Natural hair woman here...👋🏾👋🏾. You said your hair is soft when wet and unmanageable when dry. Here is my tip. 1. Shampoo, use a deep conditioner/mask [you can ditch the regular conditioner]. 2. Use your leave in conditioner 3. Moisturising is a must. Use the LCO or LOC method. L- leave in conditioner O- Oil and C-cream. Our hair needs moisturizer....unlike "cream hair". All 3 will lock in the moisture and it will be soft when dry. In between wash days you may need to remoisturize by lightly misting your hair and add the hair cream/butter and maybe oil.
Great tips also since the weather about get cold becareful with glycerin products. Also Kim you spray your hair before Moisturizing with aloe vera juice.

Listen, I'm in NJ, and the weather here dries out hair and skin like wow! You've inspired me to go natural because during the cold and winter time my hair is covered with fashionable winter cap anyways. If you decide to relax/process your hair you are going to have to treat it and maintain it often under your wig. My only suggestion for managing your natural hair is to texturize. Texturize...makes it easy to comb. In this type of weather a relaxed hair will get damaged easy. With a texturized...hair you can spray and moisture with product while keeping your somewhat natural hair but easier to manage.

What is best is white two pots double boil shea butter with extra virgin olive and coconut oil vitamin e put it the fridge till it’s a bit hard the use a hand mixer and whisk it till it’s smooth the color will change to a lighter color. Use it in your hair as moisturizer. Will soften your hair. Flaxseed gel to style your hair will make your hair very soft and curly. Boil flaxseed with water for 8 minutes strain with a wig cap while a bit hot cause if you wait till cool it will be too thick and hard to strain. My little healthy hair tip for you ❤❤

Kim stay away from the Dominican salons. Their excessive use of heat will damage your hair. Buy a ceramic flat iron and a good heat protector and do your own hair. Speaking from experience hun. I recently did a big chop due to this.
Aye girl it’s best to manipulate it while it is wet and you can try to blow dry it in small sections. Also you can try tresemme shampoo and conditioner and get a Cantù hair moisturizer/ lotion. Much love❤

Try to avoid combing your natural hair when it’s dry, comb it when it’s wet/moist especially with conditioner. Try products that do not contain harsh chemicals example sulphate free products are good to use. Trial and error is the key, some products work well during hot weather and different results during winter. Walmart 🇨🇦sells a variety of products that can be used in natural hair🇯🇲🇨🇦

Do your hair in section from start to finish...like 4 or 6 sections. Finger detangle then use a wide tooth comb or paddle brush while your hair is still has the conditioner in. Before leaving the shower put those section in bantu knots then when you get blow dry (don't forget to use heat protectant) then style after. Use a ceramic flat iron or twist out/ braid out.
