Wow. What a treat. I remember watching The Price Is Right with my grandmother. It seems Bob has away been handsome, witty, charismatic. The very best who has ever done it. RIP icon.😘
I’m 72 ( born in 1949). I remember as a young kid being so impressed with Bob Barker’s ease with contestants, his quick humor and well dressed appearance, that my first career aspiration was to be a professional television Emcee. He maintained all of those qualities throughout his career. He was the best.
Rest in Peace, dear Bob, passed away at the age of 99! Today, August 26, 2023. I grew up on his Price is Right shows. I still remember watching the shows with my grandma in her home when I'd visit each summer. She never missed that show.
I am 73 born in 1948 and I share Bob Barker's name, both first and last. As a youngster I watched Truth or Consequences just to hear my name said when he was introduced. Of course I liked watching the program as well. Sharing his name I got a lot of second looks when I introduced myself. As an adult I invented this little ditty when people gave me the "Come on down" refrain from the game show "The Price is Right" that Barker also hosted until his retirement: "I share his name, not his money or his fame, but I do believe in spaying and neutering your pets." Also as a pastor of churches for twenty-five years I thought of putting on the church signboard, but never did, "Come hear Bob Barker preach the truth or face the consequences."
I used to watch Truth or consequences when I was young boy. Boy I love watching it. This way when Bob Barker was 38 years old at that time. But back then? He look like a young man!
R.I.P Bob Barker! Yes, I loved your run on "The Price is Right" and it was definitely entertaining for 35 years (1972-2007)...and I watched a lot of those years from the early 1980s to the early 2000s but I sure wish those game show app's and channels out there would dust off the 19 years (1956-1975) of "Truth or Consequences", remaster them, and give them a proper showing on a consistent basis, too.
There was never a finer game show host, and there never will be. (Sorry, Gene!) An absolute legend. So fast on his feet, so quick with improv, so gracious to contestants, even the trying ones, and all handled with such spontaneity, humour and grace. I remember watching this show when I was a tiny tyke in the early ‘70s. And of course I grew up on The Price Is Right. Bob had an amazing run.
I am 64 years old and remember watching Truth or Consequences with our parents. We would laugh so hard when Bob set a person in a chair and while talking to them, and they would send an electrical shock to them. It was the best. We will always love you Bob.
My favorite episode was when 6 people were on stage. 3 teams. They used charades to get their partner to guess what item was behind them. It went fine until a teen got done on his hands and knees. He lifted one leg. A fire hydrant.
He was the G.O.A.T of TV announcers. I was born in 1949 and watched this when I was a kid and when he hosted the Price is Right I watched that until he retired. When he retired at 83 I was sad but he made special appearances on the show. I watched the tribute to Bob and it was so tastefully done. Adam Sandler had such respect and love for Bob Barker that he produced the special honoring Bob Barker. Drew Carey showed how much he loved and respected Bob Barker at the end of the special. RIP Bob and if there are game shows in heaven I am sure you are hosting them.
My mother watched this show every night. We all laughed so hard. Wonderful memories. It was the best with Bob Barker as the host. Loved Barkers Box. More episodes please! !!
Bob Barker hosted "Truth Or Consequences" for 18 years (1956-74). For two years (1972-74), Bob hosted both this show and the revival of "Price Is Right".
I remember this episode… And… Wait a minute, I was only eight months old. No actually, I don't remember this particular episode. But I do remember the show as a kid :-)
Loved this show when I was a little kid; always hoped I could have hair like him when I grew up. My favorite episode: a woman won a brand new 60s muscle car, except the engine etc. was disassembled, and each of the individual 1,000+ parts were laid out on the stage. There was a mechanic standing by the car; he would advise her, but she would have to put the car back together by herself in one week, to keep it. Best TV Show prize ever!!! Never saw how she did.
I remember as a child watching this show…….my favorite: Bob Barker: “What’s the difference between Talk and Gossip”Talk: is when 3 ladies are together Gossip: When one walks away…………..😂
T or C aired at 11:30 AM on the east coast live, which meant it was recorded at 8:30 AM in LA. It was hard to get an audience at that time so to get people in the theater the bill read "FREE DOUGHNUTS...and Bob Barker".
God, this is a classic show. I watched it as a child during the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was highly entertaining, some of it was funny. I remember it was on TV M-F, at 6:30 pm, central time, during the years I watched it. It was on TV for several years, and Bob Barker was the host.
I was born in 1968 and I remember watching this show as a kid. I'm also currently binging 1980s Price is Rights on Pluto tv, because nostalgia and Bob Barker.
Wow, it's so WEIRD seeing a younger Bob Barker and hearing his voice is even weirder. Almost like I'm watching Bob Barker's father and not the man himself. Wow
The theme song for this 1960's NBC TV Network version of"Truth Or Consequences" is Johnny Mercer's "Come On Get Happy"(Not to be confused with the theme song of "The Partridge Family"TV Sit Com).
