I actually wrote a novel about exactly this, when I was in high school in the '80's. I got to page 210, then contacted a publisher, who told me that it would cost me personally $13,000. to get it published (as I was an unknown author with no history of successfully selling books). That ended the novel at about half completion. I 'shelved' it, but kept the 210 written pages, until I lost them forever when I moved (in the rush to vacate my apartment, I believe I accidentally threw it out). I was later on REALLY pissed that I had lost all that work (though parts of it were REALLY bad, other parts were stunning). All I remember now is one particularly, really bad part, and the opening to the 4th draft (I started with Fleet in the crow's nest, with the first sentence of the book being, "He stood there watching". The intent was to evoke curiosity to get you to continue to read: who is "he"? Why was he 'watching'? What is he watching for?. That kind of thing, hook the reader in immediately). I wish that (despite the bad parts), I hadn't been so in a hurry to move, that I had managed to keep that half-novel. It was a HELL of a lot of work for a teenager, only to be totally lost. Hurts to this day.
Here is what I think would have happened if she missed the iceberg: The Titanic set sail at April 10th 1912 and avoided a near collision with and iceberg on the 14th. She arrived at NYC two days later. After captain Smith's retirement, the Titanic continued her transatlantic business and then WW1 happened. After war started, many ships sunk out in the Atlantic due to U boats. Many people lose their lives due to lack of lifeboats. Thus, a new rule is implemented that ships must carry enough lifeboats. The Titanic is converted into a troopship or hospital ship. WWI CENARIO 1: The Titanic along with her two sisters serve as troopships and hospital ships for britan. Unfortunately, the Titanic and Britannic both sink during the war. This got WSL in trouble after the war. WSL went bankrupt soon after. WWI CENARIO 2: The Titanic and the Olympic survive the war and WSL gets back 2/3 Olympic class liners after the war. CENARIO 2 FOLLOW UP: The two sister ships are now war heroes. The continue there jobs and are famed. NANTUCKET LIGHTSHIP CENARIO 1: after WSL and Cunard continue their fierce competition, disaster strikes. A Nantucket lightship is rammed by Olympic on accident. This put WSL in debt. thus, it is forced to merge with Cunard and Titanic, Olympic and Mauretania are scrapped. NANTUCKET LIGHTSHIP CENARIO 2: both of the ships continue successful careers. They end their service without any further problems. MERGER WITH CUNARD CENARIO 1: The WSL and Cunard are later forced to merge. Unfortunately, the WSL decided to scrap some of their smaller ships, leaving them with lesser ships that Cunard. Thus, they both merge and Titanic, Olympic and Mauretania are scrapped. MERGER WITH CUNARD CENARIO 2: The WSL decided not to scrap their smaller ships, making them them dominant company. WSL merges with Cunard and earns the ownership of the RMS Queen Mary in the process. POST MERGER CENARIO 1: After swallowing up Cunard, it is decided that Olympic, Titanic and Mauretania are too old and are all sold to the scrapyard. POST MERGER CENARIO 2: WSL makes the decision to preserve the 3 1910s giants. They are preserved as museum ships, hotel ships or cruises. POST MERGER CENARIO 3: only 1 or 2 of the giants are preserved.
Had there been an echo sounder aboard the collision may have been avoided. They were in use on some ships. Probably not fitted to ships like Titanic due to the noise in cabins at night keeping first-class passengers awake.
What if it really didn't sank 😔? Thank you for this video, I really dreamt of seeing Titanic reached the shores of New York and you just did that. I think that's the best part of this video. It felt like the passengers who lost their lives finally reached their destination.
If Titanic never hit the iceberg and finished her maiden voyage, she would've reunited with Olympic when she made it home and met Britannic at least 2 years later. And if Britannic never sank, she and her older sisters would've worked together in WWI.
how it will miss iceberg is call slow down to 28 or 30 mph is going 37 mph in the iceberg field and slow down to 30 mph and after the impact speed was 25 mph
Well, if WSL had stayed strong and survived until these days, maybe I would've had a real rival, instead of those ugly slow cruise "boxes" I had to deal with. More people drive Toyotas than Aston Martins - if you know what I mean.
