Then the player changes - Vikes add Hockenson, a fully fit Addison who had only 3 of the previous 8 weeks at practice with Sam, add Akers, and replace Robinson for Darrisaw on offence, and add Cashman and see the emergence of Redmond and Turner through the season. The Lions lose Montgomery on offence, and on defence lose half their D Line rotation - McNeill, Houston, Rodriguez, Wingo - their best CB - Carlton Davis and his back ups Dorsey and Rakestraw, and at best get an underprepared Anzalone back. These changes might reflect in the result more than many folks assume.