Hilarious how Bob Barker said many things that would be super controversial to say today. Like he said 185 was "fat" haha and 5'6 is a "short man." 2023 you can't say any of those things. He'd be canceled so fast.
Until 1950 it was called Hot Springs NM. But the TV show offered an incentive (I forget what it was) if any town in the US would change its name; Hot Springs took the bait.
Who remembers the wrecking ball episode when a husband got into a construction crane and pulled a lever on the crane releasing the wrecking ball crushing a parked car,his wife's shocked expression was HILLARIOUS!!!
My grandmother was on this show. From what I know she played a German tourist or something like that, she was German and didn't really speak English so well. Don't know what episode it was. Wish I could find it
No because Bob Barker said they talked to his wife before, so they probably told her what might happen and asked if she would mind. $50 was a lot of money in those days so I guess she said fine!
@@ki5aok that's true they dont make things like they used to. They need their machines to go bad for repeat sales. I think it's crazy how it got like this. You could produce the best product in the world that would last forever and get put out of buisness cause sales dwindle away. Their should be some kind of benefit a company gets for making a product that lasts forever.
What was the name of the woman in the dark glasses, Jean Brett?? I can't hear the last name, I was going to google her if she went anywhere in Hollywood.
Wow. What a treat. I remember watching The Price Is Right with my grandmother. It seems Bob has away been handsome, witty, charismatic. The very best who has ever done it. RIP icon.😘

Yeah, and MAN! That guy was (and still is for his age) handsome!😍
It’s amazing how he didn’t miss a beat. He was just as good here in 1961 as he was in 2007 when he retired from hosting The Price is Right.
Greatest game show host of all time. Rest In Peace, Mr Barker.
I'll be 62 in October and I can remember watching Truth or Consequences when it was still on the air. Late 60s/Early 70s.
Rest in Peace, dear Bob, passed away at the age of 99! Today, August 26, 2023.
I grew up on his Price is Right shows. I still remember watching the shows with my grandma in her home when I'd visit each summer. She never missed that show.
You will be missed,Bob.
RIP he did give it everything he had.
No one can take the place of bob barker on the price is right a true legend
Born in 78 and I grew up watching price is right with my grandparents. Bob Barker is a legend. In my opinion the best host of any show all time.
Alex Trebek would like to have a word with you.
I am 73 born in 1948 and I share Bob Barker's name, both first and last. As a youngster I watched Truth or Consequences just to hear my name said when he was introduced. Should have added ""Come on down!"
That's awesome!
Was your mother a fan of the show?
I watched this in the 60s, 70's as a kid. It's how I learned about Burbank, CA.
This was a magnificent show. And Bob Barker made it magical. He was such good company on "sick" days from school!☺☺
RIP Bob Barker. A good looking man always. His soul be with God. 🙏
I used to watch Truth or consequences when I was young boy. Boy I love watching it. This way when Bob Barker was 38 years old at that time. But back then? He look like a young man!

Winning a dryer in 1961 was really something
There was never a finer game show host, and there never will be. (Sorry, Gene!) An absolute legend. RIP BOB BARKER….YOUR EASE WITH FOLKS ON TV WAS HYPNOTIZING
Seeing my very first episode...I ❤️ THIS SHOW!!!
My favorite episode was when 6 people were on stage. 3 teams. They used charades to get their partner to guess what item was behind them. It went fine until a teen got done on his hands and knees. He lifted one leg. A fire hydrant.
Damn, Bob was a really handsome guy.
Such a talented stage presence he had. Either got it or ya don’t…
He was the G.O.A.T of TV announcers. I was born in 1949 and watched this when I was a kid and when he hosted the Price is Right I watched that until he retired. He was no BAAAAAAAAAAd guy
RIP Mr Bob Barker. A total pro, wit, and classic guy.
Actually, Bob hosted T or C until 1975.@@altfactor
Almost 60 years later and it is still entertaining.
I remember this episode… And… Wait a minute, I was only eight months old. No actually, I don't remember this particular episode. But I do remember the show as a kid :-)
Wow God bless bob Barker so very young here he was like 36 or 37
38.
Loved this show when I was a little kid; always hoped I could have hair like him when I grew up. this is awesome. i will be looking for more of these for sure.
That Brooklyn lady cracks me up!
I remember as a child watching this show…….my favorite: Bob Barker: “What’s the difference between Talk and Gossip”Talk: is when 3 ladies are together Gossip: When one walks away…………..😂
OMG How funny !... What a step back in time. My childhood stuff.
Its so weird to think that almost everyone you see in this video is probably dead with the exception of Bob Barker.
almost 100%. he outlived my grandparents and im 47. this video 13 years b4 i was born
AGREED
I had the same thought for some reason haha
well… not after today
Now Bob is dead. 99!
Love that show. It was great when i was a child
RIP Bob Barker, thank you for the laughs & memories
As good as Barker was on TPiR, to me he did his finest work as host of TorC. I offer this program as exhibit A.
TPiR TorC really?? Igyatltwio. Yes there is a word for each letter. Folks are lazy or can't spell.
