They broke the code. She built the tower. This is super interesting but will it just begs the questions: 1) can they vocally pull this off 2) can they stage this well Agree this year there will be lots of of the fandom’s “top 5” or “masterpiece” that will be shock eliminated. Definitely agree! I’m so happy to have heard this piece of incredible artistry. Both the performer and the song were just such an excellent choice and even though I like some of the other past Swiss songs this choice absolutely deserves this stage! I am so glad I got to hear this. Sending love to Nemo and Switzerland, this song has been so much fun to listen to not just for me but so many others!
I am absolutely obsessed with this, it's musically genius and lyrically genius. I really really hope this is good live, this CAN win Eurovision and I would absolutely love it to. It's a lot of different genres which might be too much for some people but the fact they are able to absolutely nail every single genre shows how talented they are.
i love this from the top to the end. so well produced, so good written lyrics. and Nemo's vocals?! Hell yes they cracked the code to my heart ❤ brilliant

This is the one that I like most. It came in like a breath of fresh air I like other songs but I dunno this one has something about it. If he can sing those high notes and the rest on stage my guy will be up there this is a vibe love the rap ☮️❤️
What a great review of a superb song Shane. This is my favourite so far. Olly’s is also amazing but it has some serious competition … what a fantastic selection of wild and wonderful sounds we have this year. Happy.
They usually sent good ballads... I appreciate 2022 🇨🇭now that they took the risk I love mixes, and operorap is perfect ❤ it's a combination of music I listen to every day (tzn. rap, mix opera).
So, I'm not a huge Eurovision fan and the only song I knew before today was from Croatia, and I like that. I binge watched both semi finals and the finals tonight and this song really spoke to me immediately when I heard it. Since you mentioned it, I'm wondering what you thought of the staging. I thought it was a little simple, but Nemo impressed with the way he worked the rotating disk thing while hitting those notes. This is the first reaction I, seen of yours. I'm going to go ahead and watch others you've done of the songs that I like from this years contest. Thanks for this.
Absolutely love this entry - an intriguing listen. Delighted Switzerland have really mixed it up this year. So many genres in this song but it works - loving the mix of rap, drum and bass and opera and great lyrics too. Has excellent jury and televote potential if the stars align staging and performance wise. What a year for us Eurovision fans - so many fantastic entries. 🎉 Another one straight into my Top 10 of which there are now about 15 or so songs. 🤣❤
Oh man I did not particularly like that song Cha Cha Cha last year but can’t deny it got a TON Of Televote in part bc of the staging and setup so have to hope that can transfer over in to this year!
Any song with the word “ammonite” in their lyrics I’m going to love… wow, your analysis of this song 👏👏… and who is this new Shane embracing “unconventional” entries ?? 🩷… yeah solid entry
I am actually dreading the semifinals. I’ve never been so convinced that songs I love, and songs that deserve to make the final shakedown, will be left on the sidelines. Of course, that says a lot of great things about the competition, but it also means that possibly because of voting factions, really great songs will be denied their chance to shine. What a year. This is up there with the best. ❤
Probably even too good for Eurovision. It's a masterpiece as well as an international hit song, extremely intelligent. Many ESC songs are only successful within the ESC context. This is far bigger. Many said, some motives would have been a great James Bond song as well.
I went into it thinking i would hate it. I love Swiss sad boy ballads. Remo was my #2 last year etc. But i love it. Really interesting and well produced song. Its different but not so different that its polarising (like perhaps Bambie might be).
I was anxiously waiting for you to do the reaction videos on todays songs and I really really need to know asap what your opinion on The Netherlands is. But ok, I will have to conform with Switzerland first 😂😂😂. So, Switzerland, once again, as Gjon's Tears two entries, and Remo's entry from last year: L..O..V..E 💖💖💖. Especially the mix of different styles of music, opera, rap, pop, funk, very very nice. I do worry about the staging here though, because the videoconcept will be VERY difficult to stage. We all know how those intentions of changing stagings end (The Busker and Riley for example), so Sasha or whoever in charge, will have a challenge here. Also, I am a bit worried about how this will sound live, because it sounds very very mixed and electronically touched, so I am a bit nervous about that and get a bit of Riley vibes to be honest. I hope I am terribly wrong because Switzerland normally sends really good live vocalists and in my opinion, this song is way better that Riley's. By the way, I also inmediatly thought Belgium and Switzerland are alike, so very curious to see how that turns out because they are in the same semifinal 😬.
This is really good!! IKR WTF is this year song selection?! It's mental, I "top" is a mess ahahahahah Love it! Btw, nice shirt Shane looks really good on you, stay safe
Well well well Switzerland fair play👏 This is how you comeback to being a player and not just happy to get thru the Semis! First listen i was intrigued but wasn’t sure about the popera influences as i’m someone who normally hates that stuff but after the second listen yea this absolutely works💯 Don’t know where it’s going in my rankings as of yet tho, it’s becoming stacked🤣 Oh boy i’m starting to get very worried for Ollie, I haven’t even heard the snippet but i think we’re in trouble😬 It better not be rather basic or yikes competing against this and Luktelk…
I still think it’s pretty clear who’s going to end up winning this year (at least for now, we’ll see how the next couple months go) with Europapa going to absolutely KILL the Televote as long as it’s not screwed up (unfortunately given I don’t particularly like that song lol). But I will say I got a lot of great new songs for my personal play list this year, so at least it’s a W regardless of who actually wins imo lol
Very interesting production for the song, I was not expecting the rap part at all. If Nemo can nail the vocal and their staging is great, I honestly think they could have a shot at winning. I personally really like the song, it's currently my 9th place.
@Mad_Flavor I have come to realise that. I mainly said that I was not expecting it because of the operatic start to the song. I do love the rap part though.
Very different and I really like this not my favourite song but I am super excited to watch this live I think Nemo can do well with both the Jury and Public. Eurovision 2024 is now really good the quality is great.
Hey Shane! I like Nemo's “The code". 😊 I have to admit I had to listen to it a few times to form an opinion. It is definitely original with all different genres, has a good message and clever lyrics. It's a bit chaotic at the beginning with no clear melody line, but after the rap part the song flows and blossoms into something I really like! 😊 I love the the chorus with the "oh oh oh" and the longer opera part with the drum & bass 😉. It's very intriguing and challenges the ear and the mind. (Shane, your words here about not being able to predict where the song will go, which makes you intrigued, are exactly the same as I wrote about Gåte😄. Do we happen to have the same way of thinking and wording, or was it possibly something that you memorized😅😉. I'm just kidding my friend💖. I don't get the same experience here as with Gåte, but they both have different forms of complexity). I get the feeling that this is/could be a bit "theatrical", which with good staging and vocals can become amazingly. I probably need a little more time to form an idea about the song and where to place it, but i have an interesting feeling 😉.💖
This is a really interesting entry. On my initial listen it immediately reminded me of Loic Nottet and Jann, both of which are quite artistic, expressive and experimental. I feel quite conflicted with this song because on the one hand, theres lots of elements that I like but at the same time, it does feel somewhat messy and incohesive. Ive no idea how this will be staged because even in the music video, it looks like they've thrown the kitchen sink and then some at it. One thing for sure is, even in a year full of bops and songs that I'd deem televote friendly, this still seems to be the type of song that can still stand out. A very interesting choice for Switzerland, especially after their plethora of male ballads