If titanic miss the iceberg then 1500 souls could go to America and meet there loved one's and 707 did not have to face this trauma of losing there loved one's and 2200 (people who were in titanic would go to America safe and sound
I wonder why they never tried to dock her at Newfoundland in Canada (that was the closest area to Titanic) because she started properly sinking after an hour, if they went fast enough and was careful about other icebergs with pure luck she might have survived, they tried to beach Britannic at Kea which was the closest area but there was another explosion and the captain said "We're not going to make it, signal our position and we are abandoning ship" but she was still able to sail while listing
@Andrew True and then I thought she could have been towed but that would have been impossible because the only ship with enough power to do that was Olympic but Olympic was on a return voyage to Southampton and days away from her sister, she sped there to try and help but didn't make it in time, she offered to take on the survivors and return them to Southampton but Carpathia said this not a good idea and Olympic resumed her voyage while Carpathia took the survivors to New york
If Titanic never struck the iceberg then she wouldn’t be as well known and famous, however I think it would have been for the best if the tragic event never happened. I think the reason Titanic is so famous is because she was designed to be the most popular and sensational ship at her time, even her looks. a A lot of people were talking about the ship. Even the name “Titanic” has an easily memorable buzz to it. And then the tragic event happened, where a lot of things were happening famously. And then her wreck was discovered at the bottom of the Atlantic, and then a movie of her story was created.
1. titanic was sailing through a massive ice field on the night of the collision. Had she missed the iceberg, she likely wouldve hit another and sank, as captain smith ignored the ice warnings and steamed full speed into the ice. 2. the verrozano narrows bridge wasnt built til the 1960s
If Titanic had not sunk, the rule requiring enough life boats for everyone wouldn’t come out for several years after (or at least until there is another great loss of life) Like, this world could be totally different. The richest man in the world died for instance. Say he and all of the other rich people kept on producing heirs, we could have a totally different world. We would have people in power that we had never heard of, but because of the reality we live in, we can obviously only speculate at what could’ve happened. However, a major disaster was unavoidable based on the life boat rule alone. So basically, if it had not been the Titanic, it would’ve been another ship (that could possibly be bigger and have more people thus making the disaster far worse) Also, if the Titanic had not sunk, it is safe to say that many people would’ve never even heard of her. We would have no Titanic movies. Like history would be totally different
By this scenario, Olympic would not get her Tank top, Brittanic would not have been built with all the safety systems built in as a result of the Titanic sinking and subsequent investigation. Leading to a trio of ships with inadequate life boats and watertight integrity. But an interesting theory.
Interesting video. If the Titanic had missed the ice that night than ship safety would not have changed and larger ships would still have too few lifeboats for all onboard. As for World War I who's to say. The Britannic struck a mine and sank. The Olympic was lucky that the torpedo that struck her failed to detonate. As for the Titanic who knows? She might have survived or she might have sank. We will never know.
If Titanic wouldn't have sank, some other ship would have and I think the safety regulations would've been changed anyway. The latest stricter SOLAS (Safety Of Life At Seas) regulations came in 2010 and caused many ships to retire because it would have been too expensive to upgrade them.
Titanic: Hi! Iceberg: Hi There! Titanic: Wait! (Imagines Getting Hit By Icebreg!) Titanic: *Turns Around* NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. SO MUCH NOPE. Icebreg: HEY WHERE ARE U GOING! Titanic: I TALK TO YOU LATER! BYE! Icebreg: Aww... I Just Wanna Make Friends!
Think of it this way, Titanic would've been considered so popular that they would decide to convert her into a modern hotel/museum like Queen Mary, I'm thinking somewhere in Orlando or The Gulf of Mexico, maybe even in Brooklyn.
I remember someone made what if featuring if the titanic missed the iceberg it was similar to this as she would’ve been converted to a hospital ship in World War I and in it he had the reverse rescue and had the titanic rescue the passengers and crew of the Carpathia when she was hit by a u boat.
She would have survived a head on collision believe it or not. The reason for this is because if it struck the iceberg head on it would only breach two compartments the forward most which would allow the ship to stay afloat but with a slight tilt and if watertight doors were closed at the right moment she could easily have not even tilted.
In all seriousness the titanic disaster was influential to better safety precautions such as more life boats without it sinking we’d have a lot of sunken ships but if another disaster sparked the safety precautions then well it would be basically the same as our timeline.
1. I doubt that she would arrive on the night of the 16th. The crew would have stopped to alert Smith and to adjust a new course and speed to avoid any more ice. She would have been delayed considerably by this and, at best, would have arrived in the late afternoon of the 17th. 2. Nothing could have saved WSL from their fate, even without the irreparable damage caused by the Titanic disaster. The British government forced Cunard and WS to merge and downsize their oversized, aging fleets. Titanic would simply have joined Olympic at the scrapyard.
How do you got Titanic boat in vehicle simulator demo i downloaded boat Britannic it is not adding boats in vehicle simulator send link of Titanic boat pls👏😩
If Titanic missed the iceberg, or survived the collision, it then would have faced the risk of meeting the fate that befell the Carpathia, Lusitania, Brittanic and many other ocean liners. Many of them were sunk by German mines and U-boats during WW-1. Brittanic was redesigned extensively as a result of the loss of Titanic, and yet a mine blowing a hole in the same spot Titanic was opened up by an iceberg sank her in 55 minutes. The difference was she had more than enough lifeboats for everyone aboard and help was quick to arrive. The only deaths associated with her demise were people who launched lifeboats before the engines could be stopped, those boats were pulled into the propellers and smashed to bits along with their occupants. If Titanic survived the war, she would have certainly been converted from using coal to fuel oil and quite possibly would have served to at least the 1930's like her sister Olympic.
