@@Hyperpandas No, by blocking their investors from engaging in a technology that's clearly growing in size, use case and development throughout the whole world. Regulation is necessary yes, you've got 1 bit of information correct, but the way in which they do it matters. Doing these wild arbitrary and unpredictable massive enforcements against the biggest exchanges makes it impossible for the typical investor to get in this growing technology without having to face fear and doubt.
You should slack off on your student of history thing and work on being a student of finance and technology instead, because you're clearly lacking in that department not to understand all that.
The US can't. They're not elected. They're just overlords and given their actions in crypto it's blatantly obvious they don't give a flying f*** about regulation or rule of law. They care about power and politics. Full stop.

Gensler basically said there that the reason is that "we don't need any more digital currencies, we already have the USD...". So then he sues unfairly not based on the law, but rather because he, and others, do not want cryptocurrencies to succeed. I don't see how this can stand up in court.

The timing of this is intresting considering the CBDC will launch in july as a way for banks to have direct access to the fed for a life line. Its clear that crypto is a threat to this additional layer of the economic ponzie scheem. Im not in crypto at all and i think it serves as a good case study if anything, thst people should be able to invest in it at their own risk if they choose to.

crypto has attributes like a currency. But it does a heck of a lot more. To label it as a currency, security, commodity, etc. Shows the lack of education the world has on this space. We are still so early that people can't wrap their heads around what these open, permissionless protocols can do.
CBDCs are not for banks. They are for the public and will make all comercial banks obsolete!

Gensler is not being honest about our digital environment. Wire transfers, if they were truly digital, would be instantaneous. Banks can’t even help customers with basic external transfers to other bank accounts. It’s really just lying to the public about the current state of affairs. Just because someone buys a security doesn’t mean there’s not some piece of paper with a broker, somewhere. Shame on SEC

Bank transfers are almost instantaneous. I do it often. But most banks don't do it on purpose.
It's not so much about it being digital as it is decentralized.
$USD $EUR $GBP etc are in no way decentralized.
Digital dollars and every other digital fiat being hyperinflated away and the way corrupt governments hand out their monopoly money to their closest friends and then get kick backs with money they printed. Just so much corruption everywhere in the world because of all these fiat debt ponzi schemes. Biggest difference between digital fiat and Bitcoin, is that Bitcoin is a hard money asset that people can trust won't be hyperinflated away.

The lady is not the sharpest pencil..... the regulator can change its mind and require adicional fillings, but they didn't do that. They decided not to provide any concept or create any law and all of the sudden decided to put everyone in court to decide on the laws they were supposed to be making.

Hongkong has clear registration rules for crypto exchanges but US does not have. Coinbase and Binance US have been running for years in US. They must have registered somewhere somehow to run business in US. Now SEC suddenly woke up and said they did not registered or did not registered right. SEC shall set up clear registration rules first like Hongkong so these companies could follow.

The grounds of the lawsuit contradict the initial position of the SEC. The world cannot clasify crypto as free market. And 1 chair from 1 country clasify some tokens he dont like as securities because yes. Also when CFTC also is trying to clasify them as comodities. Before throwing lawsuits. SEC and CFTC should sit on a table and diclose asset by asset. Then take action alongside with the exchanges . Is the right way to do it. Gensler messed up with this move. Big time

Bitcoin price has not been doing really well lately infant the whole stock market, buying the dip isn't a tough call and it's a very tough call to figure out what to do aside holding. The good thing about the space is that you can buy the dips and put them into active trades, while confidently waiting for a pump in price because it is inevitable. Most people do not understand how the space works. Charts won't guarantee what an asset is going to do. Prices are go up and down and despite the that, the market has been profitable to me. I've always played safe implementing trades with insights and signals from a pro trader Rebecca Catherine. I made 2.5 BTC from the recent crash in the market within a period of two weeks.

Very disappointed with Gary Gensler's actions. Considering his background of teaching a class on blockchain at MIT, it's clear he has a strong understanding of the technology. However, his approach towards Coinbase, a company that has made significant strides to act responsibly and maintain good corporate citizenship, is simply unjustifiable. That argument is so bad. Even if the SEC letting them IPO means they didn't approve of their business, they still waited two years to bring a suit and therefore were not protecting the the investing public.
Crypto never boasted about being "digital". It's about trustlessness, openness, uncensored financial system. If Gary doesn't get that, he obviously never read about Bitcoin.

But they did change their mind. That is the whole point of due diligence when applying to become a publicly traded company. You submit everything about your company to be looked over and then the SEC decides if you can be or should be traded as a public company. The SEC absolutely gave their consent to this process and then almost 3 years later decided they changed their mind. This looks like sour grapes to me. The SEC has lost their battle against XRP and the ultimate point is that you can't control crypto. Not only that you can't control crypto but no one person should control it. The SEC is looking to redeem themselves from their failures with XRP and they set their sights on Binance and Coinbase. Gary Gensler is the kind of corrupt bureaucrat that we don't need as we move forward with the block chain technology. We need someone who is going to embrace it but put in regulatory measures that ensures people don't get scammed by places like FTX.
