Just because people think it's meant to be a fighter they think it's bad.
UT is not a fighter. It's meant to be cinematic like the show is.
It's a good game becase it does what it was trying to accomplish very well.

Uh no, not even close. This game was advertised as the next series into the budokai tenkaichi games. This game was advertised as a fighter so we must treat the game as a fighter. You can’t defend game, there’s a reason why this game failed and is considered the worst dragon ball game of all time(that’s right, it’s considered worse than Dragon Ball Z Sagas). The only thing this game did great was the look of the game, and the game actually remastered and redrew a few of the original anime scenes.

@@Unchainedful Dude this is spite at this point. This is by no means the worst DBZ game. It's quite fun
its a quick time event arcade game! I think we should've had a fight stick more akin to one of those lever less button ones to play this as the combination of buttons would be pretty frantic in a fast past mode of wits and reflex!
Even though I hated the rock paper scissors, this game is still fun to look at. They did do really well with recreating the scale and cinematic effect of the fights. The character creation was also pretty neat.
Rock-paper=scissors has 3 options, this has 2. One person said it now everybody does...
If you look at it and play it with the mindset that it's a fighter then you're not going to find it enjoyable. It's enjoyable because of how cinematic it is.

If you look, the alternate names would have fit better. Saiyan Rising etc. All the saiyan names.

it's supposed to be a fighter. its japanese name is "ultimate blast", the sequal to rb2. the graphics and cinematics are indeed very good butthat's all it does, no action like in budokai/tenkaichi. just 5 punch combos and some scenes. it's a dbz game thus it's supposed to be a fighter. besides, it's an incomplete game: so many characters missing but their attacks are in the hero mode like cooler and videl, many characters don't have base forms and gogeta appears but not SSJ4 goku and vegeta

the games you mentioned are great non fighters, but this game is just repetetive gameplay: 5 hit squere/X combo then rock paper scissors, my first comment was just for laughs but i seriously don't understand what's enjoyable about this, it's a spit to the face to dbz gamers
