Jamaica’s Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, said that the fight will continue to fully clear Marcus Garvey’s name. She said: “We must welcome the pardon wholeheartedly. However, we maintain that Garvey’s actions were not criminal actions, but were acts of liberation, with moral justification. Therefore, what we need, is an expungement of Garvey’s record in America, similar to what was done by the Jamaican parliament. We have been on this journey for a very long time, and we must continue the advocacy for the removal of this criminal record against our hero.”

"The record shows that far from being a promoter of civil rights, Garvey despised those who took a stand on social or even political equality, including labor leaders like A. Philip Randolph and the NAACP. He distanced himself from all the genuine fighters for civil rights, especially the socialists, and embraced racial separatism. His hope was to become rich in the process, not dissimilar to today’s black racialists. Garvey ended his life as a self-described fascist, embracing the virulent nationalism of the 1920s-1940s." An unjust system conspire to charge, find guilty, imprison and deport an innocent man. Over a hundred years later that same system decides to pardon the same innocent man. Except from bring solace to the family of that man, that pardon is worthless. To correct the error and the injustice visited on that man, that unjust system needs to exonerate that innocent man

If Marcus was around today ,they would still frame him up and send him to prison, the same mindset that set him up then is still alive today.

Til Shiloh we'll chant Ras Tafari name.
Give thanks to the three mighty Kings that came out of the movement, who came and trampled babylon under heal, (Sizzla, Luciano and Capleton) among others...

Garvey conviction was just like Jesus’ trial & crucifixion. NAACP members, including W.E.B. Du Bois and Robert Bagnall were like Joseph Caiaphas, the high priest of Jerusalem, and the Sanhedrin, the Jewish council, that brought Jesus before Pontius Pilate. The NAACP (Sanhedrin) with the aid of the FBI, and J. Edgar Hoover (Pontius Pilate) set up Garvey. Garvey was a Black nationalist and separatist, who teaches, "Black is beautiful", Black pride, empowerment, Pan-African unity, and economic independence. Black people should establish their own economic power & organizations and not be dependent on the America (Rome). While the NAACP advocated for integration & dependent on white America for crumbs & scarps from their table.

Marcus Garvey did not need any pardon from people who have committed genocide of other people. Who are thy to talk about giving people pardon when they are under the Judgment of the Creator.

In the case of Marcus Garvey, a pardon is a worthless gesture towards acknowledging a wrongful conviction. Exoneration is the true recourse for an unjust sentence and a wrongfully convicted person. Let them keep the pardon!

Does one have to get pardoned by the devil. After someone's dies over half century now. The only one we as black people look for pardon is from The Most High YAH. No man ,leaders, prince ect. As the psalmist David said do not look to man or prince for any king of help.
