Hamburger used to be the only German club to never get relegated from the Bundesliga and had a clock in their stadium counting the time since the league was founded to celebrate this. It made it that little bit more awkward when they were finally relegated a few years ago and they had to turn off the clock

it's so weird when people call the club "Hamburger" .. that's basically like saying ManchesterS, BirminghamS or LondonS ... the -er suffix on city names just denotes possession. SV is the Sportverein (sports club). So, Hamburger Sportverein = Hamburgs Sport Club. The city name or HSV will suffice. ;)

Im just so sad to see the once might 1FCK (Kaiserlautren) relegate to B3 or whatever German equivalent is of Serie C. I attended to games at the cozy yet raucous Fritz-Walter Stadion am den Betzenberg (the one I remember most was against St Pauli). I hope that tiny club can become giant slayers again someday. Currently I'm all on board for Eintracht, because who isnt sick A.F. of Bayern? Same fatigue as with Juventus. I Attended a game at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt in 1989 or so, more than a decade before its major upgrade for the World CUp.. It was a beautiful open air place, and I'm not sure I enjoy the roof on it.

Manclubs are in germany's second and third devisions have a lot of tradition.
It might also be due to severe regulation that stadiums in their second devision are also in a good & beautiful status.

I worked as a security guy in stadiums the fellas with the orange or yellow shirts.
Max-Morlock-Stadium was the main place for me. In winter its fricking cold while in spring/sommer the sun was unberable.
In 2014 on my first or second day of work Germany played against Gibraltar. Normaly you're not suposed to watch the game and you're facing to the ranks. But there was no task left for me so the supervisor placed me near the corner just infront of the pitch saying "today you're lucky, enjoy the game"
And i stood there starstrucked as a young lad seeing the current world champions. It was a amazing night!
Ps. Joachim Löw is a little fella while Müller or Boateng are fucking big.

Fortuna Düsseldorf's stadium was a World Cup 2006 venue, even if F95 was just a forth tier club back then. Nobody really knew why they got that stadium build, but the fact that Volker Niersbach, a high ranking (corrupt) and ultimately DFB head may have played more than just a small part. There is a reason why Fortuna Düsseldorf is commonly refered to Fortuna Niersbach - including their questionable promotion in a relegation game against Hertha BSC Berlin in 2012 - which proofed to be a scandal and, honestly, should have been an even bigger scandal than it was.

Shame its not like this in the UK. Fans there are lazy, entitled (the hunger games styled 'please can I have your jersey') and the atmosphere is poor comparing the Germany. Look at the situation in Cagliari: Sant'Elia which was renoveted for Italia 90 is now abandoned, and they are using amakshift tempo stadium. San Nicola (Bari) isnt seeing much glory since their relegation. Benevento and Salernitana making it upat least temp.. to serie A is shwoing how crappy anything in Campania is beyond SanPaolo/Maradona. I'm stil amazed 2 teams are juggling the stadiums in Verona, Genova, and Reggio Emilia

hm... Why does every stadium in league 2 has solar, excapt the teams coming from league 1 ? Why our 2 league can but the first not if they have more money. Eaven the SC Freiburg in league 1 is Climate neutral and had not much more money than a top Team in league 2.... Ok now we own the City 15 million € but in about 3 years its no longer existed and wer free to go with all our money
