How sad it is sometimes… Sometimes I wake up and salute the morning and have a cup of tea… Not being special feels special and I'm not even sure if my sentences resonate with anything you're familiar with… Just writing here to mitigate my meaningless pain due to a silly break-up hehe
This song feels like waking up early in the morning, with a gentle, cool breeze filling the room. I don't know what the song is saying lyrically but the general vibe of the song is just peaceful and refreshing.
Any guitarists watching this, I highly recommend tuning your guitars the way Jonny has tuned his here (i.e. down two steps); it sounds fantastic. Especially the open G Major chord shape (which becomes F Major in this tuning).
thanks for the advice, even though the comment was 12 years ago, I just learned this beautiful and heartwarming song on guitar and i was doubting on play it like the "in rainbows" original standard tune or this version. btw it really amazes me how they make the B minor chord transform to B/F# so smoothly trough that descent.

The love of their music the past twenty years is profound and only grows in time this always makes me cry...the ex who died ...I love you but enough is enough of that stuff for no real reason....
Radiohead feel too much as they compose and sing. Feeling down is bad for them, but that's why Kid A happened. They are really productive in 1990s back then. All you can say is `f**k the press and radiohead haters´. Also do you understand this song's meaning?
i had come across this one on an unofficial channel years ago.. Fell in love with the track instantly.. the atmosphere in which this track is recorded is so amazing.. for me its one of the best parts/aspects of this version.. Thanks Radiohead!
YAAAAY! This vid is such a treasure to me- I like playing and singing RH songs on my acoustic, got the songbook for In Rainbows and Faust Arp was the first song I wanted to learn. So much of the harmony is carried by strings on the album so its REALLY useful to see how they tackle it with just guitar and voice. So beautiful. Bm to B in the verse, that lovely prog near the end: an unresolved B flat, an unresolved A, an unresolved G/C all resolving perfectly into the G. Shades of the White Album.
It may be, yes. My point is that it is exactly this simplicity and intimacy what this particular song needs, and this is why it sounds so great with just one accoustic guitar.
This song and Reckoner are about Faust I think. Check this out, good explaination of Reckoner forums.sherdog.com/forums/f48/song-interpretation-radioheads-reckoner-1277301/
this is the most beautiful song. thom yorkes voice is beautiful i love the way he sings this. i think i like this better than the recorded version, its in a lower octave and sounds more....emotional.
I used to go out with my family and fly kites on that hill. I discovered Radiohead through the end of Shut Up and Dance where the protagonist is walking down that hill. And now Radiohead have recorded a song on it. Neat coincidence
I used to live in the tiny hamlet at the bottom of the hill, was there for 18 years, it's the best and most beautiful place I've lived, I recommend walking there
Did a little tour of Radiohead spots today whilst in Oxfordshire - went to see Abingdon School where they all met and then to Wittenham Clumps (where this was filmed) and listened to this song. Was pretty cool.
you can hear in tom's voice how cold it is out there, and it somehow makes you feel warm in the heart.

"I love you, but enough is enough."
This is easily my favorite song from In Rainbows. I just wish it were longer.
its short but full of lyrics, it's density is what makes it special for me
The whole setting of this video is exactly the aesthetic that I love the most, the breezy evening in the British countryside. Beautiful
Even the wind blows at the perfect time....superb
accurate
wind is sentient

Has anyone noticed that is the hill from S3EP3 of Black Mirror
I noticed that too! and when "Exit Music" started it just stunned me. Someone on that production loves RH.
It's called Wittenham Clumps. I live near by. Quite a common filming location. Beautiful place.
Nearby as well. Would probably shit myself if I saw Thom and Johnny running up the clumps towards me...
Wittenham Clumps. I live here. It's used a lot because its such a sound place
It's where the final part of the ep began ight ???
"I'd rather go to a piss foam party than watch the fucking football".
Brilliant.

You've got a head full of feathers
You're gonna melt in to butter

Could blackbird pie mean heroin?
This is one of the most beautiful songs ive heard up to now :)
"Piss scented foam party!"
Bit of a weird intro to the best version of Faust Arp I've ever heard. Its just so beautiful.
I need to see Thom with this haircut again lol.
The love of their music the past twenty years is profound and only grows in time this always makes me cry...the ex who died ...I love you but enough is enough of that stuff for no real reason....
This is my drug I can't stop playing along this masterpiece
I've always thought that the worst thing about this song is that it's two or three minutes too short.
+Christopher White Yup.
good problem to have
I usually say the same thing about other short songs...but honestly, Faust Arp is at a pretty perfect length to me.
It's just right 😄
Think the Foam Pisser used to read me Old Bear audiobooks when I was a little kid. Good to hear from him again. Done well for himself.
Isn't that Stanley?
By far, the best version.
In D tunning
I just listened to the album version, and I have to say, this recording is incomparably superior to that one. Thank you for Scotch Mist, Radiohead!

This video is a treasure, i love it, and this song is really underrated :(
I can’t stop watching this video over and over again. Love u Thom! Thank u for the voice and the song( that really made me cry😭😭😭😭😭😭
People talk of the power of music. This song is full of so much symbolism it’s ridiculous and I live Thom for that. This music does have power.
Amazing amazing amazing and the whole in rainbows with the Faust references it’s so so well done everything is pure perfection

Nothing sounds as beautiful as brilliant music played out in the middle of a field, on a beach or on a mountain top.
