Peter Buck doesn't get the recognition he deserves, the speed that he plays the arpeggio, and the control to hit the strings correctly is amazing, as Mike Mills once said "Peter has the best right hand in the business", that and the combination of a Rickenbacker 360 and a Vox AC30 are only 1/4 of the R.E.M. sound, Mills bass lines are also underrated along with Bill Berry's drumming and Michael Stipe's vocals Another thing that is underrated is Mills and Berry's backing vocals, R.E.M. we're a very unique group, one we will never see the likes of again.
This is my favorite off the "Out Of Time" record. X (Twitter) said today is an anniversary that Out Of Time topped the Billboard 200 after being there 8 weeks. "40,000 stars in the evening" projects such a beautiful picture of peace and serenity. "40,000 reasons for living" is how I feel about my life. R.E.M. tells my life story in their songs. Thanks to the cool person who requested it!✌️🎶💙 BTW, Shawn, it was Peter Buck's guitar that hooked me into R.E.M. back in 1982 when I first heard them
You can never go wrong with R.E.M., such an incredible band with a rich catalogue. I'd recommend "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?" as your next reaction to them.
‘Out of Time‘ This album is a masterpiece.
In REM, the drummer, Bill Berry also added some background harmony vocals on most songs. But Mills and Stipe were the only members who ever sang lead.

I know this had to be your request. 😊
Love his reactions on R.E.M.
@@joycehall4866 it was not my request!!! I was going to request it, though!!!! I selected something else, that will come up soon!!!!!
I think he would love Harborcoat live 1985.
@@joycehall4866 I think so too!!!
Such a talented band.
Love that bass.

None!
@@subwaygoddess1 countryfeedback is a must listen!
@@willfromyadkinville that whole album is magic! Country feedback with Neil Young guesting is also amazing!
Every song from their catalog takes me back to Athens where they used to play for free. Great time to be there and be 18
I wanted to go to college in Athens because of them! But by then they'd already hit the mainstream.
I wish I'd been there😊
Mike Mills vocal and bass. There are strings on this track. They used strings throughout the entire album
Stipe sings harmony and the chorus and a short lead vocal during a bridge part
Monster is one of my favorite REM albums. So many great rock songs on it.
Great analysis Shawn, as usual!
Creia que la perfeccion no existia pero hoy la descubri O.O
❤❤❤
Mike Mills, REM's secret weapon, on vocals.
Great song by them. One of my all-time favorite REM songs is also on this 'out of time' album.. check out "Country Feedback" when you get a chance.
Hell ya !!!!
