As a new SP brakeman on the Houston & Texas Central Hearne sub, I worked there for 3 months in order to satisfy a union and SP compromise. This was 1967. What you showed did not exist then: rail over pass over whatever street that is, rail over pass over some drainage 'ditch', don't see the creosote plant, don't recall those storage tanks, don't see I think it was Tower 26, but my memory is not as sharp on the number as it was in those days, etc., etc., etc., but that was a half century ago, so change is inevitable. I see UP still humps at Englewood but shut down the five hundred-million-dollar development of the Brazos Yard [Mumford in Robertson County] in order to pursue upgrading current sidings and construct new ones for PSR. I wonder if the Hardy Street yard where we picked up and dropped off our power and caboose is still around. I used to room on the corner of Hardy Street and Lyons Avenue.
Sadly, the Hardy Street Yard is long gone. It was there until about 2010, and UP stopped using it around 2008. I believe the creosote plant is at the middle of the screen when you fast forward to 7:08. If you look at google maps, it should be near Grand and Wallisville road.
I would like to see a great general operations of that old Southern Pacifica now Union Pacifica Englewood Yard at every part of that yard in all directions can you make good long video of this topic I m very interesting in this yard there's not much about this yard I would be happy to see this in my video library vault I have a big one at that and thanks again sir

Fantastic rail drone! I've not seen a video going that far out into a classification yard. Great work! Thank you for putting this up.

How do they keep cars going at a steady pace for so long? When ea car is a different weight and can't possibly coast smoothly all the time etc?
