I don't even have a 4K TV, I just ordered this for the bonus features. It's loaded with them and this one has different features from the SF one. To me it's worth owning both versions if you're a huge fan of the film.
A Halloween classic for sure. Crazy to me there was never a sequel. Obviously, WB had no faith in it so I know why there never was, but I'll bet it would have crushed it with audiences at the time if WB actually pushed it. Could have bee a good franchise with a movie coming out every two or three years telling different stories all centered around Halloween with Sam as the constant throughout. I guess a sequel is actually in development, though. Hopefully it can live up to this one and have the success it should have back in 2007.
I cannot wait to get mine!! Im psyched to listen to the audio commentary with dead meat and Michael Dougherty, the interview with Quinn lord is exciting! He was 9 years old when played Sam, such a nice dude, I met him at a con 2 years in a row, if he’s ever at a con you go to Christian I highly recommend chatting with him!! This thing is chock full of features!!
Ya, love this movie. I've watched it on Halloween night many times through out the years. Also love the whole "disturbed kids on the school bus" flashback and the vampire mask is awesome, his character is also really good. Like when he immediately realizes they are going the wrong way. Great acting. Love the quote "What you doin' over there? HIDIN BODIES?" Love how Sam uses a razor blade from inside his candy bar to slice and dice people. Sam's arrival at his house and messing with him very much reminds me of the awesome Tom Savini Tales from the darkside Halloween episode "Halloween candy". Where an old mean guy refuses to celebrate Halloween and is visited by a Halloween spirit [medieval goblin] who plays tricks on him. One thing I've done this year, was I took my two monster cereal boxes and put them on the wall as decor. I also took two plastic Halloween trick or treat bags and pinned them on the wall as well. I got the trick or treat bag last year. It's from a medical hospital and it has ghosts and pumpkins who give you safety tips. "always check your candy" I got the trick or treat bag from the hospital telling me all these safety tips. Every Halloween night I watch those 70's/80's Halloween safety videos. The pumpkin saying things like "Wouldn't be so funny if you ate it" and "it's not fun to break things and ruin other people's stuff." As I said last year "it'd be funny to me..." and "how Halloween is that?! Ending up in the morgue for Halloween. That's cool." I now have a 5 foot tall skeleton crypt keeper that kind of reminds me of the Blind dead zombies, just a little bit. That was cool to get for Halloween. I also got these big spiders. Did not put up my Halloween tree this year though.
I never had the original blu ray or Scream's release on Blu ray, only DVD at the time. I don't have it anymore & mine should be here with the original artwork from Arrow's website. So excited to see this again & in 4K for the first time. I should have my copy this Tuesday
I haven’t gotten my 4K in, but I always hated the color grade on the original Blu-ray. It always felt super washed out, and a bit flat, so excited to see what this new one looks like!
I've had mine for a few weeks now. Definite improvement over the two previous Blu-rays but the transfer does lack grain and has some DNR applied. Really wish this one got the hard box treatment.
I still have £55 rewards on Arrow to use. Last time I saved £75 worth of rewards then just ordered some films. This time I may save it longer. While watching this I received an email saying my trick r treat was on its way lol
One thing I am disappointed about Arrows Limited Editions of Friday The 13th ('09) and Trick R Treat is that they came in Slipcovers instead of hard rigid boxes
Yea I have a QLED in my living room! I try and balance out the tv’s I use because I think reviewing 4k’s off a normal LED’s is what 90% of my audience uses
Sooooo pumped. Cannot wait for mine to arrive. Very excited. This movie is just amazing. I have a special needs adult. The bus thing hits me so hard every time. But...my favorite part of these anthology's is that bad people get what they deserve. I had to get the other cover though. Looks so much darker and scarier. Love Sam!!
Admit it CHH, your more of an Umbrella or Second sight fan..... Just remembering at the beginning of the year you were picking second sight to be the beat of the year and now with the Friday films, Stallone and two others now your back on the Arrow train.....I get it .... I love them all, but Arrow has been number one for me since 2021 and hasn't relinquished the title...
Talk about Art the Clown killing kids in the Terrifier movies. The principle in this movie poisons kids, murders them and buries them in his backyard. Also the bus driver drives all those kids off a cliff.
Even though I like horror movies up to a certain extent, but something like that I wouldn't dare to watch. Killing children in cold blood? No! That's sickening.
I know what he means, though. I got the SF blu after it had been out for a while. I had the original blu for years and my first impressions were that it didn’t look that great. Possibly worse than the OG release. I’d have to do a side by side to know for sure, though
I hate that we’re being forced to upgrade to 4K disc for a new transfer, I’ve had the dvd for ages but I’ll just look for a regular Blu-ray version instead.
Upgrading to 4K is not an obligation, it is strictly a choice. You can continue buying standard Blu-rays or even DVDs. If Blu-rays are good enough for you, then that's your choice. Some people don't even have a Blu-ray player, and they're still buying DVDs! It's a personal preference.
Great Video!!! Thank you for taking the book sniffing seriously. Much appreciated lol
This 4K is much better than the previously blu-ray releases that I have
I LOVE the smell of Arrow releases in the morning!

those Arrows do have a good whiff to 'em. Did the same thing to F13 '09 haha
I was on the fence about upgrading this but I do love the movie so I probably will. Great video man!

I ALWAYS smell my new arrow releases. They smell so great.

Given that Quinn Lord also played the peeping tom kid, they should bring that character back as an adult for the sequel. :)
This video convinced me of getting it. Thanks!
Fine ill upgrade, thank you

Just got my limited so glad you read the box I lost my glasses! 😆
There's also the limited edition Arrow poster sniff test. It's like catnip for humans 😂
It's my favorite Halloween movie.

Dope review as always CHH can’t wait to get mine should be arriving soon
CHH I love and have Trick r Treat on order. I would also recommend as a good Halloween 🎃👻 watch Black Pumpkin. 👍😎

Why
Same
I got my tv set on vivid for the most 4k quality
You gotta sniff those freshly cracked open boutique releases!! It's all part of the charm 👃💦💿
I remember you saying you have a Hisense 4K TV. I think you should get an OLED so you are more impressed by the picture quality.
I waited to buy a 4k until an OLED went on sale below $1000. So glad I did.

I love the new artwork. I actually find the original poster art extremely underwhelming.
your putting in the work christian mate im struggling to keep up and trick r treat is a horror masterpiece imo : )

Stop spoiling stuff for people who haven’t watched it.
@@jessb5657 my bad I figured most people here had seen trick r treat.
Even though I like horror movies up to a certain extent, but something like that I wouldn't dare to watch. Killing children in cold blood? No! That's sickening.
I didn’t get a Jason X card in mine.. :/ it was Dog God?
The blu ray looked good for its time. It’s not supposed to look better than the 4k or at least it better not

It's a much bigger jump in quality on 4K over the DVD. It's like watching the movie for the first time again.
