The residents who live in the Darussalam converts village in Betteng Hamlet, Lembang District, Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi, were formerly adherents of the Aluk Todolo belief, the Toraja Tribe.
Aluk Todolo is the ancestral religion of the Toraja tribe's ancestors which is still practiced by some Toraja people.
Aluk Todolo is an old animist belief. In its development, Aluk Todolo was heavily influenced by the life teachings of Confucius and Hinduism.
The Darussalam converts village is fairly advanced because the facilities and infrastructure are adequate which are donations from a number of humanitarian agencies or community organizations that often come to the settlement.
