In Chinese, the description of 鲛人 JiaoRen is same/very close to the description of Mermaid, and it was recorded in books that THEIR TEARS ARE PEARLS... It's spooky if you didn't know this before and just causally mentioned pearls... Also I think you are right when you said we exploited value from them...
So interesting. There's tales of them being fought after because they shed tears that turned to pearls. And could knit valuable material that was white as frost and could never become wet, could bring beauty, had supernatural powers, and could grant immortality if eaten, etc. And could even make the seas calm for the sailors to safely navigate their ways. I'd have to research into it but there's alot of different stories in different cultures and they're depicted differently in different cultures art too. Also remember that the sailors were out on sea for months, and even talked about being sexually deprived. They apparently would go crazy without women there and have sexual relationships with eachother. But also sounds like they'd go after sea creatures too because they couldn't control themselves. Very weird. Maybe capture and rape a mermaid, then blame the mermaid and say their beauty lured them in, like how you hear how rapists blame their victims.

I've always thought that perhaps there were "mermaid" thousands of years ago, but they evolved into today's whales or dolphins. Because, when you think about it, they're not exactly fish. They're considered mammals! They're super smart and have a unique way of communication, so even if they go really deep into the ocean, they would be able to keep in touch. You said they were seeked after for something valuable, they had something of value and even mentioned inventing fire or etc - we all know whales were hunted down and killed, because of the oil with which... we used to lit lamps, make candles, even use it for polishing!
Also! There is the sirenia mammals or often referred to as sea-cows. The name is very close to sirens, they were also hunted down for their meat, oil and bones. Have the ability to pull out seagrasses, so maybe there were some of health benefit!

You know how ocean flora is really important for the habitat, so if they were made to pull out a certain valuable seaweed that mattered for their survival, or perhaps it was destroyed due to the way they were hunted. Sirenia mammals live in warm waters, they need a certain temperature and conditions to survive, so perhaps just how we're destroying our planet now resulting in climate change, we were doing harm to their environment in a way that it unlocked a climate change they could not survive unfortunately. And were forced to evolve 🤔

Evolution takes millions of years, they would pre-date humans if they were a precursor to modern sea mammals. It's probably more likely they became extinct and was possibly an animal that was found in a small habitat or region in the first place a very, very long time ago because afaik there are no fossil records of such a creature. However, fossils only give us a tiny sliver of a look into what once existed.
The earliest known stories of mermaids come from Sumerian culture which pre-dates the Ancient Egyptians.
I love mermaids and believe in them. I intutively feel that mermaids are scared of humans and try to hide from them because authority figures from old history tried to murder them in the past. I don't think they will reveal themselves to the world unless it becomes an emergency global disaster situation, where their help is needed and appreciated.
They hide alot of truth in cartoons..and in the little mermaid, they have strict rules about not interfering with "human evil beasts". Humans have a long history of torturing everything that looks different..anyway, what you're saying could make alot of sense.

I’ve always found it so interesting that almost every culture has some mention of mermaids! Having said that, the last minute and a half of the reading made me so sad… imagine how much we have hurt them for them to just remove themselves out of our view 😔
It’s sad so how awful humans were back in the day. I mean I know we’re still awful, but I feel like there is a good chunk of us now that really care about our environment and other livings things. I've read somewhere that sea mammals have high intelligence and have their own code system for languages that could differ in pattern depending on the pack they're in. Maybe these mermaids were a group of sea mammals that unfortunately found their way to communicate with humans or something.

I remember a chapter from dolores cannon's book describing mermaids and centaurs were 'manufactured' by humans then, around the time of atlantis maybe. Their function were to aid humans, like maids or pets to fetch/hunt for humans. They could reproduce because they were 'manufactured' by humans in some weird way. This was an interesting read and it reminded me of that book.

I recently read about someone speculating that some mermaids were the souls of those who escaped slave ships and I thought that was pretty interesting. I grew up loving mermaids. I truly believed I would see one one day. I think they could be real in a different dimension. I have one of my multidimensional versions being hold captive under water in another world (Its how I found out why I am so scared of deep waters). A lot of light workers doing quantum work are trying to free the mermaid race from these places but I was told is a really hard task.

I once saw a documentary on TH-cam I think when I was younger and obsessed with mermaids that stated mermaids would not look like how many pictures portray them today. They said they would have to have a lot of blubber to protect from the cold water, no hair from the constant state of being wet, and would look nothing like a human. In one of Sarah Breskman Cosme’s books she talks about how after Atlantis exploded (prob destroying the mermaids shit too) the mermaids look after some red crystals deep below that we aren’t ready for again/ yet. Kinda interesting to find this video after learning that
I vaguely remember reading at one point that during long sea voyages the sailors would experience hallucinations (not sure if this is the word I want, but oh well!) where they saw beautiful women AKA mermaids. But in reality they were seeing manatees - which fits the not able to survive. Manatees are easily injured or killed due to their large size and generally slow pace, which makes them vulnerable to being hit by motorboats and caught in fishing nets.
This reminds me of a show I watched and a clip of mermaids/sirens came out and they were actually manatees but I don’t remember which show it was

Always felt mermaids 🧜🏿♀️ and sirens were the victim.
Speaking from an anthropologist's perspective, who also believes in cryptids and spiritual beings, I lowkey believe mermaids or what we know as mermaids were an offshoot of humanity. (Kind of like Neanderthals or Denisovans) But perhaps were a bit more intelligent than us, evolved to be more aquatic. Neanderthals and Denisovans were either killed by Homo Sapiens-sapiens, or actually mated with them and bred out of existence. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case with mermaids as well.
In Celtic folklore, it is believed beings like mermaids and faeries were forced into hiding because of humanity destroying their homes and killing them. Pre-Christian Europe and other cultures described mermaids a lot differently than the evil "human eating" creatures we see them as in modern day. Definitely interesting to think about.
Mermaids were here when the Earth had higher dimensions to sustain them. They are of pure source light and exist in other realities. They might be back when we let go of all the darkness 💜

This is completely accurate. Check out Lexi the Leo's video on Starseeds - Mintakan Starseeds specifically. This is their story, and I believe they came to earth to hide from those who destroyed their home planet. Maybe you don't believe in that, but this reading was eerily close to Lexi's channeling of Mintaka.
I've heard the same thing. Minitaka is part of the Orion constellation. The planet was destroyed (dunno how) but then the souls of those creatures were reborn on earth. It's very interesting.
I have read that humans have a physical body that fits our spirit/light bodies. Next one down the line are dolphins. I know this won't make people happy, but dolphins are more like the really ugly reptilian lore creatures and are not benevolent. I don't know this, but some have said it. You know the drawings of the green head that goes way in back to a point? I think they were in the movie Alien. Mermaids may have a similar body of their own that holds an intelligent creature. Sounds like they tried to live with us and used to have a huge underground civilization. It makes me sad to think of how they may have worked with humans only to become extinct. Also, there are reports that there have been other "bad" bad creatures/aliens who came in some form that humans came to think tasted good and were hunted to extinction so they had to change up the body they came into. When I was little I used to think that Sea horses were mythical beings. It was fantastic to find out that they were real! I think anything in the human imagination must have been inspired by spirit. I also don't totally know if it's real but there's apparently drawings of mermaids from cavemen. And it depicts humans with spears killing them and the mermaids trying to get away. There is also alot of tales from fishermen now adays of something that attacked them that wasn't fish or human, some kind of creature and that it's not beautiful. Maybe there's some that are hiding and attack people who get too close or who try to capture them.
