Matt if this is true, it’s sad. This ‘racist label’ has only been applied to Phil and it’s just an opinion. Phil’s drunkenness has tarnished what Pantera really stood for. Dimebag was/is the greatest metal guitarist that’s ever been. You can’t be into metal and ignore Pantera. They literally saved metal in the early 90’s.
When did they say that? I keep reading comments about it, but I've never heard them say it. And Phil himself responded to their "Walk" reaction video and had a lot of good things to say about them, that comment got thousands of likes.
They said on Twitter (I think) that they wouldn't be reacting to Pantera anymore because of Phil's racist comments. And Phil responded before they knew about it.
I know that Hangar 18 was a huge request but I've honestly seen even more for Cemetery Gates by Pantera (at least on TH-cam). I'm not even a huge Pantera fan but you guys gotta do this song.
Adam Wilson they say they’re conflicted about doing another Pantera song in one of their tweets... it’s why they only did Vinnie Paul’s drumming for suicide note.
Interesting, "Call of Ktulu" by Metallica was co-written by Dave & has same exact chord progression as "Hangar 18." Compare them, it is amazing how similar yet different they are.
Jerry Davis The more you learn about music, the more amazing an art it is. There are some people with just a few chords but so much imagination. I do not wish to start anything argumentative, but there are guys like John Petrucci who are living encylopedias of music thoery. But John is not recognized as much a creative songwriter as Bob Dylan as example. In my opinion, it is room for both! I love the technical music, but also the art side. Depends on the mood. ☺
If you watch a video or two from this album you can immediately start to figure out who is soloing. Marty is exotic sounding and Dave plays a lot of quick pentatonic riffs. This was the pinnacle of Thrash. Every single song was a masterpiece.
What a coincidence, I'm wearing my Rust In Peace shirt and you guys upload this one! Hell yeah! And Dave and Marty were trading off solos at the end there. This entire album has my favorite solos of all-time! And metal is really creative when it comes to transitions. Great video, guys!
Megadeth has been in my top 5 fav bands since 1995. I was 14 years old, and I saw the video for Train Of Consequences on MTV. That song blew me away. I've been a big fan since. Lucky to have seen them live a few times.
They probably wouldn't like anything from Testament's first album to be honest. I think they should go with something off Formation of Damnation, like More Than Meets the Eye or The Persecuted Won't Forget.
Nothing makes me happier than when people discover the awesomeness of music I've been geeking out to since my childhood:) You guys absolutely made my day...Thanks for sharing!!
I believe it is time for some OZZY OSBOURNE. He is a founder of the entire genre and has been overlooked so far. He deserves the respect for that fact alone.
It’s a shame you’ve only done songs off one album from Megadeth. Peace Sells was my favorite album of theirs. “Good Morning/Black Friday “ is a killer song from that one.
Good Mourning/ Black friday is the best Megadeth song in my opinion, but I think they would not enjoy it, wake up dead, dystopia or sweating bullets are better suggestions...
They still haven’t done Polaris. Or Five Magics. Or... Point being, this album is the greatest thrash album of all time. Not to say they don’t have other songs worth checking out, would love to see a reaction to like half of Peace Sells... My suggestion would be The Conjuring, but you really can’t go wrong on those two albums.
Bad Omen it's probably my favorite off of that album, but I doubt they'd like it. It's too aggressive and fast for them I'd think. The Conjuring or Wake up Dead would be more up their alley.
Both were shredding. Marty has a more articulate sound in his solo very precise and beautiful. Dave is just shredding like hell, very aggressive sounding and muted. Very different styles that make a kick ass line up.
Nice, this was definitely a "must hear" song, one of Megadeth's very very best! Hopefully you'll check out some of the lesser requested thrash masterpieces like "Desperate Cry" by Sepultura "Some Pain Will Last" by Kreator or "Time Does Not Heal" by Dark Angel
Glad to be supporting you guys!! Hope you can listen to some Enslaved eventually, Roots of the Mountain or Building With Fire would be awesome picks! A bit similar to Opeth, and Ne Obliviscaris and Oceans of Slumber opened for their EU tour last year!
