You answered exactly what I was hoping to find out. Can the parents buy regular tickets while the kids get the VIP experience. Definitely will save some money but after seeing what we get from it (badge, pin, figure), not sure it's worth the pay upgrade. The question will be how quickly the lose the pin, and if it will even make it home.

My husband and two teens bought VIP tickets to attend the event in Calgary and were so excited. They stayed a total of 12 minutes and left utterly disappointed! Waste of 180 dollars!! Do not go if you have any expectation of this being cool and something awesome to see. They had a few tables where kids could build, a couple of life-size Lego figures and pretty much it. Too bad I hadn't read the tons of awful reviews before having paid for these expensive tickets. Be warned!
