I think Daniel and Darren both did spectacular and i will NOT compare them. I am a fan of both, and comparing them will just bring them down. As a kid in school theater, i know that we are all supposed to help eachother, not bring eachother by comparing our performances. So, they both did amazing.

fair enough, but to say that someone performed the role better on the grounds of how difficult it was for them is unfair. However I actually do agree with you I think Dan was better.

His beyond that he was great as Harry and what do people mean kicking off career without HP in february hes been doing this for a good year tonight he's on SNL which I really hope he will rock. I believe this was one of his first three previews. So things were still changing quite a bit at this point. Not sure if he was sick, he may have been. He did improve though quickly after a month or so, so it sounds to me like this is just where he was vocally.
Daniel will always be my favorite!! Darren and Nick are both great singers but for some reason I just like Daniel's voice better... Nick's acting wasn't there at all and I just prefer the way Dan plays the role in comparison to Darren. Just my opinion.
@4:38 they don't flip dan over to the front of the triangle in time, so he ends up there late. Ha this is why I love previews. If I am correct this is the Feb. 28th 2011 performance.
But the choreography is also designed to work fine if he’s one or two beats late there. It’s all good! But yes, check the Tonys performance for spot on timing (though it’s a slightly compressed version of the song).

I personally think Darren's voice is nicer then dans. But I think dan had the choreography down better. Through he did have more time to learn it. But Darren's dancing is more....watchable I think. Idk maybe I'm being biased. They are both amazing. Dan suits the character more but I think Darren had more talent... Does that make sense?
Technically, there are a lot of parody Potters. Not just Darren. I don't think even Darren himself would claim to be Potter. As he puts it... he was the 'fake' Harry Potter. lol To the general public... he is known as Blaine from Glee.
I don't know. I've heard clips from Darren's performance and his voice didn't carry as well through the audience. Darren is the better singer of the two, but it's almost as if Dan's voice was more suited to this role IMO. Although out of the 3 of them, Nick sounded the best TBH. I also much preferred Dan's acting to Darren's from what I've seen. Then again, I also think Dan is a MUCH better Harry Potter than Darren. Let's face it... Harry is NOT American.

I didn't realize Daniel could sing so well!! Darren definately nailed the choreography better though.
Darren danced more smoothly and suavely, but I’m not sure that’s as good a fit for Finch as what Daniel did. I just love this number.
