Ahhhhmazing! Thanks for sharing your wonderful creativity. They are all precious. I thought you were going to say that the key on the summer vacation journal was the key to the cabin or beach house the family had rented for the vacation, lol. Great job!
Hi Kristina, unfortunately, it's sold. ( I edited the description.) I'll have to look around and see if I have any others that are finished and unsold. If not, I may still make some more. Thanks!
These turned out great! I love the idea of the soft spine that can bend in half even. Seems like a perfect little summer journal to take on the go! I do hope you make some more and I’ll have to be quicker on the uptake next time😊
Hi there. What a great idea about the soft spine. Thank you for sharing your process. Great to see the map of Australia in the book. Cheers from Kathie from South Australia.
By far the best Little Golden journals I've seen since the trend began. Absolutely love the soft spines/ hardcover combo, what a great idea! Will you be doing a tutorial on construction? Also esp like the simplicity of your journals without too much embellishment and pockets; I also like to decorate my pages when I come to them and decide what they need in the moment. 😊💜
These are best ones I've seen from other videos! I'm the same way, I don't like all the pre-embellishments. I like the freedom to decorate as I go. I love the soft spine idea as well! Is there a tutorial?
Hi Melanie, love your development of your spine on these LGBs. I've been playing around with a different spine also. On my last small LGB, I didn't take the 2 covers apart and just folded the two golden pieces in to form the spine and then reinforced and covered it, etc. I love how it turned out, but I will have to try your idea also. But my sewing machine won't sew through cardboard, so I'll have to figure that out. Thank you for sharing your ideas : ) Sheree
Great idea, Sheree! There are so many options with these little books. I'm still nervous about sewing this board with my machine, but I just keep doing it. I have an really old industrial Singer that I'm trying to get my husband to help me refurbish. Maybe it can be my book sewing machine. Thank you for all the kind comments you leave on my videos! I love reading them!
@@MelanieSullivan I could probably look into picking up a second hand industrial sewing machine. That could be fun. Maybe from a sewing repair shop?? Thank you for subscribing.
Can I still ask you some questions about these books? This post is from 3 yrs ago but I'm just finding it! I love your style! I've probably seen 20-30 videos on doing the LGBs...this is one of my top 2 favorite ways I've seen. I'd love to message you with a few questions if possible.
Hello there. I just love your videos. Your talent is amazing and so inspiring. Please let me know if Hunkydory is spoken for. I am interested in purchasing it when you’ve competed it, if possible. So cute!!
Hi Stacey. I think someone asked about Hunkydory right before you and is interested. I'll be making some more if there's interest. Please send me a message on Etsy (shop link in description above) and I can keep you posted! :-)
@@christineschiaffo7976 Thank you, Christine! Yes, my Etsy shop is texasfreckles (www.etsy.com/shop/texasfreckles). If you don't mind, send me a convo there and I can set something up!
I love little Golden Books and I’m making some into journals now too. I just subscribed. I’d love if you would stop by my channel and become a new “subbie” friend too. I’d love tour feedback too! Have a great day! 😀
All of them are adorable! TFS
Your videos are very inspiring. Thank you for your great instructions.
Wow! I love the soft spine! ❤️❤️❤️

Great idea for a soft spine. All of the journals are super cute! I love how you show your different versions.
Love them thank you for sharing I think the first one you show its perfect with that spine
These are so cute, I really love that soft spine. You make great videos! Hugs from Texas...
Love that Little Red Caboose one!!
Is it still available? Where do you sell these?

Hi Kathie! I haven't made it to Australia yet, but it's on my short list! Thanks for the comment!
These are wonderful!
I think I want to try this way, love the soft/hard combination making the book like you say more easy to slip in bags etc and better to stuff up💗.

Love the soft spine!!
I'm making a series of these, too and I love the spine idea! Great books 😍

Yes Melanie keep making them. I am hoping to see a “‘little girl” book in the future.
I now have a new granddaughter.

Thank you for the video. When you sew on the covers do you change the setting on your sewing machine?

Such a great idea! I love that you include a little ephemera pack too! How many layers of fabric did you use on the spines? Just curious
Hi Carey, I think there was just one layer of fabric in these, but I stitched it to some card stock for stability. :-)
Awesome idea about the spine! I would love to try it but worried I wold break my sewing machine
I know what you mean, I was clenching my teeth and going really slow! I need an old beasty machine that I can dedicate to book cover stitching!

Melanie, The word you’re looking for for that part of the book spine is joint.
That works, Lyn! Thank you. Sometimes the words get lost between my brain and my mouth. :-)
Hi. your journals are so adorable. Do you have an Etsy store or how do I purchase "the Little Red Caboose"?
I also LOVE Hunkydory if it is not spoken for. If you do not sell Bambi I am interested in that one too. Thanks.

Very cute but could use more writing space for my liking...
Great suggestion, Linda. I'l include more lined pages in the next batch. Thanks!
