    Personally, I think to win or not, any GAME should be FUN. The biggest problem with Yu-Gi-Oh is that there's never a guarantee that'll be the case.

    I installed this game yesterday and tried casuals, for the first time, after watching this video to see if what you said is true. I built myself a Melffy deck. Joined a casual. On turn 1 got ash blossomed and negate comboed. Negated my Obedience Schooled, and Negated my Beaver token effect, and brought out almost 13000 damage in attack monsters from said negation. I got to play nothing. As a new Yugioh player and casual indeed, this is disgustingly off putting, and makes me not want to even play the game. If this is how the community is going to treat a "casual" match, I need to "Git gud" I guess...

      I mean i play branded despia however I never use ash blossom or Maxx-C. You really don’t need to as it ruins the flow of the deck for me. Sure I use powerful cards But I don’t go absolute ham on the opponent. Maxx-C and Ash Blossom need a nerf or a complete ban altogether. Sure I could bring out mirrorjade however it’s not always the right call to make. This is also why I do my deck testing in solo mode so no new players don’t get to suffer. I play on console BTW. Welcome to the shit show we call yugioh my friend. I’ve been playing since 2016 and I love this game just wish they could make people less toxic

      @@brandonthemyth6331that would be an interesting approach. They could let players disallow certain cards. Or Konami could just not allow certain staples/generic engines. Although the ladder would be a nightmare to balance and I think letting the player decide would be better

      It's a sign that master duel pro's aren't going to get laid at all. With their Maxx C's and ash blossoms and their combos just to waste everyone time. What happen to the good old days where their isn't any of that?

  • @entireanarchy2293
    @entireanarchy2293 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    We need era based formats, it's really that simple, I'd much rather play in the meta format from the zexal era or earlier when the game was more about playing against your opponent instead of just preventing them from playing. Also maybe a dedicated testing format where you could only use a deck receipt X amount of times with no changes and use decks you want to build but don't have the cards for yet which would encourage creativity and actual testing because you wouldn't have to waste gems or generate cards you might not end up using.

    • @KushiKush
      @KushiKush  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep, this is what a lot of people have wanted and Konomi the creators actually made IRL yugioh formats like Time Wizard and such, hopefully they implement that stuff into master duel for the people who just want to play the game they enjoy.

      @@KorinIta true but it wasn't as bad and for the most part tiers based on how powerful a deck is would look pretty similar to an era based format because power creep has been so bad every generation.

    • @KorinIta
      @KorinIta 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@entireanarchy2293 mmmh... depends? Because outside of Goat and Edison which are probably the most fait eras, most of the other formats are as unfair as now, because of the snowball effect that pot of greed, graceful charity, change of snatch steal, and much more. Whoever went first had a BIG advantage, in some cases even worst than now. The duel was decided by whoever drew those powerful drawing/stealing cards first, and it was often the going first person. A guy named Fierik Vod has been playing every era/format of yugioh (has just reached Edison) and most of those formats had bad banlist (charity and pot to 1 but behemoth banned???) and the snowball was so unfunny and there were tier 0 decks. I would recommend his series but... he's italian.

    i think most people who wants to practice their decks whether its a meta or a rogue deck deserves to utilize the casual match because thats what we have at the moment. it also discourage people already who just wants to bully people using their meta decks by not giving any rewards, they even cant accomplish missions here.
    i think what we really need is a real "practice mode". where you can battle opponents (can be a bot) with own selected deck for them.
    Or, still using the casual mode, but you can filter your opponents decks.

    If I haven't played in a hot minute I may pop into casual duels to get into the groove of things before I go into ranked if I'm not at Diamond 1 already.
    I personally do not like building inherently bricky decks. For me Bad or sub-par does not equal fun. I build decks to be at their best or close to it. Like, I love Weather Painters, but I'm not going to build the deck with losing in mind. Even in friendlies and casual duels I intend to win the duel. Just because I'm not playing the best deck available or don't care about losing doesn't mean I'm not going to try and win.

