I just turned 60 and as I have gotten older I have found that there are very few people that are loyal and can commit to any kind of relationship. I went through a very difficult and lengthy (took almost 4 years to finalize) divorce and I lost so many friends going through it. I know I was not in a good place and people got tired of hearing the same thing. I have been divorced for 6 years and I can't say I have any true friends. I have had to learn to love (and be with) myself, enjoy my own company which is the good that came out through all this. How special to have a friend like you Dominique. May God continue to strenghen your friendship.
I am the same age as you, same happened to me, I'm on my own don't havd friends, never have, but when my relashionship ended im alone, I'm thinking of booking a holiday on my own, first time, feels odd but I won't have a holiday otherwise, got to get on with it, I wish you well, uk
Been there, and know the feeling. My "childhood friends" were not friends and did not stick by me. They kept their "electrician" instead. They can have him. People who aren't there for you at the lowest time of your life, or even care enough about your kids, aren't friends. So be it. I do have work friends and other ladies that live in other states, and we check in with each other, so they are more sincere than the childhood friends, but I know how you feel. I hope you learn to rely on yourself, heal from the trauma of the divorce and forgive and move on. God bless. You will be ok.

Wow! Sometimes it feels like you are the only going through what you go through. I am doing well have done alot of work. I can say I feel happy and at peace. I have found a lot of new activities that bring joy to my life. Take that holiday! @@user-iu3rq5pl1u

This can go either way. Some friends are there for a period of time and that's all they were meant to be there.
Some are there for a lifetime. It's difficult to see into our future but I hope you guys are friends forever.

My bestie since high school , our 20’s, marriages, divorces, raising kids and now in our 50’s passed away in October and my heart is broken! Hold each other close because life is fleeting and every minute counts. We told each other everything and got through so much (good and bad) times together. I’m so sad without her.

It’s uncanny how your TH-cam video with Holly came up EXACTLY after my husband and I did our daily Bible study and prayer this morning and our topic was on thanking God for our trials! We are both retired, and my husband has been experiencing health issues for months. We have discovered that our trials are where our trust, endurance, courage and spiritual maturity blossom and unfold right before our eyes! No, the trials are NOT fun, but as we thank him for them, as we meditate on the word of God, He will give us clear direction and peace in our toughest moments. The dark moments of our life will only last as long as is necessary for God to accomplish His purpose in us. I absolutely LOVED how Holly and you conversed about this so openly. God bless you both! Two years ago my best friend and soulmate (we're like that) moved to the other side of the country with her husband and we're as close as we've always been. I literally miss her every day and wish we were geographically closer, but we as always prioritized each other. Our friendship has survived INSANE levels of testing. Getting promoted over each other. Having falling outs in the worst times of our lives when we hurt each other so much we thought it was irreparable. But no matter what life throws at us, nobody else speaks our language, and nobody uplifts us the way we do each other. True friendship can survive any configuration and test!

i wish you both all the best. For me, there has never been a best friend. It has taken me a lifetime to realise that to find someone who shares the same values, beliefs is impossible. what IS possible is to enjoy new people for what they are and who they are and for as long as they are happy to be in your life. When that chapter comes to an end, then let it go, move on and you will always have happy memories. Your life is like a book, not everyone gets to be in from the start to the end.

This was truly a beautiful segment. Ive been struggling to reach out to my faith because I felt like so many things were out of control. Divorce, stolen Money etc.. but Ive been working on it and manifesting and praying. I loved how you said "Thank you for my struggles". Mine have really felt so rough but wow has it shown me how strong I am and I know this is all for a reason. Thank you for sharing! xo

i have two wonderful friends for 20 years, we have a long distance friendship, its never changed. What will help you both is that you are not married so you have the freedom to make your friend a priority.

This happened to me and my bestie but we were in contact constantly and visited each other regularly. After 2 years she has moved back and I couldn't be more happier. So down the road you could be neighbour's again. Nothing can break a great friendship!!

My best friend of 45 years moved over 2000 miles away two years ago. We still talk every week sometimes for hours. We always laugh, sometimes we cry. She is happy where she lives and loves her new community. I’m so so happy for her! When you love somebody, you want the best for them and if that means a move away from you, you need to celebrate and support them. We have been able to see one another because she travels back to our home for work. She also has two grown children that live here. It’s difficult having your best friends move thousands of miles away especially in your 60s. Several friends have moved, but my closest relationships remain close because we make an effort. Face-timing is an amazing way to help feel connected.❤
The way I see it, you two are blessed that there is face-to-face calls & you both are in the same State so it won’t be hard to visit each other in person. And a friend who helps you clean out your closet is a true friend for LIFE ! ❤️

I just loved this video, God is so amazing! My Mom passed away, September 21, 2022, and my Dad in 2020. My Moms best friend has been there for me, like a Mother, and now has become my best friend! God already knew, that you too, Dominique, would need someone very special in your life, just at the right time. You two have such beautiful 💕 hearts….& have so much in common. So much so, that you both bought each other the same Christmas gift!! How awesome is that ❤

I moved to United States
35 years ago And also left behind many close people ideally loved…. But never actually been separated…. today we have much more wrinkles and our faces but our friendships got stronger and stronger and it didn’t matter that I am 10 hr flight away…