Marty Friedman has a unique sound. To answer your question, both Dave and Marty had solos in this song. Marty always has an exotic sound with extended vibratos in his solos. Whereas Dave has a thrashy shred to his playing. Marty's tone is crisp and bright. Dave's tone, while still great, has a bit more muffle to it.
I like that you guys actually give interesting insights that had never occurred to me after listening to this song for years, and you cut out the parts where you guys aren’t talking. I wish all reaction channels were like this because I would start watching these more.
No, they should listen to something off of Peace Sells or KIMB. Rust in Peace has been all they've listened to. Besides, Take No Prisoners isn't even that good of a song, it's very basic.
Very basic? It's the most technical and "brutal" song off of Rust In Peace. It's so much fun to play and it's mesmerizing if you know how or actually see someone play it.
Yes, it's technical. Yes, it's brutal. But that doesn't necessarily make it a good song. The vocals are weak, the lyrics are subpar, and the drums are off too. It's just a filler song.
Nah man, the lyrics are good and pretty humorous and fit great within the song. Dave's vocals on the remaster are god awful I will admit but on the original version they're pretty intense and I love it. If you haven't listened to the original, you need to. The drums are great too, don't know what you're smoking. Maybe it's because I'm a musician myself but I always loved the drum lines. Playing this song with my band is extremely satisfying when the drummer would play the leads and roll just like Nick. I would always look over to our singer and he'd be smiling at me and the drummer because it's just so epic. Also, the fact that it is "brutal" and "technical" being supposedly not what makes a song good is really bizarre to hear when it comes to Megadeth. A lot of the appeal of Megadeth I think is just how brutal and technically complex they can be without even sounding like a different genre. It's why Megadeth is one of my favorite bands. Still, overall, I think it's a great song and very impressive, even to untrained ears. If you wanna talk filler, honestly Hangar 18 is filler since it was in fact an afterthought. Dawn Patrol and Poison Was The Cure (still love that one) are much more filler. I think Take No Prisoners is one of the strongest songs of the album.
This is one of MEGADETH'S best ever songs, taken from what I consider their masterpiece album - 1990's 'Rust In Peace'. In the 1990's while Metallica were busy selling out their underground Thrash / Speed Metal roots, MEGADETH became the best hardcore band. Dave Mustaine's a GENIUS.
You've done, like, the Megadeth "legend" trio, you've basically covered Metallica's every side, all left from the slayer trio is angel of death, you are getting into anthrax slowly steadily, but we need more pantera.. Few recommendations-- •Cowboys from hell (you better listen) •Domination (pleeaaassseee!?!?!?) •cemetery gates (beautiful) •floods (yaaas)
TeamAtFort i kinda get you, but every band has signature style, which anthrax totally has. Anthrax. Im not really a big fan of. But songs like caught in a mosh are nice. But they dont really that much of mind blowing material. Its basically thrash for thrash's sake. Kinda like if you take Metallicas kill em all, and continue that for your entire career.
Hangar 18 and Holy Wars are both from Rust in Peace which is a amazing album! Kiss - Unholy Megadeth - Fatal Illusion Whitesnake - Still of the Night Van Halen - Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do Queensryche - Empire
Please give Death another chance these are my favorite Voice of soul (instrumental) Spirit crusher Empty words Tanks for the video you guys are awesome.
I think that "the four horsemen" (Metallica) and "mechanix" (megadeth) in the same reaction would be entertaining. Upvote if you agree.... (B.T.W. they are the same song basically, mustaine played it with metallica then created a Megadeth version)
I like iced earth. But times I've played them for other metalheads I'm told they sound dry. I think Iced Earth is the 90s/00s Testament. Some will like it, others not. The masses need a little more hook and flair. Not a bad thing, really.
Nah, I'd say they're pretty much rated. Neither over or under. Ten different singers. Wild fluctuations of quality. Egomaniac guitarist. They are what the are.
If it hasn't already blown your mind, the 3 Megadeth songs you've listened to are all from the same album. Rust In Peace was an amazing collection and an instant classic.

