Man, Jidenna is SO far ahead of the game lyrically and musically! His brand is so unique and classy....you can't help BUT like the dude. He makes that music like people did between then 70's and 90's that still grabbed you emotionally and made you feel good. Monae better push dude. He needs way more marketing.
Look for your local swing dancing scene and you may find something similar. However, from my experience, most swing scenes are light on the brown skinned people and you wont find if any hip hop songs there... it is for swing dancing after all. But that's essentially what he's done, taken hip hop and placed it in a swing dancing environment.

Look for your local swing dancing scene and you may find something similar. However, from my experience, most swing scenes are light on the brown skinned people and you wont find if any hip hop songs there... it is for swing dancing after all.
But that's essentially what he's done, taken hip hop and placed it in a swing dancing environment.
