That rude, entitled Ukrainian sounds like a rich, spoilt brat, and those exasperating creatures are the same the world over. I've run into Russians who were the same way. Your Russian skills are indeed impressive! Our Russian instructor told us Bulgarian is the most difficult of the already-difficult Slavic tongues. I spoke a little Russian to the Akhal-Teke horse folk at an equine expo, and they kept laughing. The Russians I've met say I sound like I'm from Moscow, not Detroit, which is what I guess amused them. Oh, and Akhal-Tekes are every bit as mad as they are unusual and gorgeous. Their riders are brave and resolute! Ah, the problem was caused by *that* jerk! Saw this in another youtuber's vid. He wouldn't leave the horse alone for the longest time, and the poor horse was already on edge b/c noisy protest! The trooper is indeed a superb horseman. Takes an excellent leg to cope with such shenanigans. The horse is a beautiful, fancy high-stepper, too!

I've just watched the horse "on his toes" part again. I have to tell you that it is hard enough to control an upset horse when you're just wearing jodhpurs a riding hat and have the reins in both hands. This guard got his trusty steed back under control while wearing body armour, a regimental helmet, had his sword on his shoulder and one handed reins. Utter respect! ❤
I have thought this exact thing so many times. I’ve got two hands on the reins and only have to worry about stopping my guy from acting like a jacka@@. Can’t imagine doing that with one hand, a tall hat, a sword, AND a billion people crowding close, while in a confined area. Big time shout out to this rider.

The man in the grey hoodie and brown backpack is the equivalent of Sandra Wilson. They both want to insert themselves into the horse's space and won't leave them alone. You may have noticed the man was in the horse's face just before the horse freaked out and wouldn't move out of the way when it came out of the box. I've seen him in other clips doing the same thing.

I hope that the Guards and all of the Brass are able to have copies of the videos..because you are able to capture so much history, and wonderful moments. The female/lady captain is one of those moments...and the horsemanship of the guard earlier in the video(when the horse was rearing up). I am so glad you do these videos..and hope they will be in the collection of the guards, for them to watch also.
I should’ve been visiting London this coming Sunday for a few days but as a British, 61 year old lady who’s worked my entire life & raised 5 Children, I find myself unable to afford to lose 5 days pay & the cost of travel & accommodation with Christmas upon us & the additional expense of giving small gifts to my children & grandchildren. Thank you for sharing your videos of my favourite place to be in London…Horseguards It’s as close as I’ll get for at least a few months
Well handled by the Trooper as usual , considering most of them had never ridden before joining The Household Cavalry . To all who still insist there should be a barrier , rope , chain between the boxmen and the tourists think of the harm that could cause to both horse and Trooper in a situation like this ! Quite a few points. First time I've seen one of my favourite guards as a Chitsman. He's usually on one of the horses and in the box. He's so lovely. The "We demand" protesters should not be allowed to protest a cause that has nothing to do with Britain, and especially not anywhere near Horse Guards. They seem intent on making a nuisance of themselves, never mind the resources needed to police them. Well done to that guard for controlling that horse so remarkably well. It's not the first time he has had to do that. Superb horsemanship. Bravo, young man. Bravo! That very rude person from another country - how dare he think he can behave like that in his host country toward those who have opened their doors and wallets to him and his fellow countrymen? I've heard mostly bad things about them and their sense of entitlement and rudeness. And lastly, thank you for another memory to be treasured.
Horses were an integral part of WW1, millions died. There is a War Horse Memorial that is dedicated to the millions of UK, Commonwealth & Allied horses, mules and donkeys killed during The Great War, this memorial is sited in Ascot, l understand.
I remember seeing footage a while back when Guard was thrown off and horse fell on side as well. The Guard lost his helmet and also had awareness to throw his sword away so wouldn't stab himself or horse. That was scary. He promptly sorted things and re- mounted and continued on.

I would have said “ Do you not know what the meaning of’ get behind the second white line means?’ And possibly put my hands on them and physically moved them back behind the white line”

The guard was trying to control about 1/4 ton of an equine who has been well trained. He didn't harm the the horse, he was just asking for the horse to listen to him. Have no fear, no harm or hurt was caused. ❤

I remember seeing this exact video from another angle, and they man in the grey sweatshirt with a back pack on said something to the guard and he shouted at the man and the man was almost threatening the horse guard. Hence the reason why they came out to see what was going on. That is when the horse started acting up. I am sure it was because of what the man said to the guard that got the horse riled up. 24:40. The man in the grey sweatshirt with white printing on it and a brown backpack. He is the one that said something to the guard, and the guard shouted at him. The man was also pointing his finger at the guard and saying something, which very well could have been threatening. The same man just before kissed the other horse and then walked over to this guard, and started trouble.

I had similar experience with a woman from Bulgaria. She constantly criticizing the US. I said if America is so bad go back to Bulgaria! No! I came here to make money and get GOOD education for my children, things we could never get in Bulgaria!!!!!

That guy in the gray sweatshirt annoyed the other horse first. That horse backed up and turned away. I really wished they would not allow people to even touch the horses.

The guard was trying to control about 1/4 ton of an equine who has been well trained. He didn't harm the the horse, he was just asking for the horse to listen to him. Have no fear, no harm or hurt was caused. ❤

Hi john im watching this video on 12-12-23 i have seen the video you did where you looked at the sign on the wall next to one of the three arches its normally hidden behind one of the bushes it explains about the horses and guards what goes on in horseguards it should be put where it can be see by everyone thats in the yard maybe the tourists might behave
The ficus bushes were removed last week, so the sign should now be a lot more visible. I put a picture of it on my Instagram. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Has anyone thought about having a family day or week just for parents and kids with the horses and guards?
I remember seeing this exact video from another angle, and they man in the grey sweatshirt with a back pack on said something to the guard and he shouted at the man and the man was almost threatening the horse guard. Hence the reason why they came out to see what was going on. That is when the horse started acting up. I am sure it was because of what the man said to the guard that got the horse riled up. 24:40. The man in the grey sweatshirt with white printing on it and a brown backpack. He is the one that said something to the guard, and the guard shouted at him. The man was also pointing his finger at the guard and saying something, which very well could have been threatening. The same man just before kissed the other horse and then walked over to this guard, and started trouble.
