Super cute!! Seems to me whoever designed the pattern really didn't think the tie section through. Since the big pattern companies were bought out, pattern quality has taken a nose dive. I do love that there's going to be a little peek-a-boo back to that dress.
Thank you Sharon, I agree. There was not enough thought put into this pattern for fabric layout and use. But as you have noticed there will be a nice peek-a-boo section on the back. I really love that detail in the pattern ☺
The dress is coming along nicely. It looks a really good fit and very nice fabric. I've had a quick look through the TV guides for the rest of the year, and it is looking fairly dire, as usual! There is a 'celebrity' sewing bee special on next week, so I will be watching that. We don't do Christmas so it's just going to be normal for us. Yes, shopping is going to be a nightmare but just have to endure it. Be glad when it's all over - bah humbug!
Thank you Diane, I get grumpy over the fact I have to pay for a TV license then I never watch the thing. I might have a look at the sewing bee ☺ A humbug would be nice right now.
That top of the dress looks perfect. Words I hate to read in a pattern....'understitch as far as possible'. You know it's going to be hard going when you read that 😂
I like the print in the top fabric. You can wear a "V" neck nicely. That will make a nice sun dress next summer. You are correct. Christmas is only two weeks away. Hopefully life will get back to normal after the First of the New Year.
The story of my life, the time time time! The "strait-jacket" top, as you joked, looks great! It's an amazingly complex little number, isn't it? But it is just lovely!! And the V neck is great for you! You should use that vest shell pattern over and over. And the back is sooooo cute! AAAdorable! I think we're going to a Chinese for Christmas dinner. :-) The Germans watch this crazy British film, Dinner for One. Do you wear a St. Christopher medal, or is that some other kind of thing? It's nice, framed by the V neckline. See you tomorrow! Well, actually, also in another minute, 'cause I'm a day behind...
Hi Deanya, I am really liking the dress as I make it. Once a day has gone we can't get it back, I would like to think that I make the most of each day but sometimes they get away from me. I do wear a St. Christopher and it is a nice thing to wear. Take Care 🙂
I really like the way the top of the dress fits. You have tailored it very nicely 👌
Thank you Denise 🙂