Dave does the lightning scales while Marty is the more artistic almost freestyle like solos......killer shredders no matter what
Seriously guys, you HAVE to react to Cowboys from Hell - Pantera.
Didn't they say they weren't going to react to Pantera anymore? I'm surprised people can't take no for an answer
Nick P that comment got 11k likes
Now Megadeth - In My Darkest Hour
Or A Tout Le Monde
Needs to be done
Jacob Graves I wouldn’t say it’s their worst, but there are much better songs for the guys to react to IMO 🤘🏻
To my darkest houuuuuuuuuuuuur
@@Back-Space. à tout le monde. À tout mes amis. Je vous aime. Je dois partir.
Welcome home (Sanitarium)- Metallica!!!!! You won’t regret it
Dylan Lawson good song. Compared to this..... hahahah
TheCrazyCanuck420 You’re not wrong... lol
Brutality solos = Dave Mustaine.
Melodic solos = Marty Friedman.
They are both monsters!
I know that Hangar 18 was a huge request but I've honestly seen even more for Cemetery Gates by Pantera (at least on TH-cam). I'm not even a huge Pantera fan but you guys gotta do this song.
They ain’t doin it, sun. Phil Anselmos antics ruined it
did they say that's the reason?
Adam Wilson they say they’re conflicted about doing another Pantera song in one of their tweets... it’s why they only did Vinnie Paul’s drumming for suicide note.
Megadeth..Good Mourning / Black Friday. Their best song ever . Starts mellow, then melts your face
Left Hook yes
Love that song
Fucken love it yes
Left Hook Yes Please on good mourning/Black Friday!
The lyrics will freak these guy's out though! Lol
Five Magics my Megadeth, you'll love it
HaliniSnow yeah but it HAS to be the original version
My favorite after holy wars, this music is intricate and rich (original version), such as megadeths best works.
I actually prefer the remastered, but I'm just a little bi***.
Yup, either Five Magics or Wake Up Dead. Both songs have awesome grooves and amazing solos, they'd love both of them.
Yeah
Mustaine calls it “ear candy,” and there’s a lot of it in this song.
Interesting, "Call of Ktulu" by Metallica was co-written by Dave & has same exact chord progression as "Hangar 18." Compare them, it is amazing how similar yet different they are.
Totally! I would love to be able to let these guys in on these little secrets.
わたなべ わたなべ More different than similar
Four horsemen (Metallica) and Mechanics (Megadeth) are the exact same song but with different lyrics.
Lance Boyer Yes! 👍
Love the way you guys grooved out to the time change part!!
Now do Carcass-Heartwork!!!!
napalmfred I don’t think they would like the vocals. They reviewed “Crystal Mountain” by Death and hated the vocals.
BlackSkullRacer613 I don't care!!!!! I just wanna see them react to it!! I think they'll dig the instrumental though.
Oh yeah! They really need to do this one!
Lucretia by Megadeth is also a must listen!
I don't like it personally, I prefer Five Magics
ABSOLUTELY
Favourite song from the album, an absolute masterpiece.
Take no prisoners is the song equivalent of the Terminator.
Lucretia's solos are so underappreciated...
If you watch a video or two from this album you can immediately start to figure out who is soloing. Marty is exotic sounding and Dave plays a lot of quick pentatonic riffs. This was the pinnacle of Thrash. Every single song was a masterpiece.
Lol even Dawn Patrol?
Chief Thunder ha! I dont consider that a song more like an interlude
Chief Thunder Dawn Patrol is awesome
Yeah, Marty's tone and style are very distinct.
R.I.P. Nick Menza.
Metallica - Orion
I think you will love
Supporting you with that choice
Probably my favorite Metallica song ever. This is definitely a must listen for you guys!
Yes! Sorry for yelling.
Isn't that an instrumental? I recall skipping that song 50% of the time because it took me out of the agressive mood.
Bmetalful - Yeah it is but what do you mean? That's a very aggressive song.
In My Darkest hour GUYS ! LOVE U FROM FRANCE
Oh un français !
