I think the 99 version is better, besides the hair being a bit off the clothing color is more accurate and he looks more like him. The new one looks more polished but looks totally off even his clothes is too bright

The second Chucky in your video wasn't a Re-release. It was just the plush body budget version for people who didn't wanna pay for the one with the plastic body that came in the black box with a talking stand. Both versions were available for sale at Spencer's at the same time. I know because I was there, and I had a hard time deciding between the two of them. They also had the expensive Tiffany doll which came in a black box as well along side her plush body budget version. I ended up getting the expensive Chucky in the box, and got the budget Tiffany. A few years later around 2004 when Seed of Chucky was released to theaters they re-released both of the plush body versions of Chucky and Tiffany with new updated face molds to coincide with the release of the 2004 Glen doll. Those are the ones you would see at Spencer's for the next ten years or so.
Love the new version! I just ordered one to go with my Chucky Doll collection. The plush ones spencers used to sell back then was actually REALLY good, the newer ones don’t get a pink eye and the eyes don’t look as good. I wish spencers put better quality into dolls a lot of people buy, the vintage ones were so good.
There was also an animated Spencer's Chucky. He had a hard plastic head that was glossy and terrible. The eyes moved if I'm not mistaken and the mouth looked like a puppets just flapping... the voice sounded twangy to be honest. Might of dropped around 2005.
The re-release has better painting for the scars compared to the 1999 version. You will notice they didn't put much careful work into carefully putting the paint between the scar molding. They just put the blood on and went on to the next doll. The eyes are way better than the re-release, however.
I like the idea of the 99 hard plastic body but I like the head sculpt of the 2021 doll if possible I personally would buy two of the 99 them remove the heads and switch them with the 2021 Chucky and the Spencer's good guy doll

There was actually a different version ( universal studio) plush the head sculpt was slimmer before they released the hard body doll
