Rising Apollodragon could just destory Darkwurm-Nova with it's Level 3 effect, when compared by BP, the opposing spirit is destroyed, you can destroy an opposing spirit/brave/nexus without any condions.
Yuen Mangus Lore-wise, we've established that's not Dan's style of battling. He'd rather actually battle the opponent's key spirit and come out victorious. A smarter and more clever person would take more pragmatic approaches.
