  • In this video, the very simple simulation for bracket structural analysis is done step-by-step using Patran and solved with MSC Nastran. From geometry import, meshing, setup, and post-processing.

    How to give surface contact between two meshed components? Two different components are overlapping after deflection.

    I have a question about the ASET1 card in NASTRAN. When it is added to a BDF file, what does it mean? I read the manual, and it specifies the DOFs of a node that you want. However, in the case of a node within a shell element, theoretically, a shell element always has 6 DOFs. But in some problems, I encountered the requirement to set the ASET1 card for a shell element with 3 DOFs to perform normal mode SOL 103. Is that correct?

    hi, I cant get the XDB file via nastran, what should I do ? I am running in Nastran, the bdf file, but it is not working....

      The newest extension is hdf5, the default will be it. You dont need xdb anymore. But if you need, you can setting the output format in the subcase setting

      @@caesarwiratama3303 I was also trying to get same as this video, but still couldn’t get the results. I am gone really really mean… I gave the force, displacement, also material and mesh, same as here, but something happening, Btw I am the licenced user…

      @@cavok99 is the hdf 5 also didt show up? I think you solusion is diverged. Please check the f06 file from the analysis monitor --> job/view output, and search for “fatal” warning. Sometimes we just forget to click apply during some settings, for example during properties or material definition

    What is the point of putting the second constraint at 8.07 if you already constrained the upper part?

      To mimic the presence of the wall behind it, which prevents the deformation to the x direction

    My results file not seem to be working. Any suggestions?

      The most common mistake is you forget to click apply in the material or properties setting. Or maybe bad element definition and insufficient constraints (too much degree of freedom). Or you can check the log file in the folder to find the error message

    Is the total force your applied the total force of the two surfaces or it is the force per unit area? Thanks.

    • @caesarwiratama3303
      @caesarwiratama3303  ปีที่แล้ว

      if you use element uniform, it will be the total force (Newton). But if you use node, it will be the force per node
