    My Aunt had that Velvet with Nico Album. It also says "peel here" on the pink banana sticker which is why 99% of the albums with the yellow banana underneath left. They discontinued the pink banana sticker on subsequent pressings and are left with the yellow banana. My Aunt stopped me and told me the story as a kid in the 80s so I wouldn't ruin her record that she so proudly; was the only one left of her friends that didn't peel it. Humm, I wonder if she still has it?

    every time they say "to raise awareness" that means they are not giving the money to any foundation, they are keeping it, when they say "to raise money for"then they are supposed to give to foundations. i know this cuz i followed the U2 case where they found out bono was only giving 1 % of his money he collected to the needy and a spokes person said that they are an organization dedicated to raising awareness not raising funds. its all attorney talk and loop holes they get through,

    • @briankennedy1192

    • @youjoker9647
      @youjoker9647 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh BTW. Bonos One foundation isn't a charity. It's funded by the Bill Gates foundation and it does exactly what it says ie it provides exposure for other charities, many of which are very small and would not receive any publicity. Bono and Certainly Bill Gates foundation do not need to commit fraud to make money. Stop reading Right Wing shite. It does not mean that this Music Cares is dodgy and that Navarro & Morrisson are somehow trying to rip people off. If you must attack charities at least provide the information & proof of misuse of funds etc. Once again One foundation isn't a charity. It's website makes it blatantly obvious what it does.

      In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes. His prediction came true. His ironic portrayal of the idolization of the market feedback loop, using Campbell's soup as an example to predicts/ed the homogenization of global spaces, like starbucks in every city. Warhol was a philosopher.

    • @jonesy2111
      @jonesy2111 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Romeo Frankenstein I remember Warhol being voted the most important artist of the 20th century and the worst... maybe that sums up the discrepancy. He could draw somewhat and was a great colorist...certainly had some ideas and was brilliant at making a scene and active in multiple mediums... even if it was in name only he gave us the VU

    • @FungusMossGnosis
      @FungusMossGnosis 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Warhol was brilliant at self-promotion and finding talented people to prop up his minor, thin talent. His movies (mostly directed by Paul Morrissey) are actually very good.

    • @carnivalminds
      @carnivalminds 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Formulaic song writing. Affected, contrived vocals. Arranging the songs like you’re using “the guitar center bible of tension and release”. You missed this on the checklist, go back and fill it in. Soulless, inorganic, like a tattoo parlor in the suburbs, like a CBGB’s tshirt from Target. Like a trust fund baby who vandalized the high school because he knew daddy would bail him out - AGAIN.
      Whatever. It’s hard to make it in the entertainment industry, so props for that, I guess.

      As I get older I do believe there’s room for everybody And I hate to put down another artist or band but I do agree with the guy who answered you below, Nirvana was desperate, angry and funny, Nickelback was manufactured desperation and anger. You can get technical about it but that’s just what it sounds like. But hey millions of people loved it and it worked for them so it is what it is

    • @youjoker9647
      @youjoker9647 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rotten said the first banned word. Grundy then lost it. It was a great thing imo and the media blew it out of proportion. The shocking thing was that nobody mentioned Grundy perving over Siouxsie. My dad was rather old fashioned but even he thought the hysteria was hilarious. It made the Pistols popular outside of London and the South East.

      I'd rather have a legacy such as Jane's Addiction's few albums to my credit than Nickelback's money. Time has a way of wiping the slate clean of derivative nonsense, and that's being kind in describing Nickelback.

    • @80srs11
      @80srs11 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Jane's Addiction were pioneers of alternative music and paved the way for other bands that came out back in the late 80's. without them most likely nickleback wouldn't have existed as they created the basic elements of nu-metal by mixing funk and metal. Their vocalist was one mastermind of Lollapalooza to add to their list of achievements. What the fuck has nickleback done except making crappy pop music for money.

      Its often the case that a huge success can cause a backlash or whatever. I can think of all kinds of music artists who have been through this.
