SHINee's harmonies are always awsome
"Kind" is a fan tribute song and it is dedicated to Shawols (SHINee's fans). It's all about the relationship SHINee has with their fans. They are saying thank you for always staying by my side and supporting and loving me for the past 13 years (Now 14 years). "For all those times I felt your support, we members have also tried to give you love and support right back." The relationship SHINee has with Shawols is one of mutual respect and love and the fans are part of their family. As the lyrics of the song say, "You've always been so Kind," which I interpret as a direct message to Shawols.
Yes, all the SHINee members' voices are very dynamic. And just think, Minho and Key are rappers. How often do you hear rappers that can sing like them? That's why SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop.
SHINee are known for their amazing harmonies and unbelievable vocal abilities, that is why they are so highly respected in the industry. Their live vocals are unmatched and everyone in the industry idolizes them for the amount of talent they have. SHINee are nicknamed CDINee or CD-eaters because they are known for the fact that their live vocals are almost always better than their studio recordings, that's one of their claims to fame. They can sing a capella and the song will sound just as good or even better than any of their studio recordings of the song. They are some of the best vocalists in the industry. And notice how Onew doesn't even have his in-ears in, so he is only relying on his voice to make sure he hits the right notes -- he actually says it's easier for him to sing when not wear them.
Onew is also known for his ability to hold notes for a very long time. As you may know, he actually holds the record for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch -- 40+ seconds -- when he performed a cover of the song "Friend" in concert.
And now you understand why SHINee's live vocals are on such another level. Because this is the SHINee standard and it's what they are known for. This is the standard that changed the Kpop industry and took live singing to a whole new level. Kpop would be so different today if it wasn't for SHINee.
Fun fact: The order you see the members of SHINee sitting in, is the order that they always sit or stand in since debut days. They will always sit with Onew on the left, Taemin next to him, (Jonghyun in the middle,) Minho next and Key on the right. Even their starting positions in their choreography will often have them standing in this order. You almost never see them in interviews or in press photos, not in that order.
You really should see this whole episode of IU's Palette ep. 5, th-cam.com/video/2LnCaecCDd0/w-d-xo.html (Fun fact: the show is named after one of IU's albums.) The whole episode is really good. It will help you to get to know SHINee better and to learn a little more about IU. This interview will help you to understand why SHINee are so highly respected by their peers and what it was like in the early days for SHINee and Kpop in general, etc. SHINee were on the show promoting for their "Don't Call Me" comeback, so this was in February 2021.

From the beginning till the end, from the vocal, dance, harmonies, engagement with us, the energi, stage presence, they always all out, and its like giving the song a soul. i dont know how to explain, its always so satisfying.. I love Onew's high part in the song. It's so pretty and I love Taemin's parts. They are all so good. So Onew 1:39 is next to Taemin and Key is at the other end. Next to Key, is Minho 2:16.

I always enjoy your reactions, especially all the technical stuff that you point out. Yes, there’s a lot of work behind the scenes that goes into production of every song, in the studio, but also during live renditions and it takes people who really know their craft to make it all work perfectly for the artist to fully shine. BUT the most important factor is still the artist. Without their talent, experience and skills no elaborate technical devices would be able to do the job… What I love about SHINee is that they are one of those very rare groups who really have that skill and compatibility in their voices to sing such songs live and sound amazing. I prefer reaction videos where people in the know discuss the technical and creative aspects rather than just fangirling. All of these talented artists (but especially SHINee imo, lol) deserve recognition and respect for their talent and the hard work. Also, learning about all of it from a technical and creative aspect helps fans to be more discerning in what they like and helps us to appreciate our favorites even more. Thank you once again for an informative reaction, and it's great that you appreciate SHINee's talent and professionalism. IU is one of the most loved and award winning female soloists in S. Korea. IU and SHINee have known each other since their debut, (SHINee May 2008 and IU Sept 2008) also, Jonghyun was a close friend of hers. I give this info. because, if you have a few minutes, you should watch IU's intro. to SHINee where she tells Onew "You are my favorite male singer". When you know about IU's popularity, and the people she's worked with, you'll realize what a massive, well deserved, compliment she paid Onew!

I appreciate the musical aspects and highlights you bring into light, but I really wish you would learn the names of thr members because they have their own unique strengths and skills. It would be nice if you watched their solo stuff and you would get to know their individual musical ability as well as their style of music. They have very different creative styles. Key will have a repackage album soon and Onew will have a full album before May. Anyways, thank you.

It just seems important to point out whose singing or tecnique isbbeing highlighted to new viewers who might not know the members or whom the reactor(s) is talking about. A pattern emerges when you see who does what when singing. Especially in choruses sometimes one of the member's voice is above the other members and you could name who that individual is. Onew and Key do harmonies while the other members sing sometimes or their voice is above other members as an example. The low baritone voice in choruses tends to be Minho. I mean there is alot to identify if you can name who is who and learn to hear for their voices. Does this make sense? This is only positive criticism. It would add more to their commentary. I love all your SHINee and Taemin reactions and I am always waiting for new ones.
