I love how Caleb's translations for this song go more in depth with what Ed was feeling in the beginning of the show. Makes his character seem more personable in some ways
Ed was always relatable for me, why he is my favorite.
maybe its because i am a younger brother but i think he could have done better with verse 2. in the other translations ive seen its ed directly talking to his brother and wondering why he stays loyal after all hes put them through. In caleb's version its about how ed puts so much on himself and how much pain hes in because of it.

This holds so, so much meaning to me. As the son of a single father who was heavily addicted to crack cocaine, I spent a huge chunk of my life blaming myself. It was my fault that he was addicted to cocaine. The stress of raising a child is what drove him to it. I'm the reason he overdosed and died.
When, no. I was a child. I had no responsibility to prop that man up, I was not at fault for what he did. I was helpless and had to come to terms with that, no matter the damage to my ego and pride, otherwise I would have never moved on. I can't blame myself for it anymore. Nor do I owe him an apology for simply existing. He made his choices.
This cover is so good it cost me an arm and leg, accepted Greed, lost my internal organs, became blind, and had my soul transmutated in a suit of armor just to listen to this again.

That's actually how I learned of Caleb too! So when I came from the brilliantly hilarious kind of song that that was to find all of the Metal, anime/game soundtrack, Disney, etc. song covers that he did, I was kind of quite surprised, but pleasantly so.😻💖 And now I'm completely addicted to Calebs songs and covers! And Caleb himself is awesome! I love finding people who cover anime/videogame/fandom music, and who also cover them *_WELL_* and have such amazing talent like Caleb, so finding that he did, and that he had such a wonderful and talent was like stumbling on a virtual treasure😄😊😻🌟

I can't believe I only just now found this video. It's so good. I've seen other English covers of this song and was less than impressed with their translations and tempo, but you managed to make the lyrics fit beautifully without needing to force it by drawing out syllables or mashing words together and making it sound awkward. Excellent job! You've definitely passed your annual state alchemist assessment with flying colors.

There are so many great covers of this song out there, but I feel like I hear the right pitch, power, and sense of desperate searching in your performance/translation of the lyrics that was in the original.
