You know what? I’m kinda bummed after watching this…. I’ve been using Fontbase for a while and I’m struggling to understand some of the features…. Just by watching your video, I now understand much more of the features, than I’ve been since I started….. all this great knowledge in only 7 minutes as to 7 months of trying to figure it out! From the button of my heart: THANK YOU! The top two things that really blew my mind, was the Color adjustment… my ADHD brain hadn’t gotten that AT ALL!! 🤦🏽♀️😂. And secondly, the SuperSearch 😳🤯. What a time saver!! Although I find the user face intuitive, my ADHD limits my understanding. I’ve been searching tutorials here on TH-cam from the beginning but haven’t found any useful - until now that is! Don’t know if it is because you do not mention Fontbase in the title, that your video didn’t pop up… I hope Fontbase will ask you to do more tutorials on this, since their own unfortunately are useless to me. Keeping my fingers crossed and hitting like and subscribe asap! 🤩

Fontbase is the one! Simple, elegant and quick to load. Spent ages reading tonnes of reviews and pissing about with other font managers such as Nexus Font. They are all trash. Using the free version on Windows 11 and so far so good.
Please do a tutorial on the more basic workability eg. ensuring that fonts are not downloaded into my iMac software file Font Book" and that the fonts only exist in the cloud FontBase. I'm not sure where my font files are. I have a root folder. But I don't really understand it. I've just purchased some fonts and although FontBase shows the fonts are added, the new fonts do not come up in my applications eg word or Serif software Affinity series. How do I know that I'm not taking up hard disk space with fonts? why don't the fonts appear in the font list in the application software. I'd really appreciate a step-by-step walk through on elementary set up and managing those folders. Thanks for this tutorial. Helpful but need more basic information.
Tried this on my Mac but never could get it to work as advertised. What's your opinion on the Extensis font management product? With the coming 2023 loss of access to all type 1 postscript fonts in Adobe apps, I'd be interested to hear your take on preparing for this. Thanks for all you do.
Love your videos but hate subscription software. I have thousands of fonts and I use a great font manager called RightFont. It is just a one time purchase and does most of what this font manager does.
@@OscarObians my device is equiped with ssd. I never faced an issue with slow loading of fonts. Never tried on hdd though. I have around 8k typefaces installed.
@@xDaShaanx Oh wow. I'll have to give it another go then. Is it a Mac or Windows? I read somewhere about windows font manager service slowing down the process of loading fonts. Disabling the service made the fonts load faster. Just not as fast as fontbase though.
@@OscarObians I don't think so nexusfont is for Mac. Let me tell about my experience with windows, I used to install all the typefaces i had in my backup folder but usually I used 20-25 fonts only. I guess most designers use this much of typefaces. This is why I started using font manager. My machine handles it fine, my text tool in photoshop used to stutter a lot when more than 10k fonts were installed. I never use photoshop for text layers, I do it in illustrator always. We shouldn't clutter our machines with un-necessary typefaces. Most typefaces which we download from some sites who offers a lot of premium fonts for free often has broken files. That can cause a lot of issues as well. This is why It is always recommended to use a font manager. Currently I have almost 8k fonts installed in one of my systems which I regret.

This looks the same as the Nexus font manger. But does not have some of the features. I've been using it for about 10yrs now. Didn't get any updates but works the same. It has a portable version too.
This is all well and good as far as looking at fonts in the Fontbase app, but that's not what's important. How does this integrate with Adobe apps or does it at all? The goal is to open up Photoshop or Illustrator and be able to quickly find your fonts directly in the software in a way you organized them by category or type. For instance have a "symbols and glyphs" category where all of those fonts are located under that heading/section in the Font drop-down bar in the software. Or "Monospaced" or "Dot Matrix" font categories. If you cant do this within the application software, the font software really isnt that much help. So...can it perform this task?
Is there a standalone font previewer, that doesn't require internet? There used to be a program, from 1999, called Fisher's "The Font Thing". I loved it. Of course, it's a 25 year old program. Font Base is very similar. I would love to use this, but I keep my graphics CPU away from the internet. If I were to download this onto that CPU (Windows 10 btw), would the program require a constant internet connection to operate?
I have fonts I keep on an external hard drive because I don't want to bog down my computer. The viewer I'm currently using allows me to install fonts temporarily and automatically uninstalls them when I close the viewer. Does Font Base do this?
FontBase does not function in iPages or Corel software. My understanding is that FontBase should open in all software? eg No problem with Affinity software. How to resolve for Mac/Sonoma? any suggestions?

I used Fontbase for a few Years on PC, got the paid Version. Ist was quite embarresing, that they are not able to change the Company Name on the invoice, behause there was Trouble with the Name on the Creditcard. Every month i Need to wait until the Payment was rejected to use the Same Card with a different Name. Even a few Mails with the Support couldn‘t solve the Issue. After changing from PC to Mac i ran in some more Issues while installing. So i switched to RightFont. No Abo and better Performance on the Mac
I have been using this app on the mac but recently the app window kept going white and not responding. I began from scratch and now I can't even add a folder. I think I'm done with it! anyone got another app to recommend (preferably for free or not much in cost) please?
I currently have huge amount of fonts all in seperate folders and sub folders and alot more still do categorise. For example, I have made: SCRIPT FOLDER Script - Fun type Script - Monoline Script - Handwriting Script - Premium/Luxury SERIF FOLDER Serif - Cartoon Serif - Premium/Luxury SANS SERIF FOLDER Sans Serif - Heading/Titles Sans Serif - Cartoon Sans Serif - Premium/Luxury OTHER FOLDER Other - Chinese Other - Russian Other - No category Would this font manager list my fonts as stored like the above seperate folders, or would it lump all my fonts in one folder and hence take me ages to find the desired font/s?

Isn't Nexus insanely slow to load fonts? I loved it for its portability but it was damn slow

Okay as a first look but, overall, not at all informative.
I use RightFont but willing to try this out due to the price and pin//glyphs/web text features.
