- I will be making another bandana quilt using my inexpensive Hobby Lobby bandanas.
Join me for Truelove Family stories (which I have many, as a mother of 10 kids), Mothering Autism, with our Maxwell on our many fun car rides, and Free quilting class and sewing lessons! And as in a 'classroom' setting, my tutorials are approximately 1/2 hour+ long....So Join me in my home sewing room, out and about and trying to make all sorts of quilted goodies! Be aware ~ I like to chat and probably repeat myself over and over, (and stutter sometimes), and if this annoys you, then view elsewhere - but, if patient, you hopefully will learn a new method or technique and get an insight into a very large family and their crazy fun:)

Dear Jean, thank you for taking the time to make this video, I love hearing about your ups and occasional downs, it’s what life is all about. The quilt looks great as did you and Ian all scrubbed up for the wedding. Glad Maxwell is doing a little better, love to the Trueloves 🏴

Jean, I always enjoy your videos since I 'discovered' you and your channel. Thank you to Luke for sharing the photo of his loved ones underneath the quilt made so many years ago. THAT is why quilters are so passionate about their works of art. You and Ian looked wonderful all decked out for an October wedding. I crochet blankets for the grandchildren, daughters and they still have them and used & wash them over and over.
Great colors for your next bandana quilt, always like pink & gray together (my daughter's wedding colors lol).

Reverse engineering. Good for her! I have never used a pattern and have made over 100 quilts. I just watch you and other quilters and go for it. If I can see it in my minds eye it’s done. Love you and your videos! Ty

It’s a guarantee that you will run into someone when you feel like you look your worst😂. It’s actually kind of endearing that you don’t worry about being perfect. And you are by no means a Walmart person😉. Love what you had to say about quilt quality/ longevity. I just made 2 ‘Hobby Lobby’ quilts and felt like I had to look over my shoulder to make sure the quilt police weren’t watching when I bought the fabric!

My husband and I are full time caregivers for my 86 year old father and he was particularly challenging today! Your video made me smile! Oh no! I'm so sorry. What a shame...dealing with our loved ones, whose lives are diminishing before our eyes.....I know the feeling. My dear mom slowly shrunk away. It's just so sad. Hugs!!! And yea.....what's up with that...when I look all cute and sassy....nada, zip, zilch, no one recognizes me!!! But when I look like I was dragged through a hedge backwards...out comes an old boyfriend!! LOL! LOL!

Oh, it made me cry when i saw your grandchildren under the quilt. Thats why we make quilts to be enjoyed forever. I always say use it and if wears out i get to make another. My favorite quilts are log cabin quilts i have made so many.

Hi Jean...I love the Carbona sheets! My daughter and granddaughters love flannel pillow cases (all sizes). I always wash my flannel fabric before I cut it, due to shrinkage. I use the Carbona sheets.❤
Flannel is so shrinky!!! THAT you gotta prewash!! :) Love my Carbona sheets:)

I have read to use a detergent like all with no additives at all for people that have allergies. Supposed to keep from dye fading. Thank you for sharing. So pretty and a great job as usual.

Hi Jean, you did make me laugh when you mentioned Walmart People, We have Asda😂. I wish we had access to the types of stores you do, fabric is so expensive here in the UK !! Ah!! So we would fit right in with the People Of Asda!! LOL! Next time we come to the UK, I'll smuggle in a load of fabric for you!! LOL! But I don't know about another log cabin....my brain is addled enough!! LOL!
I too can not figure out the log cabin. I had a small kit for log cabin and could not get it. Brought it into my quilt shop and somehow 🤦♀️🤷♀️had it backwards!! Maybe I’ll look at it again……some day. Love to thr Trueloves💕

You could always get a log cabin precut kit from Fabric Hut.

I do love a log cabin. I make them *cut as you go* and if they get a little off just trim it up to correct size!😊 after quilting/washing/using no discrepancies are a problem. ❤❤❤
But it's the light/dark/left/right/around the center that throws me off!!! LOL!

A tip for log cabin quilt is to cut not from selvage to selvage instead on cut side to side then it’s not on the bias works great 👍🏻 ❤

Adorable quilt! Love the striped binding! So I am looking for Carbona color grabbers on Amazon- there are reusable and disposable, and instructions say to use in the wash cycle. Could you please recommend the specific type you use and where you buy them?
I got the disposable ones that go into the wash. I got mine from Walmart (packs of 30)

I don't like sewing the log cabin pattern also. both my kids chose that for me to make so they would have matching flannel quilts. I did but won't do it again. I felt like I was sewing for a long time. I find other patterns a faster sew!