A tout le monde
@@ZeryArtzTM à tous mes amis
An official video reaction would be dope!, "Sweating bullets" too
Megadeth-Symphony Of Destruction
What a coincidence, I'm wearing my Rust In Peace shirt and you guys upload this one! Hell yeah! And Dave and Marty were trading off solos at the end there. This entire album has my favorite solos of all-time! And metal is really creative when it comes to transitions. Great video, guys!
its not a coincidence if you are always wearing your rust in peace shirt.
Rust in Peace was a certified classic the day it was released. ;)
Megadeth has been in my top 5 fav bands since 1995. I was 14 years old, and I saw the video for Train Of Consequences on MTV. That song blew me away. I've been a big fan since. Lucky to have seen them live a few times.
Nick Menza was such an incredible drummer. It was so hard to see him go. Rest in peace, Nick. Miss ya.
Metallica - Orion
An instrumental but it's probably the best work of Cliff Burton
Testament- Over the Wall
Ohhhyeah.
Opeth - Burden
Judas Priest - Dreamer Deceiver
Porcupine Tree - Blackest Eyes
Pantera -Cemetery Gates
Guys, you NEED to hear this!!!!
I believe it is time for some OZZY OSBOURNE. He is a founder of the entire genre and has been overlooked so far. He deserves the respect for that fact alone.
Brian Knutson actually Tony Iommi is the inventor of the heavy metal riffs the music is what made the genre
Good mourning/Black Friday!
MegaDeth
Hell ya
Lost in Vegas + Megadeth = instant "like". I don't even care if you like it, I just know it'll be good.
Yep, same here. I was like, "don't even have to hit play, lemme hit like first".
It’s a shame you’ve only done songs off one album from Megadeth. Peace Sells was my favorite album of theirs. “Good Morning/Black Friday “ is a killer song from that one.
Yeah, they need to do their actual thrash metal songs, not bullshit like Symphony for Destruction
Friedman's solos give me the chills
Megadeth - Peace Sells
RogueEagle Goodourning Black Friday is better. but Peace Sells is great too.
...But who's buying?
Peace Sells is a classic, but far from the best on the album. They would really like The Conjuring or Wake up Dead I think
Bad Omen it's probably my favorite off of that album, but I doubt they'd like it. It's too aggressive and fast for them I'd think. The Conjuring or Wake up Dead would be more up their alley.
Megadeth - Sweating bullets
Hangar 18 was a pre Area 51 government facility where supposed extraterrestrial vehicles were storage.
Gentlemen-
1. Megadeth-Peace Sells but Whose Buying.
2. Metallica- Jump in the Fire.
3. Mercyful Fate- Evil.
4. Metal Church-Metal Church.
5. Megadeth- Symphony of Destruction.
Pantera - Floods
Crippling Expresso hell yeah this song!! Love it!
THIS!!!!
annihilator - alison hell
king diamond - LOA house
Juan Martinez both killer choices
Awesome shouts fella! 😎🤘🏼✌️🏼
AAAlison hell

+Johannes Hendricus Nino Mittemeijer Hahaha
Megadeth 5 magics is on this cd and is probably my favorite song off the cd.
Mr. Orange best metal song ever?
@@mikahina3909 pretty close.
Wake up dead by megadeth short but catchy
Tyler Lunn that last solo is literally my favorite solo EVER! very melodic yet still shreddy!
Both were shredding. Marty has a more articulate sound in his solo very precise and beautiful. Dave is just shredding like hell, very aggressive sounding and muted. Very different styles that make a kick ass line up.
you should do a back to back (in one video) reaction of Mechanix by Megadeth and Four Horsemen by Metallica
Great idea!
Four Horsemen is much better
And Sweet Home Alabama, lol
That would be sick!
YES! Been asking for this for awhile!
That transition you guys dont quiet like is maybe my best part of the song
Megadeth - Peace Sells but Who is Buying
I'm sure you're gonna love the lyrics.
Audioslave - Show me how to live
Megadeth - Take No Prisoners!
You'll love it
TAKE NO SHIT!
Glad to be supporting you guys!! Hope you can listen to some Enslaved eventually, Roots of the Mountain or Building With Fire would be awesome picks!
