it is a very inspiring interaction and advice on Civil Engineering by a reputed professor and researcher, Prof. D. N. Singh. Civil Engineering is a part of Infrastructure Engineering with a very broad scope. Nowadays all areas are interdisciplinary and degrees are offered as dual degrees and hybrid degrees with specialization. If you observe Computer Science, in bachelor level itself it divided as many degrees. Why not civil engineering with a bachelor's degree with many specializations. The present courses need to be revised as per future requirements. For this more academic, research, and industry collaboration/interactions are required just like the way it is happening Europian union. Regarding problem-solving, there is not much difference between a small and large problem, if students are well versed with programming skills. More importance should be given to projects in the curriculum in collaboration with the industry.
