I used to listen Binaca Geetmala since 1965 at neighbours radio on 25mhz Ceylon at 8.00 to 9.00 p.m. and of course smooth flowing voice of Aminji till date is very much heart touching. Needless to say that please give original recording on this channel sometime, if possible.

Those were the days - Saturday evening 8 pm - opened Radio Ceylone , at our Hostel Common / Indoor play room- Amin Sahaniji's voice came out loud with his list of songs 16th to start with and 1st to end with for the 1 hour program. We were keen to know which song stood 1st or continued to stood first.Cronological upward movement also was of interest. Those were the days - Saturday evening meant Aminji's opening of music box to listen to that golden voice on Radio Ceylone and the songs he brought in Binaca Geetmala.

I have been an avid listener of your programs, particularly Binaca Geet Mala at Radio Ceylon and subsequently on Vividh Bharti.
And now I am listening to your recorded programs at TH-cam.
I noticed your bias towards Lata and Kishore right from my childhood. As an announcer I had expected you to be totally unbiased. This bias come out even now when we hear you reminisce about old songs.
No doubt Lata was great in her own right and Kishore had his own set of followers. This does not take away the versatility of Rafi and Asha in that Golden era of music.
Nice to RECOLLECT old memories.
During those days, 1960, we have only Radio Ceylone, for entertainment, and every Wednesday, we all age groups, gathered in front of radio set(generally affluent family owns a radio) courtesy to that family, we all wait to listen Ameen Sayanis voice and choicest songs.