  • @Jyxero
    @Jyxero 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Ah, music to my ears... Casual should be a place where you can find odd decks like Prediction princess or Heroic, and attack with 1500 for game, instead of having to do so due to floodgates or a random negate
    But, isn't that applied to every mode? I mean, you can always create an account at YGO Edopro (I swear it's not sponsored) and get every card you want right away, so what's the point of even playing ranked aside of a couple of gems (Maybe not Duelist cup, as it can award with irl stuff)
    "Optimized" options kills creative deck building, (You forgot 3 "A hero lives" to bypass adventurer engine on your skit), because you mash up so many one card combos that aren't even related to the deck that is sad to watch... Farfa has an insane video of his board being teared apart, but then making an insane top deck next turn... If he actually played the deck in question (Roxrose dragon, guess which deck was playing)
    I'm way based against popular one card combos that doesn't belong to their archetype (Halq, verte), cheap bosses like DPE or Zeus or floodgates, but I understand those are great options when $$$ is on the line; I could play comfortably Rivalry after Auroradon leaves the field to see where's the Crystron or Mecha phantom synchro supposed to be summoned from that combo
    All I want from a duel is a interesting match, for example faced a Evil eye like 3 weeks ago (I'm a "filthy casual" who plays like 10 games per week) that destroyed and negated my cards like 8 times, yet I could strive at the end (Aromages) and I didn't find that annoying, but challenging instead, and why? Cause it wasn't cheap, but rather used all the resources on 1 card, and wasn't the same boring play but with different names to summon those
    That's a lot of text, so, sure, playing competitive cards on a competitive environment is acceptable, but on a place to chill? But just accept that people don't care about the other, and want to win at the end (I'm not a saint by any means, I use Harr as my omninegate in question), unless is with friends then Dice jar mirror match may happen

    Exactly! Casual duels are NOT ranked. If you dont get ranks or gems there is no point in putting your efforts towards winning. Casual duels are supposed to fun not sweaty competitions. Therefore the only deck i will take into casual duels is my luck based deck. Want to activate your monster effect? Guess what card is in my hand. Want to attack me? Heads or tails? 😂 Dotodoya introduced me to the luck deck. And it's the funnest deck I've ever played.

    In casual I have found that since there are no awards for winning or consequences for losing, many people don’t take the games seriously. Usually one of three things happen: (1) they go first but don’t like their opening hand and leave immediately, (2) they go first but as soon as you hit them with any interruption at all they immediately surrender because they can’t do their “perfect” opening anymore, or (3) they go second but clearly wanted to go first, so as soon as the board is set up they leave. It’s annoying and pointless.

It was basically Legacy Pack: The Deck and it was probably terrible but the theory behind it was solid for what I was trying to do and I was excited to try it against other bad decks. I think it goes both ways to be honest. If you run into some japanese/korean named ash blossom mate/card sleeve wearing tryhard, just scoop and go next. Like you said, you don't lose anything, you dont gain anything. It only takes like, 30 or so seconds to find another match. Ive personally been using casual as a practice/warm-up mode for my Machina deck, which isnt even meta, but I still get people who scoop the moment I use one of my two ash blossoms. I also run a casual Mecha Phantom Beast/Deskbot/Machina deck btw so not ALL the time.
    Going into ranked to practice your deck is like going into CSGO or Valorant ranked matches without even knowing your characters skills, or the bullet patterns of your guns. That would be stupid yeah? People need to try their combos against REAL people, see what their deck can do, how to get out of certain situations, deal with certain cards, but without the worry of completely not knowing what your doing first turn, and lose your rank.
    Look, im not neccesarily defending tryhards in casual either, but its easy to get around them when your not really required to win or lose. I never scoop because mama aint raise no BITCH, but I can see why others would, time and stuff. I dont even see THAT many negate boards, because its pretty easy to break them once you have the right deck. I run a Kaiju, forbidden droplet, having plenty of engine cards, ect. Just have a deck that can outpace them. You get a bad hand? Just move on to the next game. Not like they outplayed you or anything.
    If your really looking to play playground level decks, just find a friend and play in a room. You would probably enjoy this game WAY more. I mean, you can still find good games in casual as well, so its not even like you HAVE to, but were going by your logic here, no negates, only boomer cards. Watch Seereax or Dotodoya, they make a lot of fun videos and have a really great mindset when it comes to playing this silly card game.
    last thing ill say, if you run into someone with ash blossom sleeves/mate or have japanese/korean names, just leave. They will ALWAYS be using meta. I guarantee you.