It’s been hard and I’m praying that my friendships like yours will continue As well. My friendships over the last 20 yrs have been so important to me so as you said you must make sure to make the time to keep the relationships going. Watching this brought me such hope. Also just started at a new church and trusting God will guide me and my husband to new ministries or to just take it all in now and just be. The most important thing is that we are near our daughter , husband and our new Grandbaby. We feel blessed to be near our one daughter and being with our grandson daily is our total joy. I’ve had a lifelong dream to learn to ride a horse and last week I had my first lesson!! I did it!! My challenge now: my husband has Stage IV SMLC. I’m running our business without him. My 85 yo mother who has Alzheimer’s lives with us (but thank God my sister has stepped up and offered to keep mom at her house for a little while)

Similar situation...After 30 years of being a stay at home wife and mom, i suddenly found out i was getting divorced. The Lord then blessed me with 3 of the best friends i could have ever imagined and a wonderful work place. A new venture in life in your fifties can be so very scary but full of life's blessings!

When I was 29, I moved from Wisconsin to Arizona and for many years before that I was praying that I would meet a good Christian man and good Christian friends. Well the doors flew open for me to move to Arizona and it wasn't even a month and I met these people! So cool the journey He takes us on!

I am a group of 10 ladies who all graduated from High School together (over 46 years ago) and for the past 14 years we have gotten together for a 4-day weekend once a year at someone's home. . . . . We live in 5 different states . . . . during COVID when we could not travel - we started monthly zoom meetings . . sometimes it's only 2-3 of us - sometimes it's all of us - but we work at keeping this important friendships together no matter what !!!! Distance may make it a bit difficult at times but at the same time - technology is an advantage to distance !!! God Bless you on this new move for you and you and Holly will make this work !!!!

We moved a lot. I was newbie with 4 children & a spouse off to his work. Lonely. However, I met my closest friends through all those moves. I feel blessed to have these fabulous women in my life.
Hi Dominique and Holly, I, for one, liked very much much that you spoke of faith and how important it is. They say when one door closes another one opens. Sometimes it’s hard waiting in the hall but, as you touched on, I try to be grateful for being in that hall. You girls also talked about learning from our struggles which is so very true. I also thank God for unanswered prayers. 8 years ago I went to Miraval in Tuscson. It was a mindfulness wellness retreat in partnership with More Magazine. It was one of the best experiences I ever had. I learned to really step outside of my comfort zone, and loved it! Life is what happens while you’re making other plans. Thanks so much for this video. I enjoyed it immensely!

Grateful for your stories. God, placed a very good friend in my path over 10 yrs ago, she lives right next door. I was contemplating a divorce, and she was in a behavioral health program to recover her PhD. We are close in our faith, throughout so many journeys that we have had. She has helped me and I believe I have helped her through so much…. Just having someone to trust you feelings and thoughts!!
I am sure this is a difficult time but i see this as the next step in the growth of your friendship. You clearly love and support each other and will continue to do so from a longer distance. My BFF lives in Ft. Lauderdale Florida while i live in VA. She moved almost 30 years ago. We talk on the phone almost every day and we are as close as we have ever been. You will see the same. D , I was born and raised in San Angelo, TX - Married for 17.5 yrs, 2 kids, and lots of travel with the Military! Yes, when I was young I was sad about moving out of my hometown, but after traveling and meeting the ppl that I have and I truly believe have put me in the place that I am for now (back in my hometown) but I don't believe I'm meant to stay in TX!! TN is more home than TX - scary to grow but WE MUST!! 💗💗💗

What you are describing is “LIFE” God gives us the freedom to choose. That’s the beauty of LIFE. One might choose to be an anchor, a hair dresser, etc. With those choices, brings opportunity, responsibility, commitment, connections, obstacles, and more. At which we make choices, paths, journeys, again and again. This is simply, LIFE. I am a lifelong born and raised Catholic. I’m not here for the religion. I realize you & Holley are recently divorced, in therapy, counseling, going through grief and both of you come across as having a newfound discovery of God. I would suggest going back to using your platform for what you initially intended it for. I think you’ll lose a lot of audience if you allow your friends to tell you that you should use your platform for sharing God. It’s great Holley is using her faith to help it get through all of her struggles. And you seem to be going through a lot, too. But if God only comes into your picture and Holley’s when things are rough and down and out, then how important can HE be?! God’s around and exists 24/7. No one is here on your platform for the religious hour. They are here for your style, make up, tips, beauty, and keen sense of everything. I am a 56 year Catholic. I will not be swayed into evangelical, reborn, or anything remotely close way of thinking that you or Holley could potentially push. I realize both of you are extremely vulnerable and fragile, maybe even lost right now. But I suggest you share the Bible study and prayer sessions to private FaceTime with each other. Not interested. Lifelong Catholic with traditions, customs, and my own prayer. Not interested in you or Holley’s advice. Neither one of you are college graduates in the area of religious sudies or experts.
Dominique, I'm a little green about your friendship. It's such a give and take. I have always had take relationships with girlfriends and family because everyone says your so strong so you can do and help. I'm now 56 and still can't say I have a friend like you and Holly have. Loved this conversation between you both! ❤️ So lucky to have each other. I had friends pass away & some move away. My bestie not too far, an hour 1/2 away, another friend 3 hours away. Went through being really sad. Wished we lived closer. But try to do my best & keep busy & visit. It does get harder finding & making new friends when getting older. Guessing it’s a talk show. Can’t wait to find out! 🥰
