I know how she feels about wanting to do something that is specifically your own. I don't have a laser, yet. I have things that I make and I have people in the groups get mad that I don't do tutorials. Half the time, what I'm doing is trial and error and I'm shocked that it worked. I like people to be inspired, but they need to do the leg work. I tell them they have to do what I do, watch a lot of you tube and go to web sites where people do tutorials and put it all together. I find that people are lazy in that aspect.
One thing I always say is I’m very happy to help, but I need people to meet me along the way and do the work too. As an example if I’ve made a tutorial on something, I’ll likely ask someone to watch it before I walk them exactly through that same thing. But if they’ve done that and are stuck - I’m so happy to help get over the hump!
I understand where she is coming from. I really want to make something that is not generic. I really enjoyed this interview.
Me too! Creating something memorable is awesome
