    Hello. I tried to blend water, oils, Propanediol and soy lecithin and it did not blend well. It is still very seperated. Can you please advise me on what I may have done wrong?

    • @greenbeautychemist.
      @greenbeautychemist.  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To blend water with oil, you need a solubiliser. I will advise you to learn cosmetic formulation.

      This is not how formulations are made. I don't do DIYs because they are unstable. In cosmetic formulation, all your ingredients should total 100%

  • @gmc___
    @gmc___ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is it stable? I put it in a stove of 40 degrees celcius and I got a layer of solubilizer/oil on top of my water the next day.

    • @greenbeautychemist.
      @greenbeautychemist.  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      May be you didn't use enough solubilizer. It is not stable. A very solubilized mixture should not separate.

    • @gmc___
      @gmc___ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@greenbeautychemist. Thank you for replying! At room temperature it does seem solubilized. I will try adding more.

    Thanks for your video. Very useful. I would like to ask for commercial Essential oil room/linen spray recipe using preservative (such as Optiphen plus ) and poly 20 or caprylyl/capryl glucoside. I try poly 20 before but the outcome was so milky. I prefer the clear fomulation. Thank you

    • @greenbeautychemist.
      @greenbeautychemist.  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      polysorbate 20 will always make a milky emulsion. You need to learn cosmetic formulation to make commercial version

    Do I need to heat/boil the water and add it hot in the mix?

    • @greenbeautychemist.

      No you don't have to heat the essential oil or water when you use a solubilizer

    I am making an oil mixture for my hair. I also want to put it in a sprayer. I’ll use carrier oils AND essential oils. Do I still need water?

    • @greenbeautychemist.

      It all depends on how your product is formulated. Not all hair spray needs water

    Hi !
    What about a carrier oil and Tego solve 61? What should the ratio be then?
    I tried solubilizing 3% fractionated coconut oil and 3% Tego but when mixing with the rest of my formula it didn’t seem to blend well. Seems like the oil is sitting a bit on top 🤔

    • @greenbeautychemist.

    Hi, Good day! thank you for the video I hope you could help me.. I'm currently experimenting a deodorizer for class that's good for motor cycle helmets, shoes, etc. would essential oils and water enough? or I need to add something to neutralize the odor/bacteria? I hope you could recommend some, thank you very much!

    • @greenbeautychemist.
      @greenbeautychemist.  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Deodorant formulation is more than just adding essential oils to water. There is more to that. It is beyond the scope of this video. If your goal is to sell it to the public, get someone to formulate it for you.

      @greenbeautychemist.  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@oliviamakeupartistoliviaog3906 Isopropyl Alcohol is not a solubilizer, it won't mix. You need a solubilizer to make essential oil mix with water. A good option is Polysorbate 20 amzn.to/35RPimF
