Hi 👋🏾😊 Happy Mother’s Day 🌺🌹💐🌷🌸 and please set up English subtitle .. im deaf ..thank you
And what if the thumb is bigger then the biggest size?
Wouldn't it be easier to use a sewing measuring tape? They are flexible so you don't have to use tape then stretch that out to measure with a ruler. Then you can use it to measure the press-on and no tape or ruler or checking each size etc.
I love press on nails but am struggling to find a glue that actually works. Any favorite brands?
I use elegant touch quick dry. We get 2 plus weeks out of our press ons (me and clients)
This is super helpful, thanks!
I’m still woundering how to get press-on nail on to very round nail’s... And the nails are round both way’s, could you please show me😁❤️

If you put a drop or with q-tip. Put acetone on the under side and pinch to your c curve. It melts the gel, plastic enough to shape.🤗
What happened to the Fay takes off her nails video? I hadn’t watched it yet and now it’s gone
Is this how Faye is surviving quarantine with you Kirsty?
I didnt faff about with tape and rulers i just used a material tape measure
I wonder how Fay is doing during lock down..
Make your clients a kit.

I think it’s mm, not ml, litre is for liquid ya, mm is length?
Omg I was watching her new video and she made it private quickly. It's about Fay removing her long nails. Hopefully the video will be made public.
Sorry, i was an accident, It's back on now
