Richard Allen Lupoff (February 21, 1935 - October 22, 2020) was an American science-fiction and mystery author, who also wrote humor, satire, nonfiction and reviews. In addition to his two dozen novels and more than 40 short stories, he also edited science-fantasy anthologies. He was an expert on the writing of Edgar Rice Burroughs, and had an equally strong interest in H. P. Lovecraft. He also co-edited the non-fiction anthology All in Color For a Dime (with Don Thompson), which has been described as "the very first published volume dedicated to comic book criticism";[1] as well as its sequel, The Comic-Book Book.[2]
Thanks for uploading this. I randomly watched this movie on TV when growing up in Germany decades ago. Had been trying to get a hold of it for the last several years but it wasn't streamed anywhere nor available on Blu Ray or anything because it was just a TV movie. Now I got to watch it again after like 20 years. It still holds up pretty well!
I had forgotten all about this film, yet when the person gets shot, it felt familiar. Then, when the lightning bolt hit, some distant memories came back. They were mainly memories of familiarity, though I forgot all the specifics of the film. This film was the reason I felt a sense of Deja Vu, when watching that particular episode of SG-1. (The one, where they send golf balls through the gate. I knew that there had been other sci-films, that had used the Groundhog Day idea. I guess, that's the nature of TV movies. They often borrow themes from popular movies. I remember seeing commercials for it. They might have even repeated it a couple of times. I feel like I saw it more than once. Sci-Fi films weren't that common for TV specials, so it was typically welcome to see one. With TV specials, you never knew what you would get. Thanks for unlocking the memory. I'm glad I had mostly forgotten it, otherwise It wouldn't have been a surprise as it was unfolding. I DO remember that I thought it was unfortunate to fight so hard for the conclusion to that particular loop, since Denk was dead, and they were aware of it. If he had merely allowed himself to loop one more time, he might have found a way to tie up that final loose end.
This is a good movie overall, but there are a few really excellent moments, and some terrific scenes, especially in the later parts of the story. All-in-all, well worth the watch.
Lighthearted comedy/scifi/whodunnit. Yes, the theme is a repeat, BUT well done. A delight. Nothing heavy, just smiles. Jonathan Silverman is a treasure. Musical score just right. THANK YOU for posting!
I'm about halfway through, and I'm wondering: Since he seems to be independent of the loop (in it, but not condemned to repeat his actions), what would happen if he got killed? Someone else gets killed, they are back when the loop repeats; but would he be back? If he would not be back, the butterfly effect could change what happens in the big picture of things, possibly even preventing the loop. Ah, but then if the loop were prevented, he wouldn't ... Oh, never mind.
I observed a time stopped in 2020 for couple hours. I checked multiple watches, I figured it out it was real. I am not comparing my experience to this movie, but, I something real 😊. It's be just a movie, but I believe some peoples might experienced it. I am glad I came across it 🙏🏾 😊
