  • Baghmara is the district headquarters of South Garo Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is located in the northeastern part of India and is one of the significant towns in the South Garo Hills district. The town is situated near the Bangladesh border and is approximately 113 kilometers from Tura, which is a major city in Meghalaya.
    Baghmara is located at an average elevation of about 125 meters (410 feet) above sea level. The town is surrounded by lush green hills and dense forests, making it a picturesque location. The Simsang River flows through Baghmara, adding to its scenic beauty.
    The climate in Baghmara is tropical. The summer season, from March to June, experiences moderate temperatures, while monsoons, from June to September, bring heavy rainfall due to the South West monsoon. Winters are relatively mild and occur from October to February.
