  • This is an updated coconut jello video recipe that I made a few months ago.
    9 cups of water ( can add 10 cups if wanted the jello little more soft)
    1 package of agar agar
    I can of coconut milk
    1 1/2 cup of sugar ( can add 2 cups if wanted sweeter)
    1 teaspoon of salt
    Add the 1 package of agar agar into the room temperature 9 or 10 cups of water and stir them. Turn on the heat to high and boil the water and agar agar and continue to stir. Now add the sugar and 1 can of coconut milk to the water and agar agar mixture. Keep the heat on and let it boil. Once it boiled just turn off the heat and 1 teaspoon of salt and stir. Carefully pour the mixture into the pan. Put it in the fridge for 3 to 4 hours so it can solidify.
    If you can't find the ingredients in your supermarket, you can find them here.

    Worked perfectly for me and the jello successfully separated into two layers. I used Chaokoh Coconut Milk and, at the request of my daughter to have pink jello, added one drop of red food coloring after turning off the heat and mixed well. I had a beautiful layer of opaque pink and another layer of clear pink.

    This taste fantastic!! I used Erythritol instead of sugar, which cut the carbs and sugars down to only 6 for the entire recipe. I used the exact same coconut milk and agar agar, but I didn’t get the same level of layer separation. Nonetheless, I love it. Thanks for the recipe.

    If you don't have the separate layer it's because of the brand of coconut milk you are using. The white part is higher fat content part of the milk. So getting a quality milk will yield better layer.

    Tank you for the quick reply. also how can you flavor them like strawberry or lychee?

    • @danykao4134
      @danykao4134  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never flavor them before but I think the best time to add the flavor is when you add the sugar.

    This didnt work for me, i tried two attempts 😕 i dont think im doing anything wrong but i can barely taste the coconut and my jelly is kinda hard even when i used 10 cups of water. Maybe its just me lol

      Agar agar jelly is a firmer consistency than western gelatin. Try adding less water and more coconut milk so you get more coconut flavor.

    Is there a way to stop the separation?
    Also would you use less water if you were using stevia instead of sugar?

    • @yaviS975
      @yaviS975 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stevia is lighter than granulated sugar, though I’m sure you can use it with the same amount of water; it won’t change the consistency.. as well as the separation it is meant to be that way.
