Steam in China 2009 - Sandaoling - Part 3 (re-edit)

  • Part 3 of 4 re-uploaded videos shot in China in 2009. Material not previously included has been added. The re-edited video has cleaned up audio, improved stability, better resolution and longer sequences.
    This video contains long sequences of trains with a JS 2-8-2 at the front and another helping at the rear crossing the desert between the China National Rail sidings at Liushuquan and the mine coal loading point at Nanzhan. Although looking flat there is a considerable up gradient between the CNR sidings and the mine requiring two locos on most trains. The open aspect allows trains to be followed in the distance sometimes too far away for the sound of the loco to be heard. A backdrop to the area is the snow-covered Tien Shan Mountains.
    Apologies for the for sounds made by the restless stills photographers on some of the sequences. I have edited out the worst but some remain. Why they choose to stand by my microphone when there is a whole desert to choose from remains a mystery!