A bit similar to Opeth, and Ne Obliviscaris and Oceans of Slumber opened for their EU tour last year!
cestensrud Agreed, there are one of the best extreme metal band, I'll love to see the Roots of the Mountain, or Ethica Odini reaction !
Mohand Kabeche Ethica Odini might be a bit too repetitive for them, it's a classic though! That's my all-time favorite album
cestensrud Yeah you're right, Roots is the best choice as prog as it is. And yes, Ethica is also one of my all time favorite !
I support this too! I would recommend One Thousand Years of Rain for a starter song.
where are those songs from its been a loonngg ass time since iv put on some Enslaved -might just do it now and look up what they have made after eld
METALLICA - BATTERY LIVE IN SEATTLE 1989!!!!!!
I like that you guys actually give interesting insights that had never occurred to me after listening to this song for years, and you cut out the parts where you guys aren’t talking. I wish all reaction channels were like this because I would start watching these more.
Megadeth - Take No Prisoners
Luv it. I want them to listen to Cacophony. Marty Friedman and Jason Becker rip it up. \m/
Meshuggah - Do Not Look Down
After the Burial - Collapse
Veil of Maya - Doublespeak
Deep Purple - Highway Star
Love you guys. Great idea for a channel. Metal forever
Megadeth still making album until today while Metallica......
Metallica just a joke
@@sahedthebutler8685 Metallica and Megadeth both last albums released in 2016
Marty Friedman, from Megadeth, was in a band called "Cacophony." Check out, "The Ninja"
Megadeth, “My Last Words” my favorite song,The intro is bad! And that outro will melt your face off Raiders of the Lost Ark style!
M Gar Samuelson Megadeth’s most talented drummer.
You've done, like, the Megadeth "legend" trio, you've basically covered Metallica's every side, all left from the slayer trio is angel of death, you are getting into anthrax slowly steadily, but we need more pantera..
Few recommendations--
•Cowboys from hell (you better listen)
•Domination (pleeaaassseee!?!?!?)
•cemetery gates (beautiful)
•floods (yaaas)
Kirk WAHmett 89 skip anthrax
TeamAtFort i kinda get you, but every band has signature style, which anthrax totally has. Anthrax. Im not really a big fan of. But songs like caught in a mosh are nice. But they dont really that much of mind blowing material. Its basically thrash for thrash's sake. Kinda like if you take Metallicas kill em all, and continue that for your entire career.
Kirk WAHmett 89 probably why thrash metal today is boring because everyone literally sings about thrash music
Cowboys from hell I agree when my dad first showed me that song my mind was blown
Floods showed me Dimebag could have done anything, he just loved to shred.
Symphony of Destruction needs to be done
Pantera-Cemetery Gates pleaseee
Diego Andrés “GaaaAaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!” \m/
Judas Priest - Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver
Marty and Dave shared solo`s almost 50/50 on the recordings. I was amazed when seeing the tabs for these songs and realizing half of them were Dave.
Hangar 18 and Holy Wars are both from Rust in Peace which is a amazing album!
Kiss - Unholy
Megadeth - Fatal Illusion
Whitesnake - Still of the Night
Van Halen - Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do
Queensryche - Empire
Timothy Burchell that Van Halen song is great.
Please give Death another chance these are my favorite
Voice of soul (instrumental)
Spirit crusher
Empty words
Tanks for the video you guys are awesome.
braadwurst11 spiritual healing title track they would love the intro riff
TeamAtFort I agree. Or defensive personalities
I think that "the four horsemen" (Metallica) and "mechanix" (megadeth) in the same reaction would be entertaining. Upvote if you agree....
(B.T.W. they are the same song basically, mustaine played it with metallica then created a Megadeth version)
The bass drives it perfectly at the begining, drums also but the bass do the most of the job driving this song.
ICED EARTH! THE most underrated band in metal
Stu Block is their best singer. They need to react to Dystopia
I'd say Dystopia is the best thing they've done since The Glorious Burden, but you're living on a lonely hill if you think Block is their best singer.
badbirdkc I knew Block in his Into Eternity days. It is all opinion dude. I like Ripper too, but Stu just has a certain feel to me.
