Hi Miko, I'm in the UK and I want you to know that I ordered your book from Amazon UK yesterday and it was delivered to me today. You are an international author!
I definitely had to take a step back with my sinking funds. I didn’t have a lot but I just have three I really need to fund right now because of the timelines because a family member passed away and we have to go clean their house out, I have to pay for propane to fill up our tank (just bought new home), and our emergency fund. I would stress at first because I’d only have a dollar to throw at the others. So, I watched one of your videos and realized I need to do my top priority first and then once those are done I can worry about saving for others!
I am loving these mini lessons. My number one short term goal is to have $4000 dollars saved just in case my husband or I loose a job. We have been working on this for two years now and I believe that by the end of this year we will accomplish this goal and move onto the next one. Which is getting one month ahead on all our bills so we are paying the current months bills with last months pay. We are looking to do both of them within this year however we will be grateful for just accomplishing the one goal.
@@juliap277 Thanks for asking! However we did not make it this year. We actually are starting all over from scratch. Life has thrown a huge whirl wind into our lives that we had to just strive to survive it. When we thought it was over and clearing, on the 30th of December as I was driving home from the store a gentleman T-boned my car. So now it is a waiting game to see if they total my car or not. If so, well I do not want to think of that right now. However, this too shall pass.
@@veronicam1726 I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope you are doing well, both physically and mentally. A car accident can be traumatising, I know what I'm talking about. Fingers crossed that you and your husband land on both feet and that this year holds more happiness for you. All the best! 🍀
My top short term goals are emergency fund which I have started already and new house which need right away as my house is over 100 years old and just too old to renovate, falling down around me. I will do this! I can do this!
My worries are not any one else’s; their goals may not be mine. I think that’s why it’s so important to know ME what does me really want know what me wants to do because everyone else is doing it but do what I want what I feel is more convenient at the time for my family! You’re awesome, Miko!
My goal is to have a 5,000 dollar emergency fund by end of the year, and to tackle debt using the snowball method very close to hitting my goal of 5,000 then moving onto 3-6 month ahead on bills put away. Your keeping me motivated.
This just made things in our budget more clear. Thank you Miko! We have a short term goal to save up for a new fence I know we’ll be needing it soon! So excited to start saving for it and when the day comes it’ll feel good knowing we paid cash for it and that we were prepared! 🤩
Thank you Miko! You are just so inspiring! I really needed this video! My husband and I started the budget by paycheck method for the New Year hoping to really take control of our finances this year. I put together our sinking funds a couple days ago and I felt so overwhelmed, I thought there is no way we can save for all this at the same time, this video really makes me see it in a way where it seems possible, we only have to prioritize whats most important! Thank you!!
Miko...these mini lessons are great! Going thru big changes in my budget right now and I'm feeling overwhelmed...but I hear your voice come thru...your budget has your back! Doing the steps with you! Book is Amazing 🤩
Loving this series!!! It feel like you're giving me just what I needed to push forward on this long journey of mine. Thank you!! My #1 short term goal is to establish my emergency fund
Miko...I'm so excited I just got your audio book and I've been watching your youtube videos. I've tried several times to pay off my credit card and student loan debt. I think the WHY is huge and will help. I notice that in the past when I try to do this I'm very focused on it but I do reach burnout about 6 months in. How do you stay connected to your WHY when you reach burn out? Or perhaps have more mini rewards along the way? Any tips are helpful. Thank you!
Thanks so much for your videos Miko! I just purchased your book and am enjoying reading it! I really love your envelope method and thanks for all the pretty tracking sheets online! It makes tracking more enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Just a thought why save in a sinking fund for something like property tax when you can set up monthly payments over the year and then it just becomes part of your fixed spending? I feel so much happier doing monthly payments then being hit with a huge bill! Although you would be prepared!! 😊
This is the hardest step 😂 my list is very long. I need to combine it or shorten it to maybe 12 all together 6 needs 6 wants and out of those 4short term 4long term so its manageable and not do overwhelming 😅
My dogs mouth and teeth are my #1. He was left by neighbors when they moved and I took him in. His teeth and mouth are in HORRIBLE condition. I'm getting them cleaned next month to find out just how bad it is. The cleaning is 150 but that doesn't include if they have to remove any teeth or do anything else so I can't really budget because idk how bad it is so I'm stacking as much money as I can. So far I have 600. Will have 900 by the time. I pray that's enough. Thats every extra penny I have after bills gas and necessities.
A suggestion for "guilt free" may be establishing a sinking fund for a particular savings goal or a "miscellaneous" cash envelope for unplanned expenses that come up between paychecks. Hope that helps!
I want to tell all my friends about your method, but it's kind of awkward evangelizing about money-related things! Unfortunately budgeting is such a taboo topic :(
I talk about the Budget Mom with everyone! They can take it or leave it but I’m so excited about it because I’ve seen it work for me! 3 years ago I was in a hole and looking for guidance on youtube I came across Miko’s channel; I screamed “FINALLY A BUDGETING METHOD THAT WORKS FOR ME”

Very motivating- how did you go from being so far in debt and turning your thinking around

I always see you need emergency fund but then I think...what is an emergency? What event would allow me to touch that money guilt free?
