I think the nerf sling fire is my favorite over all blaster of all time. The reason for which is that it is a sentimental reason so when the sling fire first came out my grandfather bought it for me for Christmas and one of his very many passions was playing with nerf blasters. And he had this big huge nerf collection of like 80 blasters which we would have fights with them all the time. So almost one year ago the doctor found out that he had cancer. And the last nerf war we had before he passed was with the sling fire so that is why it is my favorite blaster because one of my last memories of him was him tagging me out with my sling fire and that is why I love it so much because I love him.

I must advise getting metal gears for the sling fire. Even when stock it only takes 1 to 2 wars before the gears are worn down to a point where the gun is barely usable

Hello Captain I love the video and I am lining up modding a slingfire for a steampunk wildwest cosplay. Wanted to double check as the Worker Brand barrel kit for the slingfire is not the same it is much shorter. Hope you might be able to enlighten me on where the barrel kit might have come from? You did mention ETSY but was curious about who the maker of the barrel kit might be. Keep up the amazing work.
I don't get why the missprays were an issue. I would have worked them into the guns back story as residue from a corrosive fluid that got sprayed in those spots while the weapon was in use on a mission.
so the little lock up may be the screw on the prime housing oiece for the lever, but thats just my thought. it also could be the same problem i had, when priming the gun. i had to find a way to replace some of the gear bits that pull the spring and the little orange piece that grinds on the lever itself. again that was my thought and my problem with the gun.
Where does that dead space filler go? I have the worker kit for slingfire. The clutch definitely needed cutout, it won't prime without letting loose. I had put mine back to stock but now you have me curious to redo it! 🖒
That’s not gorilla tape, it looks like E tape, which has blood clotting agents in the adhesive, I carry a roll with me everywhere for that purpose, it’s better than bandaids

Well...internal magazine blasters exist...so clearly it is possible. Basically make a mag non-removable and open the jam door enough to load from the top.
Need this for my fallout cosplay. I'm just using the tube from a longshot's barrel attachment and that works for a pinch, but this gives a more realistic look to the rifle that I would love to get my hands on.
ok, This would be easier for me but at the moment I'm doing I a mod like this using a slingfire but I'm using the barrel from an xshot vigilante. I like the barrel but not the rest of the gun. I'll have to do a bit of cutting and gluing
Hi I tried to put the barrel onthis and when I opened it a few springs jumped out at me especially where the clutch is so now I dont know how it all goes back together........I have a 12kg and 7kg spring for an upgrade.....however can you help with the latter issue about the clutch and putting it all back together ?
@@CaptainXavier Yeah, I think I got mine from about a couple years later it was released (it doesn't have the prime override button), since I was a lot younger back then the stock was more than enough for me. But it's starting to get uncomfortable given the grip angle and the shortness overall. If I can't find a seperate printed stock that's longer than the one it came with, I'll try to make a removable add-on to the stock itself.

I think this was one of the videos I watched about the Slingfire that inspired me into maintaining mine after bricking it by misaligning the gears during a curious dissection of the blaster, if I hadn't got the inspiration it would probably still be stuck with a jammed action and possibly thrown into the trash. But now, it's kicking around better than it was fresh out of the box because I kept oiling it and finally fixed the worn out clutch. I just feel like it deserves something a little more special for surviving harsh play and weather.

On my stock Slingfire, I put some metal tubing into the barrel, and it actually increased accuracy and power by some degree. It was even noticeable!

I've actually had some luck with the Buzz Bee Double Shot. If you fix in the shells and run brass though them, it works quite nice.

Alan Zed it goes in the plunger tube. It acts as both a dead space filler and a plunger pad.

Hey cap loved the video. Definatly one of my favorite blasters. But how did you get it to take the 5kg spring? Mine wont prime with it installed.
I put a screw into the clutch so it will not slip anymore.
I had a slingfire but it just locked up one day and I never found out why. I even disassembled it to find out, but NOTHING

Do a Google Image search for "Slingfire Internals." There are plenty of pictures of where the internals should go.

Try the 12kg. The ratchet might not support it. You can disable the ratchet if you want or switch to the 7kg

One thing my brothers slingfire shoots rly slow the dart is not going deep it the barrel so the dart gets fires but the air does not push it far