My opinion is that a maritime disaster on the scope of the Titanic was inevitable at some point. If not the Titanic itself after successfully avoiding the iceberg, then another ship will eventually go down with great loss of life (perhaps even greater), thus sparking an immense controversy like Titanic originally had. Maybe the circumstances of the new sinking will be similar or it could be totally different, but one thing for certain is that the characteristic of insufficient lifeboats for those onboard will persist for some time if Titanic survives (as the prevailing practice of using lifeboats as ferries will continue).
Why is the golden gate bridge/ brook (???) Bridge is here? The golden gate, i think it was built on 1930s, and the brook (???) Bridge maybe built on 1936.
@@luayon The statement indicates: If Titanic fled from the iceberg (setting all engines on "full astern" [10 minutes before collision with iceberg])...
It all seems so easy, to prevent Titanic's fate, but it realy isn't, because of Captain Smith. If she had survived, including WW1, then I'm sure there would have been a chance that either she or the Olympic or both would have been turned into a Hotel Ship like the RMS Queen Mary.
2:47 In an alternate timeline of where the Titanic was scrapped in 1935 (I know the link is the whistle of her big sister. But, this is also how the Titanic sounded before sinking): Police Officer: He says the Titanic just arrived. Titanic: th-cam.com/video/pmt9vyKWUY8/w-d-xo.html
I live near all of the main Titanic cemeteries. In fact I can see the infamous "J Dawson" grave from my living room window. Yea, that is how close I am to people that were on Titanic. Some vids regarding this on my channel if anyone is interested. Thank you for this video, Blue Star Line.
Then ice berg watch would not have been engaged and ships would not be supplied with more lifeboats, who knows what other major tragedy would have hapened instead
If Titanic didn’t sink in 1912 and there wasn’t a disaster of similar magnitude in peacetime to cause the regulatory changes, WWI would have been far more disastrous to allied shipping. Lusitania would still be torpedoed and sink with a massive loss of life. Britannic would have sunk with far greater casualties and it would be the war that would cause the updates to safety that were desperately needed. On the positive side: Murdoch, Wilde, Lightoller, and Boxhall would have had long careers with White Star Line and been known as some of their most famous captains. Granted I think with the 1934 White Star Cunard Merger Titanic and Aquitania would have been spared the breakers. Olympic and Mauritania replaced by Oceanic (III) Majestic and Berengaria replaced by Olympic (II) the Queens never built as White Star had majority share so instead we would have the Big O’s. Titanic and Aquitania would serve out WWII but showing her age Titanic would be scrapped in 1949 and Aquitania the former flag ship of the Cunard Line following in 1950.

Oh No My Iceberg Gone What Should I Do
Why is the golden gate bridge/ brook (???) Bridge is here? The golden gate, i think it was built on 1930s, and the brook (???) Bridge maybe built on 1936.
I love this video so much
What's the piano tune here?
She missed the iceberg! Good job, mate!
Didn’t this video have the song carribian blue in it?
What if: Hawke sank the olympic
What happened to the white star line in 1934?
If Titanic Flying From Iceberg
what
@@luayon The statement indicates: If Titanic fled from the iceberg (setting all engines on "full astern" [10 minutes before collision with iceberg])...
I appreciate this star line
It all seems so easy, to prevent Titanic's fate, but it realy isn't, because of Captain Smith.
If she had survived, including WW1, then I'm sure there would have been a chance that either she or the Olympic or both would have been turned into a Hotel Ship like the RMS Queen Mary.
Sweet video, I think this is the most likely thing to happen
The Verrazano Narrows bridge was built n 1964.
Hwat was the original song before the audio change
Why is the music different?
Captains: WE MISSED THE ICEBERG! :D

In an alternate timeline of where the Titanic was scrapped in 1935 (I know the link is the whistle of her big sister. But, this is also how the Titanic sounded before sinking):
Police Officer: He says the Titanic just arrived.

I live near all of the main Titanic cemeteries. In fact I can see the infamous "J Dawson" grave from my living room window. Yea, that is how close I am to people that were on Titanic. Some vids regarding this on my channel if anyone is interested.
Thank you for this video, Blue Star Line.
I can feel the excitement of the people who aboard Titanic to reached New York 😢
cool vid m8
Then ice berg watch would not have been engaged and ships would not be supplied with more lifeboats, who knows what other major tragedy would have hapened instead
The most beautiful hospital ship it would have been!
Isn’t the logo a mixed logo from Wall-E (BNL)
