    The tshirt with the back tie looked great on you I thought! I think you’re right in that it’s a very particular piece which wants for warmer weather, so unless you love it it’s not worth having in your wardrobe.

    I’m relatively new to your channel and I enjoy your videos. Many of the clothing pieces you didn’t like here were my favorites on you. It looked to me like you prefer loose or oversized pieces on your body more than fitted ones. You have a lovely petite figure and the fitted dresses, skirts and tops looked very flattering on you in my opinion. 18:51

    It's amazing how much I've learned from following your channel, Helen ❤Especially when to *not* buy something that fits kinda alright, but in the end won't get much wear. I now pay a lot more attention to styling options, quality of fabric, etc.

    COS is my fav brand - I love modern looking clothes and at 5'9 with an athletic build, most pieces seem to be just made for my body frame :)
    That being said, not every 'shape' or 'fabric' is for me, but I do love how their shape and fabrics often make things interesting - someone once described it as 'quiet statements' and I think thats what I usually aim for when dressing.
    I also feel COS can be quite timeless as they dont always follow trends too literal and that makes it less trendy looking
    I also highly recommend their linen! It wears very well over time and often also has interesting takes on the basic shirt or pant.

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  ปีที่แล้ว

      I love hearing that they work perfectly for you! The quiet statements phrase I think is the PERFECT way to describe COS pieces. I haven't tried many of their linen pieces but I'll be sure to check it out and maybe try-on a few pieces when I'm in store next :)

    Loved this review! As a similarly sized person I used to find COS never fit me- their sizing felt very european with massively oversized cuts and long legs on everything. It all really overwhelmed my frame :( I feel like they might now be catering to more of an asian market? Their sizing is so much better now!

    I so know what you mean about a "love/ hate" relationship with COS! I'm petite too, and while I love their quality, their cuts don't always work for me. Looking at what I've bought in the past, I rarely go for anything other than tops, especially their knitwear. I avoid trousers unless they have a shape that won't be ruined by shortening them. I'm not really into dresses and skirts, but a lot of COS is just too oversized for me.
    My favourite piece is a lightweight wool wrap top from their atelier collection - it was sold out for ages, but I managed to get one in a size smaller than I normally wear, and was so pleased that it fit perfectly! And a shout out to their deconstructed wool knit I've just received, its cropped and boxy, and I'm so pleased that it has proper knited cuffs that I can easily turn back. The boxy fit works well for me with wide leg trousers.

    Yes! One of my favourite stores, I was literally wondering a few days ago if you had a COS or could get stuff on COS As I love hearing your thoughts!
    I'm 5ft6 and a UK dress 8, sometimes I'm literally the smallest their smallest dresses/one pieces fit, and it's then a maxi and only covering my arms because I have long arms😂
    But they're literally the grown up store of my childhood dreams, I've always loved cool eccentric silhouettes that happen to also hold their weight when it comes to being stylish.
    Edit to say, separates often come in smaller sizes, like their tops etc

    6:04 is beautifully suited to you I think. The charcoal colour, the ribbed material and texture feels very calming. The long sleeve, high waist, mid cut skirt, all these cut points work nicely on you and are flattering, in my opinion. The brown block coloured shoe mirrors your hair colour and perfects the outfit. The cream bag is sophisticated and doesn't draw attention away from the charcoal and brown tones which suit your hair and eyes. I'm sorry that the material was not comfortable and you didn't find the material to be opaque.
    15:05 the tie back black t-shirt looks beautiful for your shape I think. I love how you styled it. The tie back highlights your waist and the simple sleeves end just at your waist also pinpointing it. The simple jeans elevate the outfit and make it seem casual and effortless. Again, these brown shoes are perfect in my opinion as they match your hair tone and complete the outfit.
    The white jean also looks great with the rolled bottom :)

    As someone on the near petite size at 5'4, these explanations are really helpful! I love how COS looks on others but often feel like I'm drowning in their cuts. I just added the cardigan and white shirt to my cart after watching this, though I have something quite similar so I may need to wait on it a bit.

    Love the Vlog Helen. I live in UK so I always appreciate knitwear and things I can layer with knitwear. I've been looking at the denim dress for some time. Would you say it runs true to size. It would make a great layering piece. I have been obsessed with Cos for a while. It's the modern look and the quality of their knitwear. However it has become quite expensive. The quality can be excellent so I feel that it lasts for many years if you pick the right item. Thanks for all the detail, I really appreciate the work you put into each Vlog. I have the stripe voluminous blouse also and I love it, another good layering piece with wool slim fit turtlenecks for winter.

    I have a love/hate relationship with COS too.. ;-) I quite like the basic roundneck (thinner) T-shirts made out of 100% cotton and I've also got some nice short dresses and skirts. But many pieces are simply too wide and boxy on my rather short frame.

    Brittany Bathgate (also 5'3" I think) tried on the same white poplin skirt in a video recently and it looks like such a beautiful piece! My issue with COS is that their clothes don't last for a long time. I love their billowy dresses but I stopped purchasing after multiple dresses I bought a few summers ago only lasted for 2 seasons max.

      That’s very strange. I have pieces from Cos that I bought 11-12 years ago (Cos wasn’t so popular those days 😄) and I still have them in perfect condition. Though, I have to admit that nowadays when Cos has gained so much popularity and their collections come out more often than before I find some pieces of so-so quality (mainly knits).

    Black sweater: Could you get this at K Mart? The fabric might be fabulous, but there is nothing that looks special about it. The eyelet blouse needs a camisole under it. There are several problems with these bell sleeves. Having lived through the 1960s, when everyone wore them, they have to be the correct length simply to stay out of the way. If you go out to dinner, inevitably you will find your sleeves in your food. If they are too long, you can't roll them up or get them out of the way. Getting them tailored is a nightmare, since they have to be taken up at the shoulder. Skip the bell sleeves and do something better with your money. The black and the gray dresses look great on you.

  • @lynnfox8376

    It's a shame Cos only designs for tall slim, model type women. They really should be more inclusive an consider producing a range for 5' to 5' 5". Not just cut off versions of their main range, but items specifically designed to look good on shorter proportions.

  • @kimberlyperrotis8962

  • @kimberlyperrotis8962
    @kimberlyperrotis8962 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don’t like those long bell sleeves on the COS wool skirt set, or anything so impractical. What about if a meal is served buffet style? Those sleeves will be dragging through everyone’s food! One would need a good pair of rubber bands to keep them up, which ruins the look anyway, even if you happen to have some with you. Wearability is more important to me than “special style details”. I won’t be wearing those puddling trousers, either.

    The cos garments are beautiful. But they do look like they're "miss size" and you (and all of us watching your channel) are "petite size". I think you could tell from the draping around the armhole even though the dress is fitted. And the widest part of the pant hip sits lower than your widest part of your hips.

  • @33Jenesis

    Oversized items overwhelm my frame too much. More fitted items show my proportions and slimness better. COS is never a brand on my radar.