T or C aired at 11:30 AM on the east coast live, which meant it was recorded at 8:30 AM in LA. It was hard to get an audience at that time so to get people in the theater the bill read "FREE DOUGHNUTS...and Bob Barker".

Rest In Peace Mr Bob Barker
I was real young but I think I remember this.
Mr Dick Clark lives in the hearts of all Americans stay cool and keep a good spot in heaven for all of us
Watched this show all the time back in the day.
I loved this show as a little girl!!
I watched reruns of this in the late 60's!
God says: "Bob Barker come on up!" RIP
RIP Bob Barker 💐December 12, 1923 - August 26, 2023
This episode was absolutely hilarious. I liked the part with the fellow and the lady with the glasses.
The great thing about this show was there was something different every day....nothing like it today.....
love this show so much
sue!
RIP Robert William “Bob” Barker (1923-2023)
Bob was always so funny. What a master.
Bob had to be his own Johnny Olsen.
Bob was a handsome rascal back then.
I watched this as a kid in the 70's
I loved this show!
Love Mrs Crawford, she rocks it!
Wow, it's so WEIRD seeing a younger Bob Barker and hearing his voice is even weirder. Almost like I'm watching Bob Barker's father and not the man himself. Wow
The paradise América was. Love it ❤
Can't believe this guy is still alive!
I didn’t believe you, but you are right!
He just passed away, August 26, 2023. He was 99. RIP
🤦
The best line of the video was when bob called all men 185+ pounds fat.
Lmao amazingly beautiful
I remember this show. Absolutely funny
Bob Barker reminds me of my friend Peter.
I watched this when I was a kid - always wondered what the audience was laughing at in the beginning.
According to a book I read, the audience was laughing at an outrageous stunt, often two burly men struggling to get into corsets.
13:05
Omg hahaha this would not fly today. But that joke was fantastic and Bob Barker’s response was amazing.
Who ever thumbs downed this needs a life
LoL! A chainsaw. That was so unexpected and hillarious!
The theme song for this 1960's NBC TV Network version of"Truth Or Consequences" is Johnny Mercer's "Come On Get Happy"(Not to be confused with the theme song of "The Partridge Family"TV Sit Com).
The good 'ol days.
He's so handsome here. Reminds me of a young James Garner.
Damn bob parker was old in the 60s lol
I love it!
T or C was pure reality television when television really was pure--and decent. :) :)
R.I.P. Bob Barker.
Hilarious how Bob Barker said many things that would be super controversial to say today. Like he said 185 was "fat" haha and 5'6 is a "short man." 2023 you can't say any of those things. He'd be canceled so fast.
2023 you can't say anything!
Yeah that really stood out to me too! He was funny, and very charismatic
This is cool!
I would've kissed the glasses!
4/26/2024. There is a town with the same name. Truth or Consequences NM.
That was on a 1984 retrospective with Carl Reiner called “Those Wonderful Game Shows.” It might be here on YT.
I like the film projector, chainsaw, and camera.
RIP Bob Barker
wish could find more episiods
The theme song being played by the program's organist..is..Johnny Mercer's"Come On Get Happy".
My grandmother was on this show. From what I know she played a German tourist or something like that, she was German and didn't really speak English so well. Don't know what episode it was. Wish I could find it
it was Price is Right followed by T or C, both staring BB
Should it not surprise me that each prize was specifically made out for wives in the household and men outside the household? Different times 🤔
Bob barker is the name you see in Jailhouse tutorial
I always thought that Bob Barker tried to carry himself like Jack Benny. What do ya'll think? Richard from Alabama (ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!)
Absolutely. Bob learned a lot about timing from Benny.
Yes
Bob Barker was himself, no comparison.
I woke up thinking about her! Found her!! Wkt
Mixed w/Sprite.
Manhunts!!!
Oh boy, a 4 slice toaster😂
RIP bob
Do you know how to Gina’s any other videos looking for 57 or 58 were my grandma was on
Is that Johnny Olsen introducing Bob Barker?
That lady predicted the future angels team and anaheim angels
Those Dodger bums.
If that guy would’ve kissed the girl he’d be opening a can of worms when he sits back with his wife 😭😭
Really. Who the heck would kiss a stranger on stage like that.
I was thinking the same thing
No because Bob Barker said they talked to his wife before, so they probably told her what might happen and asked if she would mind. $50 was a lot of money in those days so I guess she said fine!
I rember this when I was a kid and a man said the word dam then apologized. Bob said no need because you csn now say dam snd hell on TV.
Bob looks a lot like James Garner from the Rockford Files.
I own that exact maytag dryer. I just bought it two months ago and thought it was top of the line for today.. This was 1961? I think I got fucked.
Probably works better than any of the ones you buy nowadays.
@@ki5aok that's true they dont make things like they used to. They need their machines to go bad for repeat sales. I think it's crazy how it got like this. 3:35 Buzz!
handsome dude, no homo
Incredible Bob is in his 30s here
Back in the day when a 185lb man was considered “fat”… oh how times have changed 😂