    dont get angry when enough people complain and all the sweaty cards get removed on the next ban list in an effort for konami to keep the casual players

    Duuuude let me search for nice casual duel decks instead of complaints. I will say it again in case you dont read the comments on the other video.
    Maybe it is because we are near october and casual is out a good amount of time. I have so funny matches. People are trying stuff, they dont scoop after turn 2, no branded boards that make you pay taxes for every effect.
    My matches last long and the meta decks I play against are mostly people who try some tweeks and that is okay in casual. If I create a new meta deck I will test changes in casual too. You make it sound like it is about win win win win, when it also could be about "hmm okay is this working out better than the other setup?" and I think thats totally fine.
    If you really want to play old oldschool stuff then create a room for it with a community or just scoop when you see yourself getting totally rekt against a certain player.

      I think I did see your comment on the other video. But I would also recommend you reading the responses of others in the comments. I haven't tried casuals since I made this video. But when I did try it, man was it boring. It was just meta decks trying to play against weaker decks.
      Also I don't really get the argument of wanting to test decks, are you testing solitaire combos? Are you reading your own card effects in game? Why not try solo mode and play against bots if you don't know what your cards do. Because if you were actually trying to play meta you would test against the meta. Not causal players.
      Hope my comment clarifies that.

      @@KushiKush you did?
      I am playing cadual right now and I meet the most funny decks..
      How about you use your reach to built a community of trying decks and stuff.
      And yeah I agree. Trying meta deck tweeks in casual is purely cold and calculating. How good can I combo with my starting hand. Maybe even learn certain combos. Sure you can do it against bots but still there are some rewards you can get from casual aswell. For me personally I feel more connected playing against other people. Never tried meta decks in casual but I don't mind people either. I just leave.
      What are you saying about that? Judt leave when you see are whole ass meta combo.
      Since my comments I played casual and I saw so many creative decks lol. So if you are still into casual yugioh than give it a try. Another comment said that. Give it a try after a certain amount of time

      He didn't say it was all about winning, winning, winning; he was trying to convey, at least from my what i understood, that it was about having fun. That doesn't necessarily imply winning or losing; it simply means taking turns and allowing everyone to play the game, you know?
      I don't enjoy winning on turns 1, 2, or 3. I prefer to engage in a cool back-and-forth battle that lasts many turns.

    Bruh lol idc who you are, if you put blue eyes in your decklist, that shit dramatically gets worse lol, i see this guy forgor the support cards that blue eyes player was using and the chaos form? Lmao i run despia in casual because that shit is terrible in ranked but it is fun in casual because there are so many outs to despia rn it’s a joke lol

  • @stevenrobertson816
    @stevenrobertson816 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Imagine making an entire two TH-cam videos just to complain about blue eyes just because you don't know how to build a deck properly like man you ran three extra deck monsters you have no toolbox to stop anything any deck would have beat you and you would have been upset about it sounds like you're more sad that you lost because you won't get with the times then you were treated unfairly

    I’m going to say the same thing as I did last time.
    You complain yet you choice DPE of all cards? You’re just as bad. DPE is too powerful for causal even if you’re running less search cards for it. Like no one wants to play against that in casual man.
    Also yes there will be players who can’t compete in ranked will jump to casual just for the wins.
    You’ll wanted casual but didn’t expect people to go for broke here too.
    As mentioned before you’re just as bad for choosing dpe

    • @KushiKush
      @KushiKush  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You got to understand, DPE is really only good cause of Verte, a monster which is easy to make and allows you to summon dpe almost always. But yeah dpe is strong, but I purposely left out powerful engines that can let me make him easy.

      Your absolutely right, my first experience was against I believe last turn OTK lol, I had no idea what was going on. And then against Infernity OTK. I still fell in love with the game, even though my first deck was a 50 card random dragon deck.

    People have fun winning, with or without rewards, you clearly don't understand card games and are being a casual elietist

      If you want to play to win in casuals go ahead. But Ranked would be more fulfilling and rewarding ;)

    5:45 the point of ranked is to win. So the point of casual is what?

    • @KushiKush
      @KushiKush  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      In Konomi's word's. "A random Duel with no effect on rank or level. Build an innovative Deck and duke it out with your rivals!"
